“Incredible first time experience using Rover by choosing Taylor. She was so communicative and sent pics and videos every single day, letting me know immediately if she had any questions or concerns. She gave our puppy lots of outside time and bonding time with other pups. I felt that my puppy was so well taken care of and safe. Even gave us a gift bag as a way of thanking us - so sweet! I would 100% recommend!”

“Derek and his family were wonderful with Jace. This was my first time ever using Rover for boarding my dog, and they made the experience so comfortable and easy. I received pictures and updates throughout the stay, letting me know he was doing well and having a good time. Will definitely have Jace stay with them again!”
“Lauren took such great care of my Teddy while I was out of town. Plenty of walks and play time, he looked so happy in every photo she sent (except for the ones he was peacefully snoozing in). I’d leave Teddy with her again anytime!”

“Emily was wonderful with our senior pup Regen! Excellent communication and frequent pics. Bo (the resident pup) was also a gracious host. Regen seemed very comfortable there. We’ve already booked another stay, and have another (longer) one coming up!”

“Our cavapoo had a great time with Gilbert! We are especially grateful for the timely communication when our dog got into something he shouldn't have. We were informed immediately and we figured out a solution followed by close monitoring. Our dog is fine and I will have no hesitation to book again with Gilbert.”

“Kelly was amazing! JJ had such a great time and a friend to play with the whole time. Kelly sent me many pictures which I appreciate, and they were always of JJ comfy or having a great time. Highly recommend!”

“Cheryl was amazing with Tito!. His first time there was for 3 nights and Cheryl was so patient and kind with Tito and all of his quirks. I felt so comfortable knowing that he was in such good hands while I was away and Cheryl kept me updated with texts and photos! TIto loved being able to play in her fenced in yard and I will definitely be asking Cheryl to watch Tito in the future!”

“Omar and his family took such great care of my Bella while I was away. From the moment I dropped her off, I could tell she was in a warm, welcoming environment. She had a blast playing with the other dogs and soaking up all the attention they gave her. What really stood out was the communication. Omar kept me updated with messages, and pictures which made it so much easier being away from her. I could see she was happy, relaxed, and truly being cared for like one of their own. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with him again. Bella came home happy, and that says everything.”

“Katrina is a fantastic dog sitter; I could not ask for more. She is kind, considerate, and responsible, and gave great care to our dog, Peanut, updating us consistently with pictures and comments and asking questions when needed. Although robust, Peanut is 13 years old and deaf (always been), and leash reactive. Katrina did a great job of watching over her as a dog that couldn't be dogsat with other dogs, giving her her medication on time, and keeping her happy! Thank you Katrina :)q”

“I wish there were 10 stars. I feel lucky to have found William! Lainey was very happy when I picked her up! She acted like she had been on vacation bc she was soooo spoiled by William while he had her! He communicate with us daily and sent cute pictures and comforting words!”

“Alisha was such a great host for my dog while I was away on vacation. She was very accommodating to some of my last minute trip changes. I received lots of great pictures of my dog while I was gone, and I always felt that my dog was in great hands. I would definitely recommend Alisha to anyone who needs a dog sitter!”

“We had our dog stay two nights with Sierra and she was absolutely amazing! She sent updates and photos, she always kept us informed. Our dog is super anxious and has separation anxiety and Sierra was so patient with him and made him feel comfortable right away. We can’t thank her enough.”

“It was sort of last minute however, Elisa & James were able to accept my request. They are fantastic. They treated Ms. Ellie like their own. They took care of our furry baby with great hospitality. Hope to be able engage with them again.”

“Ksenia and her husband Hugo are very kind people. Ksenia asked a lot of questions at the meet and great so that made us feel comfortable that she was thinking about our dog’s needs. Our guy has some separation issues and wasn’t up to being separate at night so Hugo slept in the living room with him. Which was way beyond what was expected. Butcher came home tired but in good spirits.”

“Carl was a great sitter! He set me tons of photos while we were away, took him to a park to play fetch, and even gave him a doggy bag of treats to take home. We will absolutely use Carl again!”

“John and Sonia were great. John sent me updates and photos of how Wendy was doing through out her stay with him, and I could see that she was enjoying her time with John and Sonia. I am glad I found him on Rover. I won't hesitate to entrust Wendy under his care.”

“Repeat customer for doggy day care, but this was Mocha's first time boarding ever! LaurieBeth as always made Mocha feel right at home and sent me updates / pictures throughout the day. I know Mocha is safe and sound when she stays with LaurieBeth. I also appreciate her patience with Mocha as we continue to work on her reactivity and obedience training.”

“Elena and her daughter, Anna, were wonderful! My two vizslas are a handful and they kept them happy and active. Anna shared photos of them every day and kept me informed throughout the week. I will definitely have them watch Rookie and Ike again!”

Sydney was a wonderful pet sitter for my dog. I appreciate Sydney being flexible and helping me out on short notice. She took really great care of my dog and sent me lots of picture updates while I was away, which I appreciated a lot. My dog looked very happy and got lots of exercise and cuddles
This is our second time having Daphne sit Bryce, and they were absolutely AMAZING with him! Kept in touch everyday with great communication, pictures, and asked questions when they were ever concerned about anything. She was able to accommodate to his needs and was so flexible that it made everything such a weight off of our shoulders. Bryce felt more than comfortable, he was right at home!! We would 10/10 recommend her to anyone who needs sitting services, especially if she’s able to be available for you. No complaints, concerns, regrets..just puts you right as ease about your fur baby while you’re away and that’s such a huge help. Thank you so much!!! Again and again, we will always appreciate you, your time, efforts, and dedication to making sure they’re treated as if they’re your own!!

We had an incredible experience with Amethyst for our pet. It took no time for her to understand our pet’s nature to start taking care of him. She was very punctual with her updates which made our vacation go so smoothly. We feel so lucky to have found Amethyst for our pet’s boarding needs!
Amanda is amazing! Gizmo had a tough time getting used to things at first, but Amanda was so patient and flexible with his schedule that he felt much more at ease. She’s incredibly caring, and we really appreciated her daily updates. She kept us in the loop about any concerns and made us feel confident that Gizmo was in great hands. I would highly recommend her, and I’d definitely trust her with Gizmo again in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
