“Gabbi is amazing! Very professional, thoughtful, and caring friend to our two dogs. She is very communicative, leaves great visit summaries and cute photos. Her positive attitude and gentle nature made her a perfect fit for us.”

About: As a current parent to 2 cats and prior dog/fish mom, I have a lifetime of experience caring for critters of all shapes and sizes! My main job is being a Psychology PhD student and teacher at GMU (you can google my name!). I’ve worked with animal behaviorists and can handle a rowdy big floof, scaly friend, or tiny pooch! Senior care is a passion of mine, both in the animal and human domains. I am strongly against aggressive handling techniques and believe in a care first approach, focusing on your pets unique needs and personality. Im a PhD student at Mason during the day, so Im mostly available in the afternoons and evenings (past 3 pm). Im available for overnight stays, but will need to return during the day to get to school. I follow a gentle, care-first approach, following your pets needs based on their personality and your experience. I ensure that all needs are cared for holistically, and as a current psychology student I have plenty of experience ensuring your pet feels comfortable, safe, and happy. I am always available to reach by phone during care, and will provide twice-daily (minimum! you will likely be spammed with pics haha) updates on wellness.
“We were nervous to leave our 14-year old dog while we traveled out of the country for a week, but David went above and beyond in making us feel comfortable and caring for our dog. David connected easily with our dog, and our dog warmed up to him very quickly. David was always on time and gave us regular detailed updates, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. If we ever need help with our dog again, we will absolutely reach out to David.”

About: Dogs are a huge part of my life! I got my first dog when I was in 4th grade and then volunteered with dogs at a local humane society throughout high school. After college, I was a live-in nanny for 6 years, helping to care for 2 different family dogs. During my years as a nanny, I also did a lot of dog sitting for a bunch of families in the neighborhood, taking care of the dogs at either my house or theirs. After getting married, my husband and I adopted a puppy of our own and we spent the past 9 years devoted to raising her! I have experience with puppies, older dogs, and providing medication. I am currently a part-time dental hygienist, available to care for your dog 4 days of the week (Thursday through Sunday)! We recently lost our family dog quite unexpectedly, and we are really missing having a canine companion for cuddles and walks! I am available to watch your dog at your home for drop-in visits or walks and at my home for daycare or short-term boarding. I live in a townhouse with a small fenced yard, including some grass. There are no other animals living in the house, but I do have 2 daughters (ages 4 and 7). As such, your dog must be good with children, as well as my husband!
“Dionisia is a great pet care taker . She is very good and patient with handling dogs with anxiety like mine and I can tell my dog loved her as well. She send photos and always communicated very well with me. I 100% trust and recommend her for anyone who may want to book with her !”

“Jiamin is my go-to cat and dog sitter. She is punctual, reliable, responsible and communicative - and so sweet! It’s easy to see how much she care for your furry loved ones and she treats them as her own. Cannot recommend her enough.”

About: Ever since I was little I've always been around animals, watching over both family and friend's pets. I've watched and cared for dogs of all ages and sizes from small to large and young to old. I am also not a stranger to dogs with special needs; such examples as blindness, anxiety and separation anxiety. I am currently going to High School but anytime after 4:00PM on weekdays work for me. My weekends are completely free so any time can work. Currently my house is not suitable for any pets as my landlord does not allow any, so I am only offering my dog walking services, check in visits and overnight stays.
“Lauren was absolutely wonderful to work with! She was incredibly flexible and accommodating, even when we had last-minute changes to dates and times. Knowing that we could rely on her and that she was willing to adjust her schedule gave us tremendous peace of mind. She was dependable, responsive, and clearly cared about our dogs as if they were her own. We always felt confident that our pups were in great hands. We truly appreciate her professionalism and kindness, and we would highly recommend Lauren to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker. Thank you again Lauren!”

About: I've been a pet sitter since I was 10 years old, haven taken care of a wide diversity of animals including cats, senior dogs, and turtles, along with my own two dogs. I have received only positive reviews from my neighbors and often look after the same pets repeatedly. I have a lifelong love of animals, and make sure to dedicate myself to looking after your pets. I'm currently a college student, so I have a very flexible schedule this summer! I am available all days weekends and weekdays, but my schedule might change from week to week. I make sure to be very attentive of your pets and always keep a close eye on them. I am also able to give medicine if need be, as well as crate your dogs.
“Was very friendly to a very shy cat!! My wife and I were expecting our cat to be very shy since she usually is around strangers but Shelley was so great and got our cat to come and play the first couple days with her!! Would love to have Shelley take care of our Sushi anytime!!”

Jiamin was an amazing sitter. Did an awesome job making sure they were not only fed, but that they felt happy and comfortable. She took the time to find out what toy our kitties liked so they could get a good play time each visit. I would definitely hire her again!

Ella took amazing care of Bailey while we were away. She was attentive, patient, reliable, followed our routine perfectly and sent the best daily photo updates. I was able to relax on my trip knowing my fur baby was well taken care of. We will definitely book Ella again!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Rachel was an absolute gem as our pet sitter! We hired her to care for our new kitten, Toto Wolff, and she exceeded every expectation. She followed all of our detailed instructions perfectly, including feeding schedule, litter maintenance, and playtime routines. What really stood out was how much genuine care and joy she brought to every visit. Rachel didn’t just pop in and out; she stayed extra time to play joyfully with Toto, keeping him happily entertained and making sure he felt loved while we were away. Our kitten was clearly thrilled with the attention and came out of his shell even more because of it. Rachel is professional, reliable, warm, and clearly passionate about animals. We felt completely at ease knowing Toto was in such fantastic hands. We’ll definitely be booking her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive pet sitter! Thank you, Rachel, you made our trip worry free!

Jenesis exceeded our expectations when caring for our cat during daily visits. We appreciate her kindness and communication, particularly how she left us a status note for each day when sending photos of our pet. We will not hesitate to reach out to her in the future!
Bridget is wonderful with our kitty. Came over to learn our needs for our diabetic kitty and made sure she was ready for the task. She was prompt at timing and hung out with our fur baby to give her plenty of loving. We received photos for every visit. We would book with her again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
