“This was our second time leaving our dog with Eun and he absolutely loves it there. He had a great time playing with her dogs. She sends lots of photos and videos, which really puts us at ease, and she’s super responsive to any questions. Thank you Eun!”

“Lisa and J. provided my dogs a home away from home. My two pups were fed and exercised regularly and treated like family. There was an ample back yard, safely fenced. They were very precise with following my instructions, responsive to questions and accomodating to change. My dogs were happy and I was comfortable that they were in good hands. We will definitely be boarding our pups with Lisa and J. again.”

“Fen received the best care while staying with Jennifer, her family, and their pupper Henry. Jennifer provided photos and updates throughout the weekend and always responded within minutes to my messages. Would love to have her care for our Fen again anytime!”

“Paras & Rohita were excellent boarders for my daughters pup Pushkin. They were very attentive and kept us updated with photos and remarks through out his stay. This kept me very comfortable during his stay. They were also very flexible and accommodating when my daughter’s flight was delayed. We will not hesitate to use their services again in the future.”

“Jill and Sean were absolutely wonderful with our dog, Gideon. They graciously agreed to a day trial run, which meant so much to us as we navigate some changes in his life. Since the passing of our older dog, Dino, Gideon has struggled with being separated from us and can become quite anxious at drop-off. Jill and Sean were incredibly patient, flexible, and comforting when Gideon became upset. They took the time to help him settle in and made him feel safe and cared for. Throughout his 7-hour stay, they sent thoughtful updates and photos that reassured us he was adjusting well and receiving lots of attention. It was clear that they genuinely cared about Gideon’s well-being and understood that every dog has unique needs. Their kindness and compassion gave us tremendous peace of mind. We are so grateful for the excellent care they provided and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, attentive, and loving pet sitters. Thank you, Jill and Sean, for taking such great care of our boy! 🐾❤️”

“Cody’s stay with Jungeun was great! Her home was a good fit for my dog - two kind adults who seemed to treat him as their own. It looked like Cody got lots of snuggles, playtime and walks outside. Jungeun provided a daily update with many photos and videos and she responded quickly to my questions via Rover. I will definitely use Jungeun again.”

“Victoria was WONDERFUL. She had such a calm and kind energy. While she watched our Rosie, she sent text and photo updates, which were so nice to receive. She took such great care of our dog, and we look forward to bringing Rosie back! We love Victoria!”

“Helen was so helpful when I was stuck in a challenging situation being out of the country for an extended period of time. She coordinated to pick up my dog from another sitter, sent lots of pics, and gave me tremendous peace of mind!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs many years, I love spending time with my furry friends. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me for feeding, walks, playtime, and overnight stays. I send photo updates, follow your instructions exactly, and keep your pet’s schedule consistent so they stay relaxed while you’re away. I work from home most days, which means pets in my care are rarely alone. Walks, feeding, and play sessions fit naturally into my day, and I stick closely to whatever routine your pet already knows. I have open availability for drop-in visits and house sitting throughout the week, including evenings. Your pet’s safety comes first. I keep dogs leashed at all times outdoors unless in a secure fenced area, double-check doors and gates, and follow your feeding and medication instructions to the letter. In your home, I respect your space, keep things tidy, and send regular photo and video updates so you always know how your pet is doing
“Lydia was a great Joy and did well with doing an Oreo. I could tell that they were in a good place with her and she was very loving with them will be returning in the near future.”

“Sudha is AMAZINGG!!! From the time we scheduled the meet and greet to the very end, Bailey and I both immediately felt so comfortable with Sudha and her adorable pup Thor. Bailey has stayed with many dog sitters, but she’s never warmed up to someone this quickly and I’ve never felt this confident in having someone outside our family take care of Bailey as I did with Sudha. Highly recommend!!!! ❤️”

“Our 70-pound lab/hound mix, Donny, just stayed with Maria for the second time and the experience was once again excellent. Maria is very responsive and communicative, sharing updates and photos throughout the stay. Normally Donny stays with family when we travel, but when they are unavailable it’s great to still be able to travel knowing Donny is having a good time and being well taken care of.h”

About: Lifelong dog lover! I grew up with two family dogs, and my husband and I adopted our first pup just one month into our marriage. Today we have an adorable 3-year-old Westie who our whole family (especially our son!) absolutely adores. We’ve also cared for many friends’ dogs while they travel and truly enjoy having furry guests in our home. Your dog will be treated like family—with lots of love, attention, playtime, and a safe, caring environment. My husband and I both work from home, so we have the time and attention to give your dog the care, supervision, and play they deserve. We also have a small, friendly pup who loves having company and enjoys making new furry friends. We have a secure, fenced backyard with plenty of space for your furry friend to play. We’re also happy to crate your dog if you prefer or follow any specific routines they’re used to.

“We left our dog Marlo with Derek for the weekend and he was great! He definitely knows his way around dogs and provided us with updates and pics throughout the weekend!”

About: I bring over 30 years of dog ownership and care experience, along with the patience and responsibility that comes from raising four children. I specialize in providing calm, structured, one-on-one care in a quiet home setting. I focus on small to medium, well-mannered, low-shedding dogs who thrive in a relaxed environment. While I do work full-time, my schedule is flexible and I live very close to both work and home, allowing me to easily check in on pets throughout the day. I intentionally limit my pet care to ensure each dog receives quality attention, structure, and a calm environment. My primary availability is weekends, where I provide focused, hands-on care. Pets in my home are cared for in a calm, structured, and loving environment where they are treated like part of the family. I maintain a safe, clean space and closely follow each pet’s normal routine as much as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, and rest time. Dogs are never left unattended for long periods, and I provide regular check-ins, attention, and supervision throughout their stay. Safety, comfort, and consistency are always my top priorities. In addition, I am a big walker and enjoy multiple 20 - 30 minute walks a day with my Goldendoodle and whatever friend is visiting with her.
“Nisha took exceptional care of my dog during his stay! He came back happy, and healthy. Nisha's attention to detail and genuine love for animals really showed. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Highly recommend!”
“This was our first time boarding at a Rover's house and Carolyn and family were a great fit for our senior girl with medication needs. She was very communicative with us and quickly troubleshooted an issue with us. We would definitely have our pup stay here again.”

Karmen (Kim) did a fantastic job of taking care of our dog Amber. She was very kind to Amber and really spoiled her! Amber was walked and well fed each day and by the time we picked her up she had become part of Karmen’s home! We received photos and updates each day. I am glad I decided to leave Amber with Karmen and not a kennel.
Deborah and Lotus are AMAZING. They took just wonderful care of my nervous nelly Sweetpea and he was right at home there for a week. Deborah sent lots of pictures of walks, playing, and Sweetpea curled up happily snoozing and I felt so reassured knowing he was in great hands. We will be repeat customers for sure! THANK YOU!!!!!

Our experience with Kara was wonderful from start to finish. She kept in touch throughout our vacation and sent regular photos of Brix, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was being well cared for. She was also extremely flexible with pickup and drop-off times, which made the whole process much less stressful. We would absolutely recommend Kara to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. And it’s worth mentioning that Brix is a high-energy Australian Shepherd—so if she can handle Brix, she can handle just about any dog!

Hands down the best dog sitter! I had complete peace of mind knowing my fur baby was in such loving, attentive, and capable hands. The updates, photos, and genuine care made all the difference. It’s clear Satyam and Shruti truly love dogs and treat them like family. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I highly recommend Satyam to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, reliable, and exceptional!

Mohammed and his daughter took such good care of my Abby while I was out of state for a family trip for 10 days. She came back happy and very sleepy which means she had a great time! I got daily photo updates of her on walkies and an A+ report card of her behavior. Would love to have Abby with Mohammed for a future stay again if the availability and stars align.

Daphne and her family did a great job taking care of our dog! He needs a lot of medication bc of an autoimmune disease (pills, eyedrops) and they did a great job administering all of those things to avoid any flare ups. Daphne sent me lots of pictures and updates on our trip, so I felt better knowing he was well taken care of. He even looks cleaner coming back to us - thank you for taking care of him!

Ali was wonderful with Penny, we received daily photos and communication for two weeks. Penny felt right at home, she looked happy, relaxed and well taken care of. Penny came home bathed and with a a sweet note and new toy. We have found Penny’s home away from home and will be rebooking soon. Highly recommend Ali to take care of your fur babies.

Anuradha was an amazing dog sitter! She took wonderful care of our pup and kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay. It was clear our dog felt comfortable, loved, and well cared for. We highly recommend her and will definitely book with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
