“Kayla has taken care of our cat Max several times now and always does an outstanding job. She helps us out with smaller things like taking in the mail and putting the trash out, and getting packages. We trust her and appreciate her fondness for our pet!”

“Nicole took such great care of our senior dog and two cats while we were away for a week. She provided us with helpful updates every visit and sent cute pictures. We will definitely hire her again in the future. Thanks Nicole!”

It’s clear she truly loves animals, and we really appreciate how reliable and kind she is. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pets!”

“I highly recommend Valerie for any services. Seriously….no need to look anywhere else! She was knowledgeable, flexible, professional, and the most important part is, my cat loved her. Thank you Valerie, and we hope you’ll agree to come back again sometime!”

“Huckleberry was so excited to see Corinne after our meet and greet! Corinne was kind to Huck and gave him extra water and pets after his second walk of the day! Corinne genuinely likes animals and she was kind enough to accommodate my ever-changing schedule. Thanks Corinne !”

“So grateful for Karisa's excellent care. I booked her already twice and my cat(s) was/were in great hands. She was punctual and reliable, and was able to give my cat her medication. She sent me daily updates and photos, which helped ease my mind while I was away. I'll definitely be using her services again.”

“Very happy with our experience with Sara! She kept us up to date with pictures and how our cats were doing/feeling. They seemed to really look forward to her visit! Highly recommend.”

About: I grew up with a yellow Labrador for 14 years, so caring for dogs has been a constant part of my life. I have experience with daily walks and playtime to vet visits, feeding routines, and the patience that comes with care for both puppies and senior dogs. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs of all sizes and personalities, and will treat your dog like they're my own. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly schedule and is something I can easily prioritize. I currently work part-time as a swim instructor and coach, but my schedule is very flexible outside of that. I'm generally available on weekdays except for 4-6 pm, and I am unavailable Sunday mornings from 9-12:30. Outside of those hours, I have plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, playtime, and care throughout the day. Since I just graduated college, I have a lot of flexibility right now and enjoy structuring my day around being active and outdoors. I will prioritize keeping your dog's routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I will follow all instructions closely and understand how important familiarity is for pets, so I will aim to maintain their normal environment and habits to help them feel comfortable and secure while you are away.

“Sofia does a wonderful job taking care of our fur babies! She gives us so much peace of mind knowing she is here caring for them. Sofia is always incredibly responsive to suggestions we send during her interactions with our cats (we have one kitty who doesn’t like when we leave and needs special attention to make sure she eats better). We are so glad Sofia is here to care for our cats when we can’t be! Thank you Sofia!”

“Sarah was so nice and very responsive. She quite literally came to the rescue and took care of my dog last minute. I had a sitter booked (on wag) as I’m out of town, and they cancelled out of nowhere after the service had began and left Pinsir without any care. Sarah responded almost immediately and made time in her busy schedule to help us out and give him AMAZING care!! She really relieved all of my worries and I felt extremely comfortable having her as his person!! I would absolutely book with her again if I got the opportunity!”

“Mercedez was absolutely wonderful with our terrible trio of cats. She dealt easily with the medical needs of our senior cat, including giving fluids several times. She also managed to coax out Manny, who doesn't like change and spooks easily, and get him to not only be in the same room but actually let her pet him. Moe was his usual attention-seeking self and she kept him happy too. Mercedez was great with communication and providing pictures the entire time we were gone. I strongly recommend her as a pet sitter and will certainly ask her to watch the cats again.”

About: I’ve been taking care of both my own and my neighbor’s dogs since I was 8, and currently have two dogs of my own, including a senior lab- I understand senior dog care. I go to Penn state and am doing this to save money towards tuition. I’m local to Ashburn and am able to swing by any time I’m needed, which makes working with your animals much more convenient for you. I offer long walks, personalized playtime, and am always open to work with accommodations you may need. I’m willing to spend the night and keep your animals company.
“Super happy with the care provided for my dog and cat during the drop-in visit. Both were well taken care of. I had a last minute trip and June was available to assist. I appreciated the updates and photos, and it gave me real peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. Would definitely recommend and book again!”

About: I have taken care of, sat, and walked other dogs not just my own dogs for almost 10 years. I love dogs of all kinds! As someone who tries to maintain a balanced schedule, pet care is something I like to do when I have the free time during my day. I love giving my own dogs walks and I try to walk them at least once a day. Depending on what your rules are, I will respect and honor what you wish for me to do with your dog. I like to make sure that dogs are in the safest environment as well as being loved.

“Sydney was great! We booked last minute and were really relieved she was able to drop in on our kitties while we were away. She communicated well and made us feel like we didn’t have to worry. I realized I missed a few things in my instructions but she was able to roll with it and take care of everything. We really appreciated her help and would be happy to book with her again.”

Kelley was absolutely wonderful with Lucy! She did drop-in visits for us and made the entire experience so easy and stress-free. Kelley was reliable, communicative, and took such great care of Lucy while we were away. We really appreciated the updates and photos after each visit—they gave us so much peace of mind knowing Lucy was happy and being well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely book Kelley again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, kind, and dependable Rover sitter!

Nicole was excellent to work with! We enjoyed our week-long vacation worry-free knowing that our cat was in such great hands! She provided detailed and hilarious updates throughout the week with sweet and goofy cat pics to go along with. I will absolutely be reaching out in the future and hope others do too!

Mercedez has once again managed to win over our big Manny cat full of neurosis as well as Samantha, the crotchety old lady, and remain friends with Moe-I-Love-Everyone. She handled the magical disappearing cat with patience. She's wonderful with updates and pictures. I'd recommend Mercedez and will definitely book again.
Kelsey was fantastic in taking care of our two boys! She was very accommodating, communicative, and friendly. Her update cards were thorough with tons of pictures at each visit. It was clear that they loved her as well! The updates we received showed them having a good time and we came home to two happy and healthy cats! She even cleaned up some messes they made while we were away. We could not have asked for a better sitter and would highly recommend Kelsey in the future!!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Broadlands. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
