“Kelly was absolutely incredible! She watched our two cats and energetic puppy for a whole week and always kept us up to date on how they were doing through pictures and detailed texts. We can definitely tell she made them feel extremely comfortable while their parents were away and gave them lots of love. If you need someone who is responsive, caring, communicative, and can make your pets feel comfortable while you’re away, Kelly is fantastic. She will go above and beyond for you and your pets, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thanks for everything Kelly, we will absolutely be booking with you again. Migo, Liam, and Maggie already miss you!”

“As usual, Madi was the absolute most caring, trustworthy, communicative, timely dog sitter. We had an all evening engagement, and it feels so nice leaving our pup with someone we so totally trust for such a long time. She sent great pictures, made sure he got plenty of exercise, and gave him lots of attention. Strudel is always excited to see Madi and we understand why. We have now booked Madi several times, and will continue to do so. So if you need a repeatable, dependable dog sitter , you should look no further!”

About: I currently work at a dog rescue. I volunteered as a dog washer at the humane society for a year. I pet sat relatives dogs in their home. I know how to respect dogs boundaries. Right now my schedule is somewhat flexible. I am available weekdays and weekends. I am unavailable on Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 4pm to 730pm. I am respectful of everyone’s home and treat it how I’d want a pet sitter to treat my own. I know the signs to take it slow with dogs and cats.

About: As a lifelong dog owner, I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. I currently care for my own dog and know how important it is to have someone you can trust when you’re away. Whether it’s walks, feeding, playtime, administering basic medications, or simply keeping your pet company, I’ll treat them with the same patience and care I’d want for my own family. I’m dependable, communicative, and happy to send regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide dependable care throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Whether your pet needs a walk while you’re at work, drop-in visits, overnight care, or extra attention while you’re away, I’m committed to keeping their routine consistent. I pride myself on being responsive, punctual, and providing regular photo and message updates so you always know how your pet is doing. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I carefully follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications (when needed), and any special instructions. My home has a securely fenced backyard for supervised play, and my friendly doodle, Kuzco, enjoys meeting other dogs when introductions are appropriate. If your pet is more comfortable on their own, I’m happy to accommodate that as well. I treat every home with respect and every pet like they’re part of my own family.

“Michelle was really great. She was prompt and clear when communicating with me. She sent pictures and updates through out each day. Most importantly she was understanding and patient with ME as I explain in detail a lot of what my dogs need. I have a 13 yo and a 13 month old, both labs and each comes with some very specific handling needs especially around feeding and walking and Michelle was open to letting me communicate these needs. Her care and attention to the dogs' needs helped me relax on our vacation. I will definitely be asking her again to stay with the dogs. Thanks Michelle”

“This is my second time going with Kim and she’s amazing! My pup never wants her to leave! I never thought my anxious pup could be so comfortable! She even cleans up a bit after her stay which is always appreciated!”

“I'd recommend Melissa to ANYONE looking for of a kind, professional and trusting Petsitter. ❤️ she took such good care of my fur babies, was very communicative, and sent awesome pictures/recurring updates. I loved coming home to happy puppies that clearly looked like hey had the best time with Melissa. Thank you so much, girl ❤️”

5/5 Stars – The absolute best pet sitter you could ever find! If you are looking for someone who will love and care for your pets like their own, look no further than Ashley. We’ve used plenty of dog sitters over the years, and Ashley is hands down the best we’ve ever had. A few things that made her stand out: Incredible Communication: She kept us updated throughout the day, and waking up every morning to cute photos of our pups gave us complete peace of mind. Treated Our Pups Like Royalty: The dogs were so happy, loved, and well cared for. Honestly, when we came home, I’m pretty sure they were glad to see us but a little disappointed it wasn't Ashley walking back through the door! Treated Our Home Like Her Own: She brought in all our mail and packages, washed her sheets, and did all the dishes. Coming back to a completely spotless house was such an amazing feeling after traveling. We will never look for another dog sitter unless she happens to be unavailable. We cannot recommend Ashley enough!

We trust Lorene with our senior dog and with our home while we are away on vacation. She has an excellent communication style, pays attention to all of the details of managing our dog and our home, and navigates all of it in a professional manner. No hesitation to rebook with Lorene!

Kaitlin was an awesome sitter for our dog, Luna and our cat, Hiccup! Kaitlin took great care of our house and pets and provided nice photos and updates everyday! Kaitlin is very conscientious and great at communicating and we couldn't have had a better experience!

I can’t say enough good things about Bristol! We have a senior dog with cancer and also an elderly bunny. Normally we have family watch them, but we recently moved to a new town and needed to find someone who could be with them basically all day. She was so consistent with her communication, making sure we knew exactly what the status of our dog’s medications and feedings were; she made sure our dog didn’t overexert himself on walks during the heat wave; she stuck with our bunny’s schedule and made sure she was tucked away at night before bed. She is the best!!!

Priya did an amazing job taking care of Truffle at our home. She was very respectful, responsive and responsible and sent me lots of pictures and videos of Truffle, and detailed updates on how he was doing. She is kind, loving and trustworthy, I could tell she played with Truffle a lot, and gave him plenty of rest time as well. Truffle was happy to be home in his own comfortable setting, seemed not missed us much at all thanks to Priya staying there.

Our dog was so excited to meet Alex for the first time that he quivered all over! We knew it was a match. Since Bear is 100+ lbs, we needed someone who is strong and can command respect. Alex is that person, and he does his job with love. He sent us daily communications and photos about walks, grooming, feeding, etc. Bear was in good hands. We came home to a happy dog and a clean home. Actually, I think Bear is missing Alex today. We will definitely call on him again!

Andrea was an amazing sitter for our dog, Remi! She came to our house for a meet & greet before house sitting, so Remi could meet her and feel more comfortable with her from the start (he suffers from separation anxiety). We hadn't originally planned on needing her to manage a special diet and medication, but when it came up, she was more than willing and adapted right away. She sent multiple updates a day with photos of how he was doing, was incredibly responsive throughout, and left the house clean and tidy. Having someone well-versed in anxious dogs and that we trusted from the start made a real difference. We'd be thrilled to have her watch Remi again and would highly recommend her to anyone in the area!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Legato on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Legato walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Legato maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Legato choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Legato. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
