“I met Wyatt at the meet and greet, and he was super friendly. His dog, Alien, was also very nice to my puppy. Wyatt took care of my puppy for two nights and three days and sent me regular updates on how my puppy was doing throughout his stay at Wyatt’s house. I trust Wyatt, and my puppy and I will definitely be visiting him again soon!”

“Melissa did a great job watching our two dogs for a week. She was very responsive and asked good questions to ensure she understood each of their individual needs”

“Matt was great! He was very prompt with communication and sent me good updates throughout the stay. He was great at following my instructions, and my pup definitely enjoyed his company.”

“This was Reese’s first time being boarded, and I was quite worried. However, Iryna kept me at ease the whole time with regular updates, photos, and videos. She was incredibly kind and attentive. Reese was happy and well cared for when I picked him up, and I’m so grateful for her patience and exceptional care. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring dog sitter!”

“Corey took excellent care of my pup while I was out of town for 5 days! I got pictures each day and he was quick to respond to my messages. Corey has very sweet dogs of his own, so Kota always had someone to play with. I will certainly be a repeat client - thanks Corey!”

“Samantha's mom, Leslie, watched my dog Miso for a few days. I could tell Miso was very happy staying overnight and Leslie provided regular updates on a daily basis to make me feel at ease. ☺️ Samantha and Leslie are great and I would definitely recommend! I will definitely be happy to have Miso stay with them again in the future.”

“Biscuit had a great stay with Ellis! She sent lots of pictures and an update every day. She was flexible and understanding when our flight was canceled and we got back later than intended.”

“Leslie was a wonderful host for our french bulldog Rosie while we were out town. She's very friendly, thoughtful, and caring. She was also very conscientious about breed needs, like making sure Rosie stayed cool and not overheated during this summer weather. She made sure Rosie had plenty of fun indoors playing. We can tell she really gave a lot of attention and love. We loved receiving photos and updates each day to let us know how our pup was doing. Rosie had a great little vacation with Leslie. We feel so grateful to have found her!”

“Kim was everything I had hoped for. She was kind and attentive and she let our Lily feel right at home, giving her the run of the house and yard, and her choice of comfy beds. She provided great communication and lots of pictures to help reassure us that all was going well. This was our first Rover experience and we feel very fortunate to have found Kim!”

“Omar and his family took such great care of my Bella while I was away. From the moment I dropped her off, I could tell she was in a warm, welcoming environment. She had a blast playing with the other dogs and soaking up all the attention they gave her. What really stood out was the communication. Omar kept me updated with messages, and pictures which made it so much easier being away from her. I could see she was happy, relaxed, and truly being cared for like one of their own. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with him again. Bella came home happy, and that says everything.”

“Andrew took great care of our dog Apollo. I was apprehensive about using Rover for the first time, but Andrew quickly eased my concerns with his responsive messages and meet & greet with our dog. Apollo looked very content and well cared for when we picked him up - we’d definitely book with Andrew again and would recommend him to my friends!”

“Very accommodating schedule-wise and understanding of dogs’ individualized needs! Appreciated the communication with updates and pictures during the stay. Will reconnect when needed :)”

“Suzi always takes the best care of our baby… and she loves her as much as we do. Normally Penelope RUNS when we try to drop her off at a boarder or sitters but with Suzi she waltzes in like no big deal. Thank you Suzi! Our favorite sitter ever.”

“Maria took amazing care of my dog, Griffin, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. She was attentive, kind, and made sure he was comfortable, happy, and well cared for the entire time. She also sent daily updates and followed the instructions given to her. It was clear she genuinely loves animals and treated Griffin like her own. I had complete peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I would absolutely recommend Maria to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter.”

“Piri's Place is nothing short of amazing! We left our sweet senior cocker spaniel with Jane for a 10 night stay while we were traveling internationally for our wedding. I have followed Jane and Piri's Place for over 5 years on social media and I knew she would be the ONLY person I could trust with the care of our baby while we were gone for such a long time. We drove an hour and a half just so Teddy could stay there and wow was it worth it! Her attention to detail with her daily reports along with beautiful photos kept us completely at ease while we were away. I knew Teddy had such a fun time hanging out there. I wish we lived closer so we could take him to Piri's Place more often. THANK YOU, JANE!”
“We left our puppy for several days with Taylor. She sent us daily updates and pictures. We loved hearing about his time with his friends with her loving care. We highly recommend Taylor!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Centreville
A few days into our planned two week trip to Scandinavia, we got a call from Joanna. She reported our dog behaving differently, and then a day later pooping with blood. She rushed Bluey to her closest vet, and our dog was diagnosed with pancreatitis, a potentially fatal condition for young dogs. Joanna took Bluey to the vet two more times and faithfully cleaned up after our dog who continued to have accidents in the house. She medicated Bluey as directed and was able to care for Bluey until we could find a city to cut our trip short and return home. We owe John and Joanna many thanks for caring for Bluey and potentially saving his life.

This was repeat boarding sessions for Luna our Cockapoo with Leonard, Patricia and their two dogs. Luna was very excited to be dropped off to play again with them and was very happy and slept very well her first night back. Leonard chats with us each day and usually always has a picture(s) or short movie clip to share with us. Really love that Luna has somewhere like this to go play, rest, and have fun !! Thanks again !! Jim

Zahra and her family did an excellent job looking after my little guy. Super responsive and they have an amazing space for you doggies to run around in. Their home was clean, they sat down with me to discuss Xerxes’ needs and made sure to check in when he was with them. I have to also note that she showed a tremendous amount of patience and flexibility when I had a delayed flight from my trip. Would definitely entrust my little guys care to them again.

We cannot thank Catherine enough for the service that she provides. Our pup is always very happy to arrive at Catherine’s and, more importantly, happy and relaxed when he returns home. Catherine was so kind and flexible when our flight was canceled, resulting in what we anticipated would be a very, very late pick up. You should not hesitate to make a booking with her. She will take very good care of your fur baby.

I was incredibly nervous leaving my dog reactive GSD with someone besides family and friends, but Angelina did an amazing job taking care of Zara. Zara was loved on, given tons of attention and was treated the way I’d treat her at home. Angelina asked how often I wanted updates and always sent them at the best times. Zara didn’t seem stressed when she left and because of all of this, I would absolutely book with Angelina again.

This is our second time leaving our furbaby, Peach, with Poornima and she did a wonderful job looking after her! Poornima sent pictures, videos, and updates throughout the day which we really appreciated. Her dog, Arjun (also lovingly known as Joe!!), is very sweet and the best pup friend Peach could ask for. We highly recommend Poornima as she is an amazing and attentive sitter!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
