About: Pets have been a big part of my life, and I know the difference between a pet who is just being watched and one who is truly cared for. I currently share my home with a cat, so daily care is second nature to me: feeding on schedule, fresh water, clean litter boxes, and the small routines cats count on.Especially Anxious (i know when your gargoyle wants to lurk-and when the rubs are needed. I’ve had two dogs, and both taught me a lot. My first, Ed, was an 80-pound American Foxhound rescued as a suspected abandoned hunting dog who had never lived indoors. Together we worked through house training, leash manners (no more yanking), a fear of stairs (which involved carrying him up three flights until he stopped being scared), and a distaste for rain. His name was not what he was rescued with, but he was clearly always an Ed. With my second dog, Kovu, I spent a lot of time on socialization with other dogs and on keeping him calm and quiet when left alone. Because of that, I’m patient with nervous, rigid, big dogs, and dogs still learning the rules. I know that consistency and a calm presence go a long way. All Creatures Welcome! We’ve used plenty of dog sitters over the years, and Ashley is hands down the best we’ve ever had. A few things that made her stand out: Incredible Communication: She kept us updated throughout the day, and waking up every morning to cute photos of our pups gave us complete peace of mind. Treated Our Pups Like Royalty: The dogs were so happy, loved, and well cared for. Honestly, when we came home, I’m pretty sure they were glad to see us but a little disappointed it wasn't Ashley walking back through the door! Treated Our Home Like Her Own: She brought in all our mail and packages, washed her sheets, and did all the dishes.
