About: I like for dogs to smell my hands upon entering a home. This is my trick for creating a safe environment for both the dog and myself in their home. I am currently job hunting, so caring for your furry friend serves as a perfect anchor and structure for my day. I am available for dog walking and client home visits on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays after Noon and before 5pm. When caring for pets in a client’s home, consistency and maintaining their familiar environment are my top priorities. I strictly follow the owner’s feeding schedules, dietary restrictions, and medication needs to ensure the animal’s physical health. I dedicate time to play, daily walks and plenty of affection to keep them comfortable while their owners are away.
“Shane was wonderful as always. A very last minute scheduling conflict came up in my household that would have left our animals without care. Shane was kind enough to accommodate us so last minute and take care of everyone. So thankful he could help us in a pinch like that.”
“Erin has been absolutely amazing with my puppy, Sienna! She genuinely loves and cares for her as if she were her own, and that gives me so much peace of mind while I’m at work. She always provides thoughtful updates with photos and pays close attention to the little things. That level of attentiveness means so much to me. Erin also goes above and beyond by reinforcing Sienna’s training and routines during her visits, which has been incredibly helpful as we’re working on potty training and building good habits. She is reliable, compassionate, and truly invested in my puppy’s wellbeing. I couldn’t ask for a better sitter, and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pet like family.”

About: I haven taken care of dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages for nearly 10 years. Growing up the daughter of a veterinarian has allowed me to become expert at administering medication, cleaning up after pets, and conducting their general care. I can take care of puppies/kittens and older pets and pets with disabilities. I work part-time at a restaurant with flexible hours. I am usually available for visits in the morning and evening but am willing to speak individually about what can be worked out between scheduling! I have one cat and one dog with me at home. My lab mix Forrest is 8 years old and my tabby Stalney is 15. They are extremely comfortable and happy. If needed, I can crate your pet for your or their own safety. I am also very comfortable exercising high energy dogs!
“Julie was amazing! I would use her services without hesitation. Very professional and competent. Daily would send me pics and videos. I never for one moment was worried about the care she was providing my furry son. I highly recommend her! My cat connected with her and went into cat loaf and pet me mode almost immediately. That in itself is a huge sign of her highly rated skill level.”

“Asked Ann to walk our dog two times now, she’s diligent and dependable. Provides a lot of details about the walk, and is very observant about how our dog was feeling.”

“Hilary is fantastic! She sends wonderful photos and leaves great notes on Josie. She is communicative, reliable, and came to help when I needed her last minute. Highly recommend!”

“Tara was really terrific. My dog Charlotte would run to the door when she came to go with her. I thought that was a really good sign. Tara was really reliable, didn't miss any of her dates or times, and was very cheerful and nice to have walking Charlotte. I recommend her highly.”

“Samantha was a great sitter to our two cats - making sure they were fed, clean and loved. She shared regular updates with lots of photos while we were away. We recommend her!”
“Our second time having Erin check on our two cats was just as great as the first! She is truly wonderful, always communicative and sent lots of great photos. Our cats love her! Thank you, Erin!”

“Our kitties did great with Erin! She was reliable and took into account their special feeding needs. We really appreciated the daily feedback and updates.”

“Elizabeth was communicative and thoughtful and took great care of our girls! She went above and beyond and was super accommodating to our last minute requests due to schedule changes”

“Our regular sitter unfortunately couldn’t make it so Jessica swooped in to save the day! She’s so sweet on our senior dog Oscar that we couldn’t be luckier to find Jessica! Thank you for your gentle care of our little precious guy! ???❤️”

“Emily was wonderful taking care of our fur kids while we were busy with our wedding weekend! She sent photos and kept us updated on our babies. Thank you SO much Emily!!”

“Hilary was AWESOME. I would highly recommend her, reason being ... her thoughtfulness. Just before my sit started she informed me of something that could change my mind, instead of canceling I keep the booking and I'm glad I did. She came on time even though she could've came anytime that day, she played with Felix, fed him, kept me up to date on his antics (he's a bengal so he's full of them), she left the light on for him and the tv on cat tv so he wouldn't get bored. I would definitely book her again. Thanks Hilary.”

“Amanda is wonderful with our kitties, even getting our shy guy to come out and say hello! She was great handling the medicine needs of our senior cat as well. Appreciated the communication and thorough reports/pictures every day. Highly recommended!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - College Park
This is probably my 4th or 5th time booking with Caroline and she has been consistently wonderful. I booked her for drops ins for nearly a 2 week period this time and she provided descriptive updates on everything as well as the cutest pictures. When he had an accident she let me know and cleaned it up as well as monitored him after that which gave me peace of mind. Will always recommend Caroline!

Shane was great! It was our first time leaving our cat alone and we were a bit nervous, but Shane made everything easy and our cat was super happy when we returned home. (Honestly I think he had such a good time with his new friend that he didn’t even miss us!). The daily photo updates were a nice treat too :)

Ashton was the most responsible, timely, flexible, and caring sitter I’ve had in the Northern Virginia / Arlington area. She went above and beyond all of my expectations and I am definitely hiring her again! My pets gave her 5 paws up and they are unbelievably critical. So do the right thing and hire Ashton!

Annie was amazing and we're so happy she was our first experience with Rover! She followed instructions to a T and more, messaging us when our directions lacked sufficient detail. She made sure our cat got the full treatment, including playtime and continuing our training. We were worried our cat would like her more than his newly-adopted family ;) We'd definitely use her again.

Alex was an excellent sitter for our two cats. She takes special care to learn about their likes, dislikes, and any special care instructions and provides great communication and pictures from each visit. We feel extremely confident leaving our cats in Alex's care while we're away.

Leo was amazing and did an excellent job looking after Bernie!! We were able to have a meet and greet ahead of time so I could show Leo where everything is. Both beforehand and during the booking, he was so responsive and communicative. The cards he sent after the check-ins were fantastic and Leo always sent plenty of photos! I would definitely rebook with Leo!!

Rachel was simply fantastic! While I was out of town for a few days, she dropped in a couple times each day on my elderly cat and made sure that he was eating (he’s incredibly picky), watered, brushed, and played with. Her write ups on how each visit went and how my cat was doing were great - really above and beyond any expectation I had. I was able to enjoy my time away - worry free - because Rachel was taking such good care of my cat. I have booked her for my next out of town trip and would highly recommend her.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
