*** PLEASE READ PROFILE IN ITS ENTIRETY PRIOR TO BOOKING *** I LOVE animals! Big pets to little pets! I've cared for and have had pets such as dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, lizards, and fish since I was little! Miranda is a pleasure to work and speak with. I appreciate all the photos and how my dog gets to play with other dogs when he is at her home!

Schedule

***Meet and Greets at my home or agreed upon location are REQUIRED prior to initial booking to ensure I am fostering a safe environment for all clients. :) BOARDING: - Weekends and Federal Holidays: I can board multiple pets per night and accept pets from multiple families. However, I try to book no more than 3 pets per night but I may make exceptions for regulars who are well-behaved and integrated into the pack. I only accept non-crate trained dogs on a case-by-case basis. They must be non-destructive with no signs of separation anxiety. - Weekdays: I work 7:30 am - 4:30 pm during the week. I can board 1 free-roaming and non-destructive and no separation anxiety pet (or 1 set of family pets) during the work week along with crate-trained pets. These pets must be able to be left alone during the work day, either free-roaming (if non-destructive and with no separation anxiety) or in their crate. Again, dogs with destructive behaviors or separation anxiety will not be accepted during the work week. I work nearby and can come home for a lunchtime check-in most days. I also have in-home cameras to provide constant supervision when away from home. **Pick-up and Drop-off hours will only be between 5:30pm - 8:30pm during the weekdays. DOGGY DAY CARE: I'm available weekends, federal holidays, and after 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Meet-and-greets in my home or agreed-upon location are REQUIRED prior to initial booking to ensure I foster a safe environment for all clients. Doggy Day Care requests beyond 10 hours will be charged $20 per additional hour. ** I offer pet pick-up and drop-off services except for locations inside D.C.

Safety, trust & environment

* REQUIRED: - For the safety of myself and any other animals present at my home during the duration of service, I require full vaccination and preventative records. The vaccines I require are rabies, distemper, and canine parvovirus, and the preventatives I require are heartworm and flea and tick preventatives. - Vaccines that are recommended but not required are Lyme disease, leptospirosis, and canine influenza. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: **I may be caring for 2-4 animals at any given time, be it through boarding or daycare. As a safety precaution, I never introduce a first-time dog to other dogs I have not personally met first.** ** Upon request, I can limit my services to one family at a time at an increased price due to the singularly focused care of your pet and the blocking of my remaining boarding/daycare schedule. ** I can provide injections and specialty medical care for your pets. While I do not commonly provide medical care to animals, I’ve been a medic for 16+ years, treating a variety of conditions on humans, so I am confident of my ability to provide care and attention to your pet. Please provide clear instructions for medications (route, dose, site, etc.) or any other medical care. **I occasionally foster animals, but I only foster dogs that are kid—and dog-friendly and show no signs of aggression. If I foster a cat, they are kept in a separate space and never interact with boarding dogs/cats. I have a HUGE fenced-in backyard, a dog/cat-proof home, and a 4-year-old neutered GSD-mix (55 lbs) who loves dogs and cats (even though most cats want nothing to do with him :D ). Your pet can come and get some energy out with us! I love to give the little and older pets cuddles and places to relax, and for the more active pets, we will go on walks, hikes, or runs and give lots of cuddles! I have two kids (10 & 12) who also have a lot of experience with animals, but please let me know before booking if you have a kid-reactive pet. I may still be able to provide care for them on the days my kids are not in the home, but that would need to be coordinated prior. I am very flexible and accommodating regarding food preferences, bathing, bed routines, etc. I am also comfortable caring for pets, still working on their training and manners, and some reactive pets (depending on the cause and level of reactivity). All pets are fed separately to prevent any resource guarding. If I need to leave the home (store, run, dog walk, children's extracurriculars, etc.), all pets are kept separate from one another and on camera for easy supervision when I am away. Again, a meet and greet is REQUIRED prior to booking to ensure your pet and I (and my pup) will be a good fit. Rest assured that your fur baby will be in great hands!!

Pets

A typical day

Our activities will be based on your pet's needs. If your pet just needs to lounge and relax I have ample space inside and outside! For exercise, they will be taken on leisurely walks and have plenty of time to smell and examine their surroundings. If you have a high-energy pet who needs to stay on the go, I can provide that as well! I like to take these pups on long walks, hikes, and runs (if they are leash-trained for running)!

I'd love to know more about your pet before they come to stay with me. The questions below show information that would be useful! - Has your pet ever been boarded before? - Is your dog crate trained? - What is the average length of time you leave your pet home alone (crate vs. free-roaming)? - What words/cues does your dog know? - Does your dog have a recall? - What are their favorite activities? - Does your pet have any healthcare concerns I should be aware of? - Is your pet on any dietary restrictions (each pet will be fed separately to avoid any resource guarding)? - How well does your dog walk on a leash/do they have anything that triggers their reactivity (other dogs, cars, squirrels, bikes, etc)? - Has your pet ever shown any aggression/fear towards other animals/people? - How does your pet inform you they need to use the restroom (whine, sit by the door, ring bells, etc.)? - Any destructive chewing, digging, demand barking, counter surfing, marking, humping, begging, etc.? - Does your dog have separation anxiety? - What is your pet's normal feeding schedule? - Where does your pet prefer to sleep at night? - Anything else you believe I should know?
