About: I’ve had and loved pets my entire life! (I was convinced I was going to be a vet until I realized I would very likely sob every time a pet got sick.) From my black lab, Raven, to my cats Lily and Langston, to now, my long-haired chihuahua, Midge, animals are just a part of the day-to-day! Since age 12, I’ve been petsitting for friends, family, and neighbors (including overnight stays) and cared for dogs who are super energetic, playful, and independent to dogs who experience some anxiety and might need a bit more attention❤️! I also have experience caring for a bit older doggos. My black lab, Raven, lived to 16 and as her mobility and needs changed, I changed with her and it really taught me to be very attentive, gentle, and adaptive to a pets needs. I’m comfortable and experienced with walking, feeding, brushing, playtime, litter boxes, and loving and attention when pets want or need it❤️! So whether your pet is super energetic and playful or just wants a calm, reassuring companion, I’m happy to match their vibe and energy and make them feel loved and at home☺️🐾! I’m a rising junior at Virginia Tech and home for the summer, working part-time as a server in the Fort Hunt/Hybla Valley area. I have a super flexible schedule and lots of free time to spend with your pets, so I’m available for walks, drop-ins, overnight stays, or whatever else your pet might need😊! Mainly, I care for pets in the comfort of their own home with walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays! I make sure to stick to their routine, make sure they get plenty of playtime, attention, and exercise (or just hang out if that’s more their style!) I don’t usually host pets in my home, but I’m super flexible and want to make sure your pet feels happy and loved, and I’ll always make sure to send updates and pics📸🫶!
“Andrea is friendly and personable and my kitties quickly warmed up to her, even the skittish one! These 5-month-old felines are way too smart and Cyrus is on 3 separate medications. He adapts sometimes so the routine can require modification. Andrea was clever and resourceful to ensure he got the doses required even as Toes was trying to get the treats used for pilling Cyrus. She has a sense of humor and feels like a dear friend even though we have only met briefly a couple of times. I haven’t felt as comfortable leaving my pets before and this wonderful woman is also someone I would want as a friend. No hesitation recommending Andrea!”

“I just got stuck in the whole dallas air traffic radar fiasco and Lori was great about taking on my cats last minute and late Friday night. Really appreciate how reliable she is and what great care she takes of my cats! She gives great updates and takes great pictures, even of my shyest cat.”

“Ian was wonderful with my two cats! Displayed great communication to me and great attentiveness to my cats while gone for two weeks. I was at ease knowing they were being taking care of. I would recommend Ian and rebook with him in the future!”

“Honestly the 2 nicest people you could ever ask to watch your cats. They were great with giving my cats their meds. I came home knowing they had everything taken care of at my house. They even picked up my mail.”

“Wa so stressed about leaving my fur boy with someone until we met Rachel. She was so nice and JT took to her right away. She is an absolute blessing and I am so grateful that we were able to find her. Will be using her on a regular basis for sure. Thank you so much Rachel!!! You are the best!!”
“Jennifer was great with my cat, Ted! I appreciate her updates and that she came by before the service to grab the keys. Would book her again, and highly recommend her!!”

“Lined is amazing, she takes sub great care of my baby while I’m gone!! She has great communication and noticed when my dog had a slight limp in his back leg! She’s always on time and incredibly kind:)”

“Sarah was fantastic at keeping me informed of each days visit and included a photo. When I return home, the cats were naturally happy to see me, but also looked well, fed and happy! The Kitty litters looked clean as well. Sarah even washed the dirty, feeding bowls and I plan on contacting Sarah the next time I go out of town!!!!?”

About: I have several years of experiencing caring for dogs and cats. I worked at an animal hospital for 10 years. I am able to administer meds and injections if needed. I feel comfortable with puppies and elderly pets. I take pride in providing great care to pets while their owners are away. I enjoy what I do and I always keep the owners in the loop when looking after their fur babies. I am very flexible and I understanding and I usually find a good accommodation to the pets needs. I treat each pet like if they were my own. I have a very clean home. I do not use kennels unless one is provided to me for a particular reasons. I have a dog of my own and I take great care of him so I’ll take great care of yours! My schedule works around his schedule I have a pet camera to check in on them when I’m not home. I ensure there are no open lids to trash cans or anything that they could get into. All toys I have are safe for dogs
“Lenny is absolutely amazing! We just moved from overseas and I was worried my dogchild (he’s a senior) was going to have a problem bonding with a new sitter because he adored his last sitter. It’s safe to say he adores Lenny already and that’s such a relief. Lenny is such a great communicator and I love all the pictures taken daily. I couldn’t have picked a better person.”

If you are looking for an amazing and caring Petsitter-Ana is your go to person! She is super sweet and great at communication. She took care of my diabetic cat while I was at work. Always on time, always leaves detailed notes about the visit, always makes sure that pet(s) get attention and pets!

Andrea does a great job with my Ziggy- I feel at ease knowing he has someone to get some love and attention and playtime with while I’m away. She also brings in my mail and leaves everything exactly how I left it, I’m so glad I switched from my old pet service and found Andrea!

Brittany is our go-to for watching our fur babies! She's very kind and flexible if things change up, we are confident that we can rely on her to make sure our animals are taken care of. We always look forward to her check in notes and photos and appreciate her thorough communication and openness. Can't recommend her enough!!

I had yet another flight failure and didn't make it home. The airlines string us along until last minute, so when I reached out to Lori at almost 9 pm, I was so grateful she was willing to as another visit to my cats. And as I was languishing in rebooting purgatory with everything's else at La Guardia, I was cheered up with the pictures of my cats which were sent within the hour. (She takes great pictures). I highly recommend Lori--its just great peace of mind when she is watching my cats.

Lenny checked in with our two cats once a day for 2 weeks and we are so thankful for her. The girls seemed relaxed, well taken care of and happy when we got home. One day seemed a little tough on them and Lenny stayed way past her time to show them the love they needed. She kept us updated on everything and send lots of pictures which was much appreciated. Thank you so much!

I wish there were more than five stars! I contacted Isabella to take care of some feral cats I have been feeding as well as watering my gardens which I am very particular about while we are away for a week, In one word - FABULOUS. When I returned all the kitties were happy and the gardens were flourishing. Isabella has very kind, warm presentation which was so lovely and I felt completely relieved when I knew all these tasks would be in her caring hands. She even came back when I returned to drop off treats for the kitties and my dog (who came with us - which I thought was such a thoughtful gesture since she didn’t care for him). She also rolled out my trash cans and took in the mail which she voluntarily offered to do. I will absolutely reach out to her whenever I am in need of pet care (and/or garden care). She is just wonderful!
Sarah stopped in for a practice visit before taking care of our 2 cats for an upcoming weekend. She asked all the right questions especially for things we overlooked. We never go away from our babies but now we can feel secure that Sarah will treat them like her own.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
