“Peace could not have had more fun with Michelle and Cinnamon running around in their very spacious back yard. It was a rainy day, but Peace didn't want to come inside. Michelle did a great job communicating to me and made sure Peace was dry when I picked her up. I seriously haven't seen Peace so excited about a daycare visit.”

“Rachel did a great job caring for my puppy for puppy daycare! At the meet and greet, I was impressed with the fact that she structures her doggie daycare to ensure dogs and puppies have positive socialization experiences! It was obvious from the pictures and updates that my puppy was cared for and having a wonderful time while at Rachel’s home! This was the first time I left my puppy with anyone, and I was a bit nervous. However I quickly realized Rachel truly cares about what does, and I couldn’t ask for a better place for my puppy to play! And we most definitely plan to continue to use Rachel’s services!”

“Sadie has separation anxiety and was very apprehensive going into Veronica's home. Veronica took her time introducing Sadie to other small dogs in her care and let us know she was doing well with them. We will definitely use Veronica's services again.”

“Fantastic time for my pup! We learned she loves cats and now has a new best friend! My dog was having fun being chased around the house by a cat. Catherine was super flexible and very attentive to Cami as well as her whole family.”

“Christine took great care of Chili. Sent a ton of photos with updates and persisted in giving him lunch although he's a finicky eater. He clearly got tons of play time and attention and love.”

“Yichen is a great sitter! We had a meet and greet before our first stay so that she could get to know my dog better. I think thanks to that, my dog’s stay went smoothly the next day. I appreciate her flexibility and friendliness, and I can tell my dog enjoys her stays at her place. Yichen has a playful shih tzu named Ube that my dog loves playing with. Overall, Yichen is a 10/10 sitter!”

“Loreen was really patient with Milo, who is a bit skittish around strangers. She took the time to get him acquainted with her house, yards and kids. She and the kids genuinely love Milo and she sent great pictures of his stay at her house. I’ll definitely use her again!”

“Finn had another great day with Guojin and her husband! They sent lots of pictures and took him out on several walks. He loves doing doggy day care with them! We will definitely book again in the future!”

“Carla and her family were really sweet and loving they took great care of my puppy and gave her a lot of love. They even provided a crate for me. I would definitely book them again whenever needed.”

About: I’ve taken care of every type of dog breed since I was a little girl, and I got into the pet professional care business right after college in 2010 and never looked back!!! I absolutely love this job. It fills up my cup and it’s very rewarding, as we help people live a worry-free life while we care for their dear animals. What could feel better than spending time with these sweet pets in nature and caring for them in the same manner as their own pet parents would?! I treat every pet like my own, it is my passion and means that much to me. 🐾🐾🐾♥️♥️ ♥️ I am currently available full-time, so I have plenty of time to visit pets during the week, and board over the weekend, and even do some overnights during the week or weekend as needed!! 🐾♥️ I care for these pets in the same manner that their pet parents would, following all instructions left for me, and making sure that there are no signs of allergies or any safety concerns at all times when with the animal. I also keep all lines of communication open, so that the pet parent is up-to-date with everything throughout my entire time the pet is under my care. ♥️🐾 I have been complimented about my due diligence and giving updates, being prompt, and always honest.
“Karen took great care of my pup! I appreciated the multiple photo updates throughout his stay and Karen’s responsiveness. I picked up a tired and happy pup. Will definitely book with Karen again!”

About: i have taken care of all my neighbors dogs since i was in elementary school, we have a dog of our own who i have been taking care of since getting him, i trained my dog as well as always had a great experience with dogs I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for pets throughout the week. I’m available most weekdays after 12 PM and weekends for boarding, walks, playtime, feeding, and giving pets lots of attention and care. About: Since I was five,I grew up with pets and having the responsibility of taking care of their basic and emotional needs to the best of my ability. I'm currently in college and many of the classes I take are online so most of the time I am at home caring for my cat sage! I’m so glad to be able to spend much of my time at home since I get to spend a lot of time with sage! I have a pet friendly house meaning everything in my apartment is safe and secure for the fur babies to run around and play. I also have many toys and treats to offer to any cats or dogs that I do end up taking care of! Sage is also a very friendly kitty and loves spending time with other cats, so it would be like a big sleepover for sage and whichever fur baby stays over!

About: My name is Abigail, but prefer to go by Abby. I’ve taken care of dogs throughout my entire life and I’m dedicated to making every dog be safe and happy. I’m currently a volunteer at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter where I walk dogs, clean up after them, and supervise the dogs at play. But I’m trying to work up and get hired as a full-fledged dog daycare attendant at an official facility. I currently live with my mom and younger brother, so even if I have to leave to run errands, my family is guaranteed to keep company for all pets unless we all have to leave for work. I’m available through any day of the week or weekend. Becoming a dog sitter is my passion and dream job so I will be on call at any time or day. I currently have no pets and do not have a fenced in yard. If needed, I can crate dogs and keep them on a leash when outdoors.
“My dog went to Amy’s house for doggy daycare and had the best time! Amy was very responsive to my initial request and all of my questions. My dog is often scared of new people, and Amy was very patient and understanding when we arrived. Amy sent me an update and picture of my dog during the day. She took my dog on multiple walks and even a trip to the dog park! When I picked my dog up, my dog insisted on walking back to Amy with a happy, wiggly body and wagging tail to get goodbye pets from her. What a great day! Thanks for taking such good care of my fur baby, Amy! We can’t wait to see you again!”

Jayara was AMAZING! As a new Rover User looking for a last minute urgent sitter for my 2 Poodles, Jayara was available and ready to help. She was very easy going, knowledgeable, and accomodating due to our late arrival to pick up our boys. I HIGHLY recommend Jayara! You won’t regret it.
Winnie is a professional dog sitter who did an amazing job with Lily. She kept us updated regularly on how our dog was doing, including details like walks, bathroom breaks, and overall behavior, which we really appreciated. She followed all the instructions we left and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. It was clear that Lily was well cared for and in great hands. Honestly, she’s the best dog sitter we’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be booking her again in the near future!

Loved that Brianna was able to take my request last minute. She was very flexible and communicative. Kai enjoyed his overnight stay and seemed very comfortable. I received updates and photos throughout his stay, which I really appreciated. When I picked him up, she even gave me a cute vision board she made with photos she took of him. It was so thoughtful and adorable. I will def book her again🐶💛

Valerie was so great with my two dogs. She was very communicative throughout the booking process. I felt very at ease dropping them off as it was my first experience with Rover. Valerie took my dogs for a walk, provided them treats , took great pics and made them feel right at home.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
