“Trusting someone with your pets can be so stressful, but Lei makes it easy! She is communicative, dependable and very kind to our two boys (1 cat/1 dog). Lei sends pictures regularly and gives informative summaries of her walks/check ins, so we’re never in the dark. Totally recommend her for any walks or stays!”

“There’s nothing better than coming home to your dog after a long trip especially when he’s calm and relaxed because he was well taken care of. Juan allowed me this joy. It was the first time I’ve used him and Romeo took to him right away. Juan updated me daily and was responsive to messages. He also left my house in great condition. Thank you for taking care of my baby. We’ll be seeing you again!!”

About: Note: Be sure to check my calendar for availability before booking. Thanks! I adopted my Puerto Rican rescue named Leo in 2019 and he has completely changed my life. He can be reactive on walks and is a super anxious boy in general so I have experience managing nervous dogs. Leo has taught me to see every dog as a cherished family member and loyal companion. When I meet a dog, I want to make them feel as loved and special as they make us feel everyday. My goal is to spend as much time as possible with dogs and I would love to meet yours! I know how exhausting it can be to work and meet your pets needs, and I would love to give you some peace of mind knowing they’ve gotten attention, love, and exercise while you’re busy. I am a student home for the summer and am free until September, but am taking a couple of weekends away so make sure to check my calendar. I am open to spending time with your dog in your home during the day and stay overnight for up to a week. I can do mealtimes and take walks/backyard playtime. And of course, will include endless cuddles.
“Kylee did an amazing job with our anxious pup! She couldn’t have been more patient or inventive, and our house was in great condition upon our return. We’ll definitely use her again!”

“Fernanda was so helpful! We booked her last minute before a trip out of town for Memorial Day and she was able to accommodate us and stay at our own home with our two pups. She’s so responsive and gives updates every day. We are so glad to find someone who we can use in the future!”

“Kaye was amazing! She was incredible to work with pre-booking, willing to meet early to make sure Nell would be comfortable during her stay. During the stay, she accommodated surprise needs, made sure to communicate regularly, and really helped keep Nell on her regular puppy schedule! While watching Nell she went above and beyond to help us bring in packages, provide regular pictures, and play with our girl! Nell was safe, very loved, and had the best weekend ever! We will only be using Kaye from now on - we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you K!”

“Phong is far beyond my expectations! She is very experienced, attentive, knowledgeable to take care of pets and treated my dog as hers. My dog and I legit fell in love with her. I’m so grateful that I could connected to her and had a chance to work with her.”

“Marie watched my beloved pup in my home for several days while I was out of town. She took wonderful care of Ember, including walks and snuggles and selfies for me. She took care of the mail and put my trash out before I got home, ensuring my house was quiet and clean when I arrived home, with a happy dog to greet me. I would recommend Marie to anyone who has a beloved pet who needs someone to stay with them when their family goes out of town.”

“Renee house sat our pitty mix for 11 days. She was very communicative during the whole period. She was also very respectful of our home. We came home to a very happy dog and a clean house! We definitely would book Renee's time again on our next trip.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Oakwood
We had Sjoribel housesit for us for a second time - she watched Cleo for an entire week. Cleo got several walks a day and ate her meals. Sjoribel always gave us detailed updates and let us know if anything was off routine. We received photo updates every day which we loved. We came back to a spotless house and a happy dog. Highly recommend Sjoribel!

There are no adequate words to describe Yiting's incredible gift with animals and our gratitude for her work with us! We have a dog with very special needs, but from the first moment our dog interacted with Yiting, he was at ease and connected with her as if they'd known each other for years. This is entirely due to Yiting's innate ability and specialized training to connect with animals in a way that dignifies them and their needs, helping them feel secure. I am so thankful we found Yiting. She will be our #1 go-to for anything our dog needs in the future. And she took absolutely wonderful, thoughtful care of our home and even our two birds as an overnight sitter. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Ava was the perfect housesitter to our two pups! She was on time, had great communication, our house looked better than when we left it, and most importantly, our dogs were clearly taken care of with love and expertise. We’ll definitely be looking forward to working with her again.

Zosha was an absolute godsend - we had a last minute rover cancellation and booked Zosha the day before we had to leave. Our dogs loved him immediately - He was great about sticking to their routine and provided multiple updates/pictures throughout the day. Thank you for taking such good care of our pups!!

Paola took wonderful care of Max while we were away for the weekend. She was kind, responsible, and attentive, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me great peace of mind. Max looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for when we came home. I truly appreciate the love and attention she gave him, and I would absolutely trust her to care for Max again. I highly recommend Paola to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Ajia was a wonderful sitter for our two goldendoodles. She was incredibly communicative and it was clear she cared for our dogs so well, especially with one of them being a very anxious guy. We loved getting updates and photos each day! I would highly recommend her to anyone else and we would definitely ask her to watch our dogs again!

We can’t recommend Leslie highly enough! Our dogs, Mikko and Jack, are a little older, and when work travel came up, we needed someone reliable we could truly count on. It was such a relief to know and trust that Leslie was able to take exceptional care of our older boys. She was always quick in our communications and we know that she cared for our boys like they were her own dogs. Thanks so much Leslie!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Oakwood on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 10,318 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Oakwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oakwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oakwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oakwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
