About: I grew up taking care of my three cats. From a young age I would help with their feeding, socialization, and scoop their litter boxes. I've continued my experience with cats through my volunteering through the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation where I help care for the cats at the 7 Corners PetSmart. About: I've owned dogs most of my life!. From newborns to seniors with different needs. I love their unique, resilient, playful and grateful personalities. Through the years I've helped mommas during labor, cared for newborn puppies (2 with cleft palate), cared for my sweet girl during her last weeks with cancer, I've cared for a wonderful blind dog over the years (I still do! About: I have currently have 2 dogs which I adore so much! I love playing with dogs and love spending time with then and other dogs in my neighborhood on my free time. I will ensure your dog feels at home and will take care of them as if they were my own. I currently work from home full time along with my fiancé. I wake up early to walk my dogs in the Morning before all my work calls and will take them out again usually at noon after my last call. I also have a third person (my mom who’s retired) that is free all day that watches the dogs when I’m in my office. The dogs usually are free to roam around the house and there’s usually a person on all 3 floors. I have a fenced back yard that the dogs can play if they like. I also have a large crate in my basement as well. There are at least 2 people at home most of the day that will watch the dogs play. About: What sets me apart from other sitters on Rover when wanting to choose me as your trusted sitter is that I am a hardworking, reliable, and welcoming soul. I have had a multitude of different animals since I was a child such as; dogs, cats, reptiles, and small animals like hamsters or rabbits. I am always up for a new challenge and willing to always find a solution, as in high school I helped work for a privately owned dog/cat-sitting and walking service. Within the services I provided, I was able to learn how to properly train and work with any animal that may have a special little personality using both a cooperative work strategy with the animal and creating and building rooms for trust and safety. I truthfully am grateful for my 4 years of service as it has provided the confidence and stamina to work for Rover this summer. Having someone come into your home is a sacred and trustworthy process, and I want to make that experience as calm and nurturing as possible for all your furry members of your home. I am currently on summer break from Longwood University as I have just finished my 2nd year and I am very flexible and free with my time as of lately! I am spending the majority of my time currently with my family spending quality time, taking care of my three year old sister, and of course, giving my 4 cats extra cuddles each day since being home. When at home, I always want to prioritize safety for anyone that is in my surroundings, creating room for exploration for my 4 cats through active playing with their toys and can create separate feeding schedules for them as well. If my animals were to ever feel unsafe or I have sensed that their safety needs are not being met, I am able to quickly assess a situation hands-on and create room for proactive structure that can provide both my animals and I the best possible cuddles and memories. As well, when taking care of my 3 year old sister, I always create an attentive headspace for myself, using skills of active listening and problem solving solutions that can help my sister better process both her cognitive emotions and physical needs that she may need to express. I always want to create rooms for awareness and structure, and I believe I could do this for your animals.
About: I am a highly organized and reliable pet sitter with a passion for all types of furry friends. I am adept at providing individualized care for each dog that stays with us and my whole family loves animals. I work my 9-5 in my large house (and fenced-in yard!) so I'm always home and I have two teenaged sons and a husband who also works at home. Looking forward to meeting your fur baby! I work full time from my home so I am always here at the house. My husband works from home so he's always here too! I have a large house and a fenced yard, as well as a 70lb dog who loves company. We treat our furry guests like family. They'll have a blast here!

“We needed someone to care for Cooper, our 11 month old beagle puppy for six days while my wife and I went on a trip and I couldn't have asked for a better sitter than Melissa - on a scale of 1-10, I would give her an 11. Her home is very dog friendly with a large fenced back yard that allows ample space to run and play. She has two wonderful dogs that were perfect play companions for our puppy. She took Cooper out every day, either to walk along forest paths and streams adjacent to her house or to our local dog park. She sent pictures every day and kept us continuously informed of how Cooper was doing. Basically she created an environment that made Cooper part of her family for the time he was there - so much so that I joked he wouldn't want to come home after the great time he was having with her. I would highly recommend her for anyone that wants a caring, loving environment for their dog while they are away.”
