Vet-Experienced Pet Sitter

🐾 Pet Care Experience I have 5 years of hands-on animal care experience working with dogs and cats in veterinary clinics, home boarding environments, shelters, and private pet sitting. I’ve cared for pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, including puppies, seniors, anxious dogs, reactive dogs, and high-energy breeds. My experience includes feeding, walking, overnight care, administering medications, basic grooming, and maintaining clean, safe environments. I always follow each pet’s routine closely and provide regular updates and photos so you feel confident while you’re away. ⸻ ⭐ What Sets Me Apart From Other Sitters What sets me apart is my professional animal care background beyond standard pet sitting. Special skills include: • Puppy care & basic training foundations (crate training, leash manners, routines) • Senior pet care with patience and attention to comfort and medications • Experience with anxious, fearful, and reactive dogs • Medication administration (oral & topical) • Veterinary clinic experience and health observation • Fear-Free handling principles • CPR & First Aid Certified I’m calm, reliable, and attentive, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. ⸻ ⚠️ Meet & Greet Policy Please only request a meet & greet if you’ve decided to move forward with me as your sitter. I’m happy to schedule one once you’re ready, so I can give you my full attention and make sure it’s a great fit for both you and your pet.

Kristal was amazing! She navigated our big, energetic puppy Bard with care and ease and we never worried about him. She stayed in touch, communicated about any issues she had, and took great care of the house and Bard for a week. Highly recommended!

House Sitting • May 05, 2026

Jerry, the cat, is very demanding on his people. He wants laps, door service, attention, affection, door service, food, water in a specific way, more attention and affection, and door service. When we pack for a trip, he becomes depressed. Sometimes, for company he will go stay at a neighbor's house if he is left alone too long. So Kristal was new to Jerry, and he was already upset. He was at his 'other' house and had to be physically relocated back home, which he doesn't like at all (he wants to have the option to come and go as he pleases). So she got him at his grumpiest and most suspicious about some unknown person in his house. She had a short window of time to win him over. She did it!! He fell in love with her, posing for her pictures, staying close to her, trusting her. Kristal was a great communicator and sent lots of sweet pictures, which made it easier for me being away from home. It also gave me peace of mind because I knew that he was happy and well cared for. Thanks, Kristal!

Dog Walking • May 01, 2026

Just finished our first week of dog walking with Kristal and she’s been terrific. I was nervous because it took some time for my dog to get acclimated with my previous walker so I thought it would take some time with Kristal as well but we hit it off from the bat. We did a meet and greet beforehand with my Coco being apprehensive but when walk day came there were no issues. I’ve already booked Kristal for the next 3 weeks for dog walking. Thankful to have found a replacement that my dog was comfortable with.

Schedule

Pet care is an important part of my daily routine, and I’m very intentional about planning my schedule so each pet receives consistent, attentive care. I do currently work at a veterinary clinic, which means my afternoon availability can be limited. If your pet has specific afternoon needs, I just ask for about two weeks’ notice whenever possible so I can do my best to accommodate. I’m generally available for mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight care, depending on the service requested. I always structure my day around each pet’s routine, including walks, meals, enrichment, rest, and medications when needed. Clear communication helps everything run smoothly, and I’m always happy to talk through scheduling needs in advance to make sure it’s a great fit.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I follow clear routines, use calm handling, and pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs. In a client’s home, I respect your space and follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walking routes, medications, and household rules. I keep doors secured, double-check leashes and harnesses before walks, and maintain a clean, safe environment. I provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident while you’re away. For in-home care or boarding, I maintain a clean, structured environment with plenty of supervision, enrichment, and rest. Pets are never left unsupervised in unsafe situations. I carefully separate pets when needed, monitor behavior during interactions, and follow Fear-Free handling principles to keep everyone calm and comfortable. With my veterinary clinic experience, I’m trained to notice early signs of stress, illness, or discomfort and act quickly if something seems off. I take pride in being reliable, respectful, and transparent, so you always know your pet is in safe, caring hands.

A typical day

A typical day is structured around your pet’s routine, energy level, and comfort. I focus on creating a calm, positive day that balances exercise, enrichment, and rest. The day usually starts with a morning potty break or walk, followed by feeding and fresh water. For dogs who enjoy activity, I include leash walks, playtime, enrichment games, or light training reinforcement like sit, wait, or leash manners. Puppies and high-energy dogs receive extra mental and physical stimulation, while seniors enjoy slower-paced walks and cozy rest time. Throughout the day, I provide one-on-one attention, check-ins, and plenty of affection. I’m mindful of signs of stress or fatigue and adjust activities as needed. If your pet takes medications or has special instructions, those are followed carefully and on schedule. In the evening, we wind down with another walk or potty break, dinner, and calm bonding time. I also send regular photo and message updates so you can see how your pet is doing. My goal is always to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and happy—like they’re on a mini staycation while you’re away.
