About: I’ve grown up in a home with multiple pets and have extensive experience caring for animals. Over the years, neighbors and friends have trusted me to care for their pets while they were away. I’m also a four-time foster parent with the Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA, where I’ve cared for animals in need and helped prepare them for adoption. I currently work full-time during the week, but I’m fully available on weekends to give your furry family my complete attention and care! I’m available anytime after 5:00 PM on Fridays through Sundays. I’m a true animal lover and will care for your furry family members as if they were my own. “I have been nervous for a while to use rover for my two kitties and Allison coming and staying at my house showed me why I did not need to be worried! Allison loved and cared for my cats so much! She gave them their daily medicines with food, worked with my automatic litter boxes, and most importantly played and loved on them so much! She was very very communicative and responsive and also sent me so many cute pictures! I always miss my cats so much when I’m gone so this helped me a lot! I also frequently asked how things were going and Allison was very responsive which helped reassure me! She also left my home neat and tidy how it was left for her which was nice to come home to! Allison rocks and I am so appreciative to have someone so kind and thoughtful taking care of my pets! About: I've taken care of dogs since I helped my mom with her dog boarding business in 2020 and since then have taken care of a multitude of both young and old dogs. I will NOT take last minute requests without a meet & greet. I'm used to picking up after those without potty training or those with stomach issues and sympathizing over those sweet pups. I currently have a very flexible schedule over the summer and am available for dog sitting, pet care, and house sitting throughout the week and weekends. I have experience interpreting canine body language and understanding breed-specific needs, including the specialized care required for brachycephalic breeds and barrel-chested breeds. I am comfortable administering medications, handling accidents or cleanups, and adapting to the unique needs of each pet. In addition to caring for dogs and cats, I have experience with other animals as well and am always willing to learn about the proper care and handling of different species. From the start, she was incredibly thorough, thoughtful, and attentive to detail. She didn’t just follow instructions — she truly cared about our dogs and their experience. She made sure to check them for ticks, kept us updated, and was very proactive in making sure they were safe and happy. What impressed us the most was her flexibility and dedication. That level of attentiveness and willingness to adapt gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. But the biggest sign of how amazing she is? The absolute best! So sweet, kind, and genuinely caring, my kittens were so happy and comfortable with her. This was my very first time ever using a house sitter, and also our first time having kittens, so we truly didn’t know what to expect, especially since both kittens had just been spayed and neutered. Melianna went above and beyond. Even on Easter, she was there for us, consistently checking in and sending updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. She handled everything with such professionalism, kindness, and a warm, sweethearted approach. I am incredibly grateful for her and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Will was a joy to have in our home taking care of our 110lb Great Pyrenees named Bear! At our initial interview, we knew he would be a good match. He asked good questions. He won us over with his confidence and skill dealing with a very large dog. Bear had a blast in our absence. Will walked him a least 3 times a day, played with him in our fenced yard, and kept Bear on a schedule. Will also took time to work on some of Bear's training exercises and adminstered his monthly meds. I really liked that Will worked from our home, so he spent most of the day with Bear, which is what Bear is accustomed to. We came home to a happy dog and a clean home. We would happily hire Will again.
Evan is a wonderful pet sitter. My dog and cats were happy and calm when I arrived home after a week. The house was more organized than when I left. She even indulged my sphinx kitten with one of “her” sweaters that she drags out of my closet after Evan texted me about the matter that I’d failed to describe in the care instructions. I knew she was professional, kind, and vigilant upon our initial meet & greet and so did my pets!
Caitlyn went above and beyond to provide excellent care for our boys this weekend. She’s cared for them before and consistently takes care to send photos and notes each day with updates. This weekend, Denver was goofing off in ways characteristic of his frenetic personality and managed to damage a dewclaw. Caitlyn coordinated care for Denver with us, including first aid and then taking him for further care at the vet clinic. Caitlyn documented the information and medication from the vet, following the instructions from the vet for the first couple of days before our return, including staying a little longer to ensure Denver received his medication.
Sarah is absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of our dog and cats while we were traveling. She kept us updated throughout her sitting with many photos of our happy fur babies. It gave us peace of mind that our babies and home were so well taken care of. We highly recommend Sarah for all your pet sitting needs! She is a sweetheart!
