“Tali had a great walk with Maggie! I appreciated that she came over to meet Tali earlier in the week before the walk and Tali loved her instantly. She was flexible with some time changes and kept me updated after the walk sharing lots of pictures. Will absolutely continue to have Maggie walk my pup!”

“Thea has been amazing with my dog, Elmo. He’s a bit hyper and she has been fantastic walking him, she’s consistent, and she is very communicative. Would recommend to anyone looking for a dog walker!”

“Julia walked my two dogs all summer while I was working. From the beginning, Julia took the time to make sure she understood my (very detailed!) preferences, always made sure she got things right, and was accommodating for schedule changes and when we moved. Julia was such a big help and I could entrust her with walking my two fur-babies. She is great!”

About: I love all dogs, but I've grown up taking care of primarily large dogs like Pitbulls. My neighbors rely on me very often to take care of their pets when needed. I currently have a very flexible schedule while I am going to college online. I am available during the week and some weekends! Pet care is already built into my daily routine, so please let me know how I can make your day easier by spending some time with your fur baby. During the walks your fur baby is my main focus. I love going for long walks to get some energy out, but short walks are also nice. I walk my sweet dog separately from other fur babies to alleviate the stress of dog introductions.
About: I have over 6 years of pet sitting experience, starting in high school and continuing through college. I’ve cared for cats of all sizes and temperaments, as well as dogs, including my own senior dog. My experience includes administering medication to both dogs and cats, and providing care for several older pets. I’m comfortable with animals of all needs, from delicate lovebirds to energetic hound dogs, and always provide patient, reliable, and loving care. I’m currently a student with remote options, so sitting and walking fits perfectly in my routine! I’m very flexible and can adjust to your schedule. I care for pets in their own home by sticking closely to their routine and making sure they feel comfortable, especially seniors or pets needing medication. I’m attentive to each animal’s personality, whether that means giving extra patience, playtime, or quiet companionship.
“We booked Erin last-minute and she was super easy to work with, communication was clear, and we know our dog was in great hands! Would definitely recommend her and we will book again!”

About: I’ve been a dog sitter for friends and family for over 7 years. I love dog walking and giving dogs the opportunity to sniff and play during their time outside. I also am a cat mom and cat whisperer. My family has 5 cats and I have 1 so I am very well versed in understanding cat body language and boundaries. I work remotely and have a lot of down time between my meetings. My work schedule is pretty flexible and I am able to take some time off during the day if need be for pet care. I live in an apartment, with many parks around me for dog walks. I have a balcony in my apartment and am vigilant to never let animals out there for safety purposes.
“Jessica has been walking my 2 year old dog and 3 month old puppy for a while now and she’s been absolutely fantastic! She’s always very responsive with me, kind and patient with the dogs, and someone I would definitely someone I would recommend to my family and friends!”

“Ann is a wonderful caregiver for pets. It's clear how much she loves dogs. She was an excellent communicator from the very first message to the report after walking a highly energetic lab. She handled all of the quirks while making sure my dog got a good walk and was well taken care of. Highly recommend.”

“Lucy was great and communicative! She placed Mosby’s wrap on correctly so he wasn't able to slide it off and came on time. Will definitely book again.”

“Amy is reliable, caring, and professional. Her priority is to show love to your pet above anything else. My dog and I feel blessed to have her. Highly recommend!”

“Carolina has been great. She came out to meet our dog, Max, and was not at all put off by his size (95 pounds) or energy (overly enthusiastic), which can be intimidating. She keeps us posted on all of his walks, and (most importantly) Max seems very happy with the arrangement.”

About: I’ve taken care of pets for a majority of my life. My friends and extended family rely on me when they go out of town. My family and I will always pick up (and house) any stray/lost dogs we see so I have experience with all types of dogs and breeds. Weekdays work best for me. My schedule is quite flexible. I deal with animals in my everyday life and i’m more than happy to meet more! I have one friendly cat and one energetic dog, with a big and spacious back yard for them. I myself am energetic so I can match any pet’s energy.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Fort Myer
Ann is an exceptional dog walker. I have an elderly dog and Ann was very attuned to how she was feeling, how much she wanted to walk, and just followed her lead. Ann is a great communicator, sending me numerous pictures and written updates after each walk (three times a day). She is organized, friendly, is great with dogs, and makes sure everyone is on the same page. She coordinated with my cousin where my dog was staying. Rosie was very happy and relaxed when I went to pick her up.

Asher has been the best Rover experience I’ve ever had for one of my pets. He’s punctual, attentive, and truly cares for your pets like they are his own. Asher goes above and beyond for my girl, Rue. I just adopted her a couple months ago, so she is still getting used to her new environment. Asher is so patient and kind, and he gives me a thorough report every day as to how she does. I can’t recommend Asher enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Ozzie is a senior dog with senior dog problems, and Tommy has made sure he’s cared for during his walks. Tommy gives me complete updates if Ozzie has any issues, which has been so helpful to ensure Ozzie lives a healthy life. And every walk comes with lots of photos. Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
