“AMAZING. By far our best experience with anyone on Rover! Priscilla was very communicative. Perfect amount of pictures and videos as well as updates on how the stay was going. I could really tell that our girl was getting the care and attention she is used to as well as play time. We have an English bulldog, and anyone with one knows their folds need daily care, and I could see Priscilla gave these areas attention care as well. I would feel most confident and comfortable bringing our girl back to Priscilla without hesitation!”

“Michelle took great care of my dog. When my dog was feeling anxious about being away from home, Michelle got her to relax, which was reassuring that my dog was in good hands. I recommend her.”
“Thank you so much Sujan for taking care of Gunner and Simba. You kept us up to date with activities everyday. They came home happy. Seems like they found their second home. Thank you for taking care of our babies 🙏🏼”

“Sang and Hee Suk were so good to my girl! They took excellent care of her and sent so many pictures and cute updates to me. I could tell from the photos she was having a great time & it put me at ease while away.”

“I boarded my dog for one night with Cindy and she was amazing! She kept me up to date on his eating and whether he went, and she sent me so many pictures of my pup which I loved because I missed him. She even had him during a doggie birthday party and it looked like my pup was having a blast. 5/5 would board with Cindy again :)”

“Our dog, Pickle, was right at home with Sam and his dog. They all welcomed him. Sam has a good understanding of animals and is attentive to their needs. I highly recommend Sam and I would definitely like to arrange future stays for our dog with him!”

“We were so happy with our experience with Helena and Nathan! After another Rover cancelled on us last minute, they fit us in and truly saved the day! Their yard was amazing - especially for our 95 lb mutt who just loves to run. And our little old man loved the cozy beds around the house. They sent pics and videos every day and our boys came back happy and healthy. As a bonus, while we have noticed our dogs often come back from Rovers smelling like a kennel, after a weekend with Helena and Nathan they came back smelling great!”

“Melissa is wonderful! She treated Linus like her own. We didn’t worry at all about him while we were gone for 2 weeks. She is a great communicator and loves dogs. Highly recommend! Thanks Melissa!”

“Nalleli and her family took wonderful care of our 15 yr old dog, Kiki. She was loved, had lots of cuddles and snacks and was very happy at Nalleli. I appreciate the care that Nalleli provided and look forward to booking her again to look after our pup when we’re away.”

“Hoa is a wonderful sitter. She was always updating us with pictures and videos. Hoa is very caring. She even put extra jacket for my dog when weather was very cold. I feel very lucky to find her and I will definitely use her again.”

“Jose took great care of our dog. He was incredibly responsive and sent daily photos which was very helpful since our little dog was staying with him for the first time. We will definitely call on Jose to sit for our dog again!”

“We had a wonderful experience boarding with Rachel! She asked all the right questions to make sure our Blue was a good fit and prepped us on what to bring in advance. I could tell she was experienced and that our pup would be in good hands. She sent a ton of pictures and gave us an update on how he was doing each day, which we loved. The goody bag at pickup was so sweet as well. We will definitely board with her again when we need to head out of town.”

“Mariel was fantastic. We knew our Minnie was in good hands. We received daily pictures and updates showing us how quickly Minnie settled in to her routine at their house. We knew she was being showered with love while we were away. Awesome experience! We would highly recommend Mariel as a pet sitter.”

“Carlos took fantastic care of our dog Eddie! He was very communicative, sent lots of pictures and updates throughout Eddie's stay and also took Eddie on several walks a day. He really took great care of Eddie and it was really the best Rover stay Eddie has had yet! I could tell Eddie had a great time going on walks, playing with Carlos's dogs and I will definitely have Carlos watch him again in the future!”

“Our first overnight without our new dog and Denise did an amazing job! We were so nervous but she sent regular photos and updates throughout. Will definitely return!”

“Thanks so much Han.! Loki had a great time with Han. She took great care of him. Rapid response with text and questions we had. Will definitely have loki stay with her again.”

“This was my pups first time being boarded and I was a bit anxious. Mei and her family took good care of Sandy and Oreo sending pictures and videos daily showing them on walks and in the house playing.Mei also sent pictures of their sleeping arrangements (I brought their dog beds) asking if it was a good set up for them. I would definitely recommend Mei and her family for anyone’s small breed fur babies.”

Mrs YJ L. was awesome with our 2 black labs. She is a gentle and kind lady who had no problem handling by 2 large dogs. She sent many photos each day showing how much fun our dogs were having in her care. They weren’t just playing by themselves with other dogs but I can see that she spent time playing with them. She provided toys and threw balls for them to catch. Her home provided a safe and comfortable environment for our babies. They came home healthy and happy. We can’t thank her enough for her accommodating style.

Tom did a wonderful job caring for Jennie while we were away! I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a loving family to care for their dog. He took her on energizing walks each morning before it got hot, and and gave her plenty of time to play with other neighborhood dogs, which she loves. Tom shared photos and videos daily of Jennie playing, walking, and feeling very much at home! We will definitely reach out to Tom the next time we need help.

Michelle was amazing with our two doodles! We could tell from the first visit they felt safe in her home and trusted her. Her home is very pet friendly and suitable for extended pet stays. She sent daily pix and videos of them. We could tell they were happy and she treated them with love like they were her own. Michelle's positive energy made it apparent our girls were safe in her care. We would definitely recommend her to anyone seeking a qualified pet sitter who will help you feel relaxed so you can enjoy your time away from your pets.

Aly was amazing with Cheeki! I left Cheeki with her for 10 days while I was traveling, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She sent pictures and updates every day, which gave me so much peace of mind and let me enjoy my trip knowing Cheeki was doing well. She was incredibly accommodating with some schedule changes on my end and was great about giving Cheeki her medications. She even offered to pick up more food when she noticed I was running low, which was so thoughtful. Communication was excellent throughout the entire stay. Aly was always quick to respond and kept me updated without me having to ask. Most importantly, I felt like Cheeki was genuinely cared for and treated like part of the family. I’m so grateful for everything Aly did and would absolutely trust her with Cheeki again. Thank you, Aly!

This was my first time having a non family member take care of my 16 year old dog. I found Suzi on Rover and felt comfortable with the reviews showcasing how great Suzi was with other senior dogs. Once I reached out to her and I got to visit her and get to know her as a person and her caretaking experience I knew I had found the right person to care for my dog for a long weekend trip. My dog felt right at home as soon as she arrived to Suzi's house and from then on she received only love and the best care. I got daily texts from Suzi telling me how things were going which helped me feel comfortable and enjoy my trip more. Suzi was 100 percent focused on meeting my senior dog's needs and medical limitations. I plan to continue using her caretaking services many more times. I feel very lucky to have found her.

Second time boarding my dog with Jennifer, and so glad I did! I got pictures and updates every day, Jennifer followed all the instructions for my dog's medication and daily grooming, and it was super clear that my dog was happy and well looked after. Thanks to Jennifer and her family for another great experience!!

Frankie (Shi) always takes such good care of Lucy! He's home with her most of the time and she loves playing with his kids and dog (Jealous). She always comes back happy, CLEARLY LOVED, and clean! I'm never worried about her getting the right food and meds. Despite watching my difficult breed (Belgian Malinois), he knows the right things to do and will put her first turning down sittings if there's even a change of an issue. Plus, I love getting his pictures and daily updates. All in all, I never have to worry about Lucy when I'm away. Highly recommend!!

Bruno loved staying with Tanja! She was very communicative and responsible, and made sure to make him feel at home. We appreciated all the walks he got and the daily pictures. He even got sick while in her care and she gave him a special diet and tended to him, which we so appreciate. We always felt he was in good hands, and he was so happy he almost wouldn’t come home. Will be our first choice for boarding in the future :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
