About: Hi everyone! My name is Courtney, and I’ve lived in Northern Virginia for many years. I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life and have always had a passion for caring for animals. My experience includes caring for family pets, pet sitting throughout middle and high school, volunteering with animal rescue organizations, fostering dogs and puppies, working as a doggy daycare attendant, and working as a dog bather at a pet resort. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and personalities, so I’m comfortable adapting to each pet’s unique needs. I was also a Rover sitter a few years ago before my account became inactive, so I’m excited to be back! I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I treat every pet like my own. My goal is to provide dependable, loving care while keeping your pet happy, comfortable, and safe in their own home. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! A quick note: I have a wonderful 4-year-old son who may accompany me during house-sitting stays. He has been around dogs his entire life and is very gentle, respectful, and understands how to interact with animals appropriately. He’s never had any issues with dogs and knows to always respect their space and follow my guidance. Of course, I’ll only accept bookings where clients are comfortable with this arrangement, and your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my top priority. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give your pet plenty of attention throughout the day. I work around their routine to ensure they receive consistent care, exercise, companionship, and lots of love while you’re away. My goal is to keep their day as normal and stress-free as possible. When caring for pets in your home, I do my best to keep them on their normal routine so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I’ll follow your instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and any special care your pet needs. I’ll also make sure your home is respected and kept clean, bring in mail or packages if requested, water plants, and provide regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

“We were delighted to find Melinda to care for our sweet English Bulldog. Melinda is reliable and responsive and communicates well! She was wonderful with our older dog, very patient to give her meds and drops. Hope to hire her again! Wonderful experience!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter than Cassidy! We have three cats, including one with diabetes, and Cassidy went above and beyond to make sure they were safe, comfortable, and happy while we were away. She downloaded the Libre app to monitor our diabetic cat’s glucose, gave him his insulin without issue, and kept in constant contact with us throughout the week with updates and the sweetest pictures. Even our shyest cat, who normally hides from strangers, came out to say hello by the end of the visit which is something that never happens! It was such a comfort knowing our fur babies were in such capable and caring hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Cassidy again!”

“Manasa is so sweet and thorough in caring for my babies! She asked questions before, during, and after to ensure all their needs (and mine) were met. She promptly notified me when they were not on their best behavior. The picture updated really provided me with a peace of mind and I’ve already booked her for my next pet care. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sterling
We are so pleased to write a review for Marcia! She remembered every detail that we shared with her about caring for our sweet kitty, Coco. She was conscientious, and arrived on time, telling us about each visit and sending photos and videos. Coco is a kitty who likes to hide from her sitters, but she made an exception for Marcia. We are looking forward to having her sit for us in the future.
Melinda was very easy and pleasant to work with from start to finish. We felt very comfortable having our dog in her care which made for a stress-free vacation for us. We could tell from the pictures Melinda took that our girl was happy and and from the notes that she was well cared for. Would happily hire Melinda again.

Lena was very thoughtful while dropping in on my little guy while I was away for the week. While I was away she even kept an eye on a hygrometer I'd set up just before leaving to make sure the dehumidifier I'd been using didn't over dry the air, and kept actively in communication. My cat felt the love and was 100% stoic when I got home (a good thing! He didn't feel so lonely!) Will be in touch with her again for my next out of town trip!

Abigail took great care of Cinders and Pepper whole their owners were away for the weekend. She followed all care instructions, gave them their medications, and spent a good deal of time with them so they didn't get lonely. We'll definitely think of Abigail again for next time!

Ashley was fantastic with my kitty! I really appreciate her last minute availability, flexibility, and her responsiveness. She really went the extra mile to make sure that my entitled kitty did not feel too lonely while we were out of town! Great service and definitely recommend Ashley to others looking for a sitter!

Victoria is truly the cat whisperer. I cannot recommend her enough. We needed someone to feed them while we were out and my kitties are always happy, well cared for, and comfortable when we come home, which gives me so much peace of mind while I’m away. Our cats are also super shy, but with Victoria they come out to say hi. I also really appreciate is her communication. She consistently sends thoughtful updates and pictures, which always brighten my day and reassure me that they’re doing well.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
