Akshata is a thoughtful and kind person. She took my WALL-E in with open arms. She updated me with photos and has great communication. The love that she has for animals is authentic. WALL-E IS EXCITED to go to day care when arriving. Akshata pays attention to what's required for your fur baby. Which I'm so thankful to have met her. Thank you so much for caring for my Lil fur guy!!

Bottom line, this was my second time using Vivian and she is my go to person to watch Mello. She watched Mello while I was out of town for a few days. During that time, I received updates on how Mello was during in both picture and video form. Mello looked forward to going over for doggie daycare and play with Biscotti. Vivian treated Mello like she was her with dog. Looking forward to using her again in the future

Mocha is a regular client of LaurieBeth's since we adopted her a few months ago. Mocha is always so excited to spend the day with her and gets lots of affection and exercise. I am also super appreciative of LaurieBeth because Mocha is working on her obedience training and LaurieBeth didn't hesitate to help us reinforce the behaviors. So grateful!

Aastha and her family did the most wonderful job taking care of Winston! They were incredibly attentive, loving, and welcoming, and I felt completely comfortable leaving him in their care. Their home is warm, inviting, and very pet friendly. Winston absolutely loved playing with their dog Scoops and had such a great time running around and enjoying their backyard. It was clear that Winston was treated like part of their family, which meant so much to us. I would 100% recommend Aastha to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and genuinely loving with pets. We will definitely be using her again! ❤️🐾

About: We’re a dependable mother–daughter pet-sitting team with 30 years of combined experience caring for, training, fostering, and loving animals of all shapes and sizes. 🐾 Over the years, we’ve cared for dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, birds, fish, and many other pets. Our own family has included Whippets, Labs, Shepherds, Mastiffs, Basset Hounds, and Chihuahua mixes, and as sitters and fosters we’ve cared for many more breeds—including Bulldogs, Retrievers, Huskies, Poodles, Mountain Dogs, Great Danes, and plenty of wonderful mixed breeds. 🐕 🐕‍🦺 🦮 🐩 One of us is working toward dog-training certification, and we both have puppy-training experience. 🦮🚶‍♀️ We gently reinforce good habits, routines, and leash manners through patience, consistency, TLC, and positive handling. Most importantly, we understand that every pet has its own personality, pace, and needs. As home owners ourselves who have lived in three different neighborhoods in the DMV, we specialize in providing attentive, respectful, and reliable care while keeping your pets comfortable in the surroundings they know best--your home! When your pet stays with us, they become part of the family. Our home is set up with safety and comfort in mind, with a secure fenced yard, indoor gates, and separate spaces when pets need a little room of their own. Our designated pet areas—including our family room—are cleaned at least once daily and stocked with plenty of blankets, toys, and chew toys. 🪢 🥎 🧺 (See photos attached to our profile). Our cats stay comfortably upstairs, giving them their own space away from visiting dogs. Most important, someone is always home with your pets. They get lots of companionship, attention, affection, and access to our outdoor space whenever they want it. What we offer with our services: 🏡 Fenced yard 👩‍👧 Mother–daughter care team with 30 years combined experience 🏠 Someone is always home 🐶 No more than 2 dogs/families boarded at one time 🎓 Dog-training experience/certification in progress 🐕 Experience with everything from Chihuahuas to Great Danes ❤️ Dogs treated as part of the family Mom is the primary sitter, with her daughter—an apprentice vet and lifelong animal lover—often helping out. We’d love to provide reliable care for your pets at home or welcome them into our home! ❤️ We are currently working flexible hours and one of us is out of school for the summer, so we have plenty of time and flexibility to play with your pups! When we welcome you pets into our home, someone is always home with them. We are experienced dog walkers comfortable caring for pets in urban, suburban, park, and country settings. Whether your dog enjoys neighborhood walks, park outings, or a calmer pace, we adjust to each pet’s personality, energy level, and routine. For pet sitting in our home, we have a gated kitchen/family room area where pets can stay safely with us, as well as a fenced patio where they can get fresh air and companionship. We have the ability to separate your pets from other pets if that helps them feel secure. We can also crate your pet if that is part of their normal routine or helps them feel secure.

Jon and Johanna are great care providers. I felt totally confident with their help with my dog Enzo. They clearly love dogs, especially dachshunds and are very structured in keeping my dog engaged and active and involved with training and fun activities. I will definitely keep them in mind for future bookings. I really appreciate the help they gave me this week.

About: Our family of five discovered just how much joy a dog can bring when we welcomed our Coton de Tulear, Kova, into our home. Since then, caring for him has become something we all enjoy—from walks and playtime to simply spending time together. Kova is naturally a little anxious, so he’s taught us to be patient, observant, and respectful of every dog’s unique personality and comfort level. We’ve also experienced what it’s like to trust someone else with a beloved pet when we’ve traveled, and those positive experiences inspired us to become Rover sitters ourselves. My goal is to provide the same peace of mind to other families by treating every dog with kindness, patience, and genuine affection. For me, pet sitting isn’t just about feeding and walks—it’s about making sure each dog feels welcomed, comfortable, and loved until they’re back with their family. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine because we already plan our days around Kova. Every day includes walks, outdoor time, play, meals, and plenty of companionship. Since either my wife or I work from home every day, someone is almost always home to provide attention, potty breaks, exercise, and care throughout the day. We’re also happy to follow your dog’s normal schedule, including meal times, medications, favorite activities, or any special instructions that help them feel comfortable. Your dog’s safety and comfort are our highest priorities. We have a fully fenced backyard for supervised play and live in a quiet neighborhood that’s perfect for walks. We take the time to make sure every dog settles in at their own pace and can provide separate space if they prefer a quieter environment. We’ll carefully follow your care instructions, including feeding routines, medications, exercise, and any special needs. To help you feel connected while you’re away, we’ll send at least one daily update with photos so you can see how your dog is doing and enjoy your time away with confidence.

About: I've had pets my whole life and know how much it matters to leave yours somewhere you trust. Your dog will be part of the household here — not crated in a back room — with plenty of attention, a regular routine, and photo updates so you know how the day is going. A few things to know about my setup: I have a yard, but it isn't fenced, so all potty breaks and outdoor time are leashed and supervised. Never off-leash. I have one dog of my own, a friendly female Bernedoodle named Dorothy. She's good with other dogs, and I'm happy to do a meet-and-greet first to make sure everyone gets along. I work from home, so your dog won't be alone for long stretches. Comfortable with puppies, senior dogs with special needs, and everything in between. For walks, I'll stick to whatever route and pace your dog is used to, and I'll let you know how it went. Happy to set up a free meet-and-greet before booking anything. My schedule is completely my own so I can tailor my day to what your dog is used to. Our usual routine is a walk/run in the morning and a walk with the whole family in the evening. Dorothy is crate trained and so can be right next to your dog to keep them company. I have a good sized yard where I can let the dogs out on leashes and a fenced in deck if they want to be outside. I live 5 minutes from an animal hospital and am used to the random ailments that come with taking care of dogs.

About: I've been with dogs since I was a kid, and honestly, I can't explain my attachment to these beautiful souls. When I look into their eyes, I see pure love—and I believe they deserve nothing less in return. For years, I've onboarded and cared for dogs, learning their personalities, their quirks, their fears. I understand separation anxiety deeply, and I make it my mission to turn your absence into comfort, not stress. When your dog stays with me, they're not in a kennel or with a "sitter." They're at home. Your pup will have: 1) A warm, cozy vacation home where they're part of my family—including my own dog, who provides constant companionship and helps anxious pups feel safe 2) Adventure & Exercise: Long walks, hiking trails, and outdoor playtime—because a happy dog is an active dog 3) Structure with Love: Meals on schedule, plus treats I've earned through their good behavior—think fresh boiled chicken, their favorite reward 4) Real Connection: I treat every dog like my own. Not because it's my job, but because I genuinely can't help it. I work from home, so the pups get 24/7 care and attention. My day revolves around the dogs: morning walks, midday adventures, weekend trials, regular potty breaks, scheduled meals, playtime, and constant companionship. They're never alone—never crated—never waiting. They won't experience separation anxiety here. They'll experience a loving home where they're part of my daily routine, every single day. Pups get a warm, cozy, dog-friendly environment where they're treated like family. They have access to comfortable spaces, toys, water, and safe outdoor areas. My own dog is here too, providing constant companionship—especially important for dogs with separation anxiety. They're never alone, never crated. Daily Care in My Home: Nutrition: Meals on schedule, portion-controlled, with fresh boiled chicken treats (their favorite!) Exercise: Multiple walks and hikes daily, playtime, outdoor adventures based on each dog's energy level Comfort: Bedding, safe spaces, cuddle time, and the security of knowing I'm always here Attention: Individualized care—I learn each dog's personality, fears, and needs from day one Health: Medication management, scheduled potty breaks, and monitoring their wellbeing

Deeksha was very sweet and patient with Kai. My dog is very shy, but he quickly felt comfortable around her. She also sent me many pictures of Kai as updates, which I really appreciated. Another thing I truly value about her is that she is punctual and always on time. My schedule is usually very busy, so I don’t have much time to waste. She even waited outside for me during pickups, which was incredibly helpful. I 1000% recommend her!

She’s always on time even for super early or super late drop off/pick ups which is hard to find. She’s accommodating to my schedule changes and is even willing to pick Pete up from my house! Overall have enjoyed brining Pete to Alisha’s and will continue to do so!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 4,967 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Dulles. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Dulles commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 4,967 sitters in Dulles, 86% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
