“Colleen and Sean were excellent catsitters! They were very punctual and handled our tricky lock well. We came home to two happy cats and hope they can watch them again!”

About: I have taken classes in dog behaviors and how they act when they might need a particular action done. I have a NAPPS certification, which is National Association of Professional Pet Sitters that is earned for all small animals, both including dogs and cats. I have had my own very young puppy, so I know how to handle and train them in a gentle manner that they will respond to. I have tons of experience in senior dogs and cats, so I am patient to more slow animals or paying attention to them more and making sure they have what they need. I have an extremely open schedule and can stay over for longer periods of time than most people. I am free almost every single day for hours on end, so finding when I can come over is no trouble. I’m easy to schedule if I need to house sit, and am extremely responsible and willing to stay overnight when needed. I love taking care of animals in their own homes, knowing they’ll feel the most comfortable surrounded by their familiar surroundings. The only thing I care about is that your furry companions are safe and cared for in a way that they don’t feel out of place or missing the love they got before you left them in my care.
“Katy went above and beyond to care for our dog Nelson, especially during all the snowy weather. She played with him indoors and made sure he got exercise even when he didn’t want to spend much time outside. She is amazing!”

“Taylor is patient and kind and was able to get my nervous cat to warm up to her and to seek her out for play and cuddles. Thank you Taylor for the peace of mind you gave us while being away from our cat.”

“Isabelle and her family did a great job watching my cat for four days. I came back to a clean apartment/litter box and a very happy, healthy kitty. And the video updates everyday were fabulous!”

About: I’m comfortable giving medication, handling small and large dogs, easing anxiety ,maintaining routine and giving every dog personalized attention, Plenty of care, affection and patience. I work for the school system, so I will be off all summer and I will have a very flexible schedule. I’m available any day, any time. I have over 17 years of experience with dogs and currently care for two of my own. I follow each pet’s routine, provide a safe and calm environment, give plenty of exercise and attention. I make sure my pets feel comfortable and safe in the environment around them.
“Phoebe came in like a true miracle worker after our original pet care plans fell through she is AWESOME! We have two dogs of polar opposite energy levels and she took wonderful and thoughtful care of both of them.”

About: I had a small maltese-poodle mix for over 16 years who I personally trained, boarded dogs of a family friend, and walked rescue greyhounds and other rescues. I currently have pretty wide open availability with prior notice. I am allergic to cats so unfortunately cannot board cats, but am able to do drops-ins. I currently have a wide range of availability with prior notice while working a PRN job in healthcare with the elderly. Currently available for weekdays and weekends. I will follow any instructions given to a T while striving to maintain the routine your pet is accustomed to, while giving them plenty of scratches and belly rubs and cuddles :) I understand some rescues prefer less physical touch due to trust and comfort issues, and I will proceed with whatever level of touch your pet chooses to engage with me.
“As always, Jen took great care of our Dash! She does a wonderful job and is incredibly thoughtful. She also took great pet photos and left detailed notes each day. Highly recommend Jen!”

“Lei was wonderful with our shy cat and gave him excellent care. She was prompt, attentive to every detail, and went the extra mile. I’ll definitely trust her with our pets again!”

About: Hi! I’m Katelyn, and I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life. Growing up, my family always had a full house of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, fish, and even a lizard. We also bred show Cocker Spaniels, where I learned the fundamentals of animal care early on by helping to feed, clean, and train the puppies. In high school, I worked at a horse breeding ranch, gaining hands-on experience with halter and lead training. This taught me a great deal about reading animal body language, building trust, and handling large animals with calm, quiet confidence—skills that translate perfectly to walking and managing dogs of all sizes. As an adult, I adopted my own dog, Karma, who had been abandoned on the street. Because of her background, she came to me with significant fears of men and other dogs. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, I successfully socialized and trained her from scratch. She blossomed into a wonderful, confident, and loving companion who stayed by my side for 12 beautiful years before passing away in 2022. While I still miss having a pup of my own, my heart is ready to share my love, patience, and expertise with new furry friends. I am currently living in Arlington, VA, and am immediately available to help care for your beloved cats and dogs. Pet care is a top priority in my daily routine, not an afterthought. Because I currently have a highly flexible schedule, I am readily available for mid-day dog walks, morning or evening drop-in visits, and weekend care. I intentionally plan my day around my clients' needs so I am never rushing. Whether it’s a quick lunchtime potty break or a longer evening visit, I build ample time into my schedule for play, affection, and thorough clean-up, ensuring your pet gets my undivided, stress-free attention. Since I exclusively provide care in your home, my top priority is maintaining your pet’s safe, familiar environment. I treat your home with the utmost respect and security: I am meticulous about following your specific instructions for locking doors, securing gates, and managing house alarms. Drawing on my professional background in highly detail-oriented environments, I am exceptionally organized and observant. I strictly adhere to your pet’s established routines for feeding, walking, and any medication needs. I also prioritize cleanliness (such as prompt litter box scooping and sanitizing food/water bowls) and keep a close eye on your pet’s behavior and appetite. If I notice anything out of the ordinary, I will communicate it to you immediately. You can trust that your home and your pet are in safe, responsible, and highly attentive hands.

“Aislyn was wonderful with our puppy Scout. She was super responsive, on-time, and provided great pictures and write-ups of our visit. That was especially important to us as Scout is our first puppy and we were nervous about leaving her home alone for the first time. Scout always looked so happy in the pictures and when we came home from work!”

“Pamela was awesome in taking care of my cat and dog while I was away. She took lots of notes and asked great questions during the pre-meet. I returned to unstressed, happy animals and a very clean home. I highly recommend Pamela.”

“Mitzi was really great! Communicated consistently and her care for my cat while I was away gave me real peace of mind. And my cat was definitely much happier when I came back home.”

“Juan is AMAZING!! He went above and beyond with communication and over all care! My pup has special meds and Juan had no problem with it when feeding breakfast and dinner(: Juan went out of his way to go to a pet store to grab a sweater for my pup because it was cold out during their walks 🥹 It was so comforting to know Brody was with someone who goes the extra mile!! 10000% recommend!!!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Falls Church
Phoebe has been taking care of our cat, Smokey, for quite some time now, and we couldn’t be happier. She’s reliable, communicative, and always makes sure Smokey is well cared for while we’re away. We really appreciate the thoughtful updates and photos, which give us so much peace of mind. It’s obvious she genuinely cares about the pets she watches, and Smokey is always happy and relaxed when we get home. We trust Phoebe completely and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring pet sitter!

Joaquin went above and beyond in every sense. In addition to this already being a last minute request, he provided detailed daily updates on my Aeris, spent time with him, and even cleaned up Aeris’ food area and took out the trash. I’m so glad to have found him and would gladly rebook.

Reona was a fantastic sitter for our two cats. She was thorough, always on time, extremely easy to work with, and very loving with our cats. She provided wonderful and detailed updates on how the cats were doing, including great photos of them playing at every visit. I was very impressed and highly recommend her!

Jen was wonderful. She came to meet and greet my two cats and ensured she understood the process of getting in and out and their daily routines. She clearly has an affinity for them as even my more anxious cat became comfortable with her after just a couple visits.

Mya was an outstanding sitter for our cat while we were away on vacation! She took care of our cat exactly as instructed (including giving medication) and made sure to spend time with her (even though the cat is shy!). She sent lots of great photos of our cat and we had peace of mind knowing Mya was on the job.

Nina is amazing! We feel she is like part of the family, but most importantly, our cats feel this way. She is thorough, thoughtful, and incredibly communicative. She has the perfect touch with each of our cats, who have wildly different personalities. We trust her implicitly and are so glad we found her through Rover!

Josh was great! He was able to keep my cat Tommy well fed and entertained on a consistent basis while I was away. I appreciate his willingness to take care of him for almost a months I would definitely recommend him and hope to book him again in the future.

Yiting is truly the best! She took amazing care of my cats while I was away. Every visit, she cleaned their litter boxes thoroughly, took the waste bags out right away, and even helped keep my home clean and tidy. My cats are very shy, slow to warm up, and usually do not feel comfortable around strangers, but Yiting was incredibly patient with them. She spent time playing with them, gave them plenty of attention, and even put on TV shows for them. My cats absolutely loved the shows she chose! She also sent me tons of photos and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind, and she always kept me updated on how they were doing. I have honestly never met anyone who loves and understands cats as much as Yiting does. She is truly one in a million, and I cannot recommend her enough!

Henry was great! One of our cats is super friendly and took to Henry immediately, enjoying lots of playtime with him. Our other kitty is much more shy, but Henry was patient with him, and he eventually warmed up to him as well. Both of our cats were well cared for, and we felt confident they were in good hands. We would definitely hire Henry again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
