Availability

I get up early during the week and the dogs all get their morning walk then. Then it’s typically breakfast time! I am then driving the school bus for a couple hours and are back with them for about 5h before my afternoon similar shift. Then it’s walk time again and dinner usually happens at 6pm. Bed time is around 9pm when everyone goes to our bedroom. Always a treat then so dogs all run upstairs!

Information Valerie C. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences. We have had all sorts big and small over the year. We don’t mind special needs as long as we can accommodate their care. All are welcome!

A typical day

Our home offers trails whether going through the front or back of our yard. We have several routes selected by Nutella and now Ella approved too! Their favorite one includes a trail in the woods and through open common areas for optimal rabbit encounter possibilities!

Pet care experience

Our family lives in a single house at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. It has a nice fenced in backyard with lots of grass to run, 2 self closing gates and with close access to the neighborhood walking trails. Our upper deck is large(best squirrel/rabbits "watch tower" ever). Its gate when closed allows for that space to become a free roaming extension of the kitchen. There is no carpeting on the main (beside a few rugs) and 2nd level so it is easy to keep our floors sanitary in case of accidents. Ella is a mix of Airedale Terrier and German Shepherd. She joined our family in June 2020 from the same rescue group as our first full Airedale (and who was the original guest entertainer!). She is our Covid “puppy”! She learnt the ropes from the master before she passed away and is just the right amount of sweet and playful. Bring your dog's favorite toys and bed/crate or use ours. She doesn’t mind! No extra charge for playtime and snuggles in our household for sure. Everyone gets 2 daily walks of around 1/2h either with me or our 2 college kids when they are home. My husband works from home and occasionally join in too. We all like to exercise together! I have a part time job driving a school bus for LCPS with the summer off. Morning and afternoon shifts are perfect to spend most of my time with the pups and they love it! We understand that dogs don't like to be alone. When it happens, it is for minimal time. Ella has free range of the first floor and our master bedroom even though she is also crate trained. We treat our guest like our own and the same way! Over the years we have hosted many dogs and I always believed this is the best type of environment for our pets while traveling and being away. A home away from home. I was so pleased to find a website and service which promotes that philosophy for pet owners in our area. Our experience with DogVacay and now Rover keeps growing and we have been enjoying every minute of it! Lots of dogs have come through our doors these past 8+ years and repeat customers are the best as we get to see our favorite dogs again. Cant wait to get to know your pet and make him/her part of our family!

This is the second time that Valerie has cared for my dog and I’m 100% satisfied with her service. My dog always enjoys her stay and I have peace of mind knowing she’s well taking care of. Daily pictures, updates and easy to communicate with while I’m away. I’ll definitely utilize her service again in the future.
