“This was our first time boarding at a Rover's house and Carolyn and family were a great fit for our senior girl with medication needs. She was very communicative with us and quickly troubleshooted an issue with us. We would definitely have our pup stay here again.”

“Taylor was fantastic with my 2 dogs. She provided daily updates and photos and my girls came home happy and healthy. They will definitely stay with Taylor again and I recommend her to anyone in need of dog sitting.”

“Kayla has been watching my dog for several years. He is now a senior dog and just started having spells of anxiousness overnight. I was pretty nervous about leaving him for a week, but Kayla sent regular updates and took care of him so well, including keeping up with all his medications and maintaining his routine. She is an amazing sitter and I highly recommend her!”

“Iryna and James took care of our puppy really well! He enjoyed his stay with them. They were actively sharing my puppy’s updates, pictures and videos which were helpful. I would definitely use their services again!”

“Poornima is an incredibly kind and responsive sitter. Our first sitter cancelled last minute but Poornima was super flexible and accepted our booking on short notice. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing our dog, Peach, was in her care. She sent us a lot of pictures and took amazing care of Peach. Peach had a lot of fun with Joe, her chocolate lab as well. We really recommend Poornima if you need a sitter!”

“Musa and his family took such great care of my kitten, Grogu! It was obvious that Grogu was played with a lot and given great attention. Thank you, Musa! We would love to have you watch him again??”

“So appreciative of Emily’s care of our pup Ozzy! She kept us in the loop and sent great photos. Ozzy has a history of eating small toys and she was receptive to make sure he didn’t. Looked like Ozzy had a great time, he was tired and happy when he got home. Thanks Emily, can’t wait come back!!”

“Alexia was a great sitter! She kept me up to date on how my dog was doing throughout the holiday. It was great seeing sleepy pictures of my Opal - that’s how I know she’s happy!”

“Sierra was great! This was our second time having her watch our pup and we got daily updates with pictures and videos! She brought up any questions or concerns and we were able to talk through them. Will definitely book again!”

“Aysin took really good care of my dog Fidel! He was very calm when I picked him up which means he was treated very well. I am very happy to have found a place near my house where I would feel comfortable leaving my dog for boarding again.”

“Sujan was fantastic with our pup- it was his first time away from us so naturally we were a little anxious about it. Sujan clearly loves dogs and took excellent care of Bernie. His own dog is incredibly sweet and well-trained, as well.”

“Hoa was great! Our dog was a happy pup staying with her. She had lots of toys for him to play with and puzzles to get treats! Very kind, loved all the pictures and videos she sent while we were away”

“Cannot rave about Wyatt enough. He treated my pup like his own even when he wasn’t the easiest. I felt like he took care of my boy in the best way. I couldn’t ask for a better sitter.”

I was visiting family in another country for a month and my dog Zuki had never been away from home that long. Nami took excellent care of Zuki and gave me detailed updates of him which reassured me throughout my trip. Zuki adjusted well and I will be sure to book her again for boarding! 😊👍

I had an amazing experience with Jinah this past weekend! She took such great care of my dog, and I could tell from the moment I picked her up that she was happy, comfortable, and well-loved. Her home was very clean, safe, and welcoming, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. She kept my dog engaged with puzzles, toys, and fun activities instead of just letting her sit around all day. It was obvious she genuinely cared about making sure my dog was happy and stimulated. I truly appreciated the love, attention, and excellent care she provided. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive pet sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

This was our first time leaving Ace with Nisha & family, they made it a great experience. They followed our feeding and medication routines. I've received texts and daily photo updates. Ace seems warmed up and got along with their dog Tyrion and toddler son soon after he was left. It is so nice to be able to leave Ace with them and know that he is loved and taken care of when we are not home.
This was the best boarding experience ever for our 2 doxies! Nina took great care to ensure the instructions we provided were followed to the letter. She actively played with them; she also shared numerous photos & videos at regularly scheduled intervals every day. Nina’s 2 dogs are adorable too. We can’t say enough good things about this experience!

Our dog (Viko) felt at home with Katie. Viko stayed during the 4th of July weekend, and is scared of fireworks. Katie took great care of Viko during that time. Katie kept us updated daily with Viko's activities. We'll definitely use Katie's services in the future. ❤️🐶

Darlin was amazing with my 3.5 month old puppy. He needed to do a last minute vet visit before he was dropped off and she was incredibly flexible with our schedule, which helped reduce my stress before going out of town for a few days. While he was there it sounded like he had the best time and got a ton of love despite being deep into his land shark/piranha phase. It was such a relief to know that my pup was not only safe, taken care of, but was also having a truly great time. I highly recommend and will be looking to her next time I need someone to watch my pup!

Staying with Heather and her lovely family was a wonderful experience for our dog Nia. Heather offered a meetup before the visit which was helpful to get to know the family and her dog Rosie. During the stay, Heather shared pictures regularly - which was comforting to see that Nia was having so much fun. Nia missed them all when I picked her up and she was very sad for a day. I would definitely look for Heather for our future needs to sit Nia and highly recommend her to any one looking for their pet.

Vaani was absolutely wonderful! She was always quick to respond and incredibly easy to communicate with. We especially loved the photos she shared of our little furball. They meant so much while we were away. She took excellent care of Rosie, who came home happy, well cared for, and completely content. It was clear Rosie was in loving hands. I would highly recommend Vaani to anyone looking for a thoughtful and attentive cat sitter. She made the entire experience smooth and stress free, giving us real peace of mind during our travels.

Amy is wonderful pet sitter! My little dog has separation anxiety, Amy went extra mile to make him comfort. She handled him such a patience and genuine care. She is communicative with videos and updates, and attentive to details. Amy is affectionate to pets. I would certainly recommend her.
Irene was a wonderful sitter for Bella! She went above and beyond to ensure that Bella was comfortable and happy. She pays attention to details, asks good questions, and made Bella's stay as fun as possible. She noticed a small medical issue beginning during Bella's stay and clearly communicated the issues to us and worked with us to ensure Bella was treated quickly. We are so happy that Bella was well taken care of while we were out of town.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
