About: I’ve had both cats and dogs and have cared for them since I was 10. I love animals and miss being around them since mine are back at home while I’m at college. I am a college student, and have availability certain week days and or nights as well as the weekends in the afternoon and the evenings. Your pets will be supervised at all times during walks and safely taken care of with whatever needs they require. I will walk in safe communities as well.
“Carter was fantastic with my dog Keeva and is very reliable. I cannot recommend him highly enough! I will certainly be reaching out to Carter for any pet-related services I may need. Thanks again!!”

About: I love animals and am a huge dog lover! I have a pit bull myself, she is 3 years old, my best friend, my whole world. I’ve done Rover in the past and it filled my heart with joy to meet so many pets. I have taken care of a lot of my friends dogs, such as husky’s, Pomeranians, Italian greyhounds, and others. I look forward to taking the best care of your own beloved pets. I am very flexible with my schedule. After working as an office manager for a doctor for 14 years, I have decided to take time off and do things I really love and enjoy. I have a pitbull myself, we have a fenced in backyard that she uses for potty breaks and to bathe in the sun when she can. She gets to go to the dog park, weather permitting and gets a few walks per day.
“Sharon and George kindly and perfectly cared for our doggy over the Christmas holiday. Nice walks and playtime included in all visits and impeccable attention to keeping her area fresh and clean. Thank you both! Highly recommended!!”

About: I grew up with dogs my whole life having as many as 5 at a time. I have done many houe sitting and dog watching for all kinds of animals. I now have a dog and a cat myself and love my furbabies! I currently am in a masters program mainly online, so I have a lot of time and would love to get out of the house to help care for your pets! My schedule is flexible but depends on my school schedule each week. I have experience putting animals in crates, certain rooms, or wherever you prefer. I am good at following instructions of how you like your pet cared for to make it as seamless as possible. With my experience of pet sitting I am open to letting them out in their space or longer walks, whatever you prefer.
About: I have taken care of cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I've watched my neighbors, family, and others' pets, making sure they are getting the top-notch care they deserve! Animals have always been a constant in my life, and I can't remember a time I didn't have any pets around. I work to build a connection with every animal I work with so that they feel comfortable until their human returns home. I've cared for pets big and small, and will always make sure owners get the updates they deserve. I am very flexible in my schedule, as I am a current college student. I have plenty of time in my day to make sure your pet is well cared for! In my home, I have a fenced-in yard with a designated dog area. I have plenty of room inside and outside so that your furry friend will feel comfortable. As for my client's home, I will make sure to understand the rules and boundaries for any animals I am caring for.
“Brianne has been wonderful with our dog, Lilly. She’s communicative, kind, and very patient. She also provides thorough reviews and summaries of her visits! We have really appreciated her dedication!”

About: My family and I have owned and continue to own multiple pets. Currently we have 1 cat, who is a handful. Our neighbors also own many pets (mostly dogs) and some neighbors even foster puppies for adoption. This has given me experience ever since I was young on dogs of different sizes and personalities from big to small and aggressive to completely calm. I’m currently looking for small work here and there so pet care like this is a perfect opportunity for me. I am currently preparing for college at Virginia Tech however, so my afternoons are typically reserved for prep. When entering your home to take care of your pet, I will ensure to be 100% respectful to you, your home and your pet. Based on that pet(s) needs I will either be a very active mover or a more sedentary person.
“Laura is very responsible and took great care of our cat while we were away. She was very attentive to Freya’s needs and gave her lots of attention! We got consistent and detailed updates on how she was doing and photos.”

About: Over the years I have taken care of many different kinds of animals including dogs and cats, of which I've owned two of each, guinea pigs, mice, and more! In my veterinary science classes, I learned a lot about the handling of dogs, cats, and small animals and got lots of hands-on experience working with dogs during weekly grooming days. Previously, I have worked in a dog hotel as a kennel assistant where I provided many different services for dogs including feeding, cleaning and walking. Along with this, I also often pet sit for my friends and family :D I'm currently taking a class over the summer, but I still have a good amount of time to go around. I am available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after 4:30pm, Tuesday and Thursday after 12:30pm, and all day on weekends! I have experience working with a variety of tempers in dogs, cats, and other animals. I'm very patient with nervous/shy animals and can match a higher energy as well.

About: Growing up on a farm, I spent my childhood caring for all sorts of animals! I regularly pet-sit for friends and family, so your pet will be in experienced, loving hands! Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. Growing up on a farm meant animals always came first, and that hasn't changed. I'm flexible throughout the week and happy to work around your pet's schedule and needs. I treat every pet like my own. Whether in my home or yours, I make sure the environment is safe, comfortable, and stress-free. With years of experience caring for cats, dogs, horses, and chickens, you can trust your pet is in good hands.
About: We have owned dogs all our lives and we truly think dog sitting should be done not by big boarding facilities but by loving and caring dog parents that have the experience of loving multiple dogs throughout their lives. My wife and I have had pets from 4 years old to now in our early thirties and we just used a home dog sitter for the first time. We were a little hesistant as this was our first time and it worked out perfectly. Seeing this work in action we both said this is the way a dog should be treated if their owners go away for vacation, so we decided to try to do the same things for our neighborhood. We treat all dogs like they are our own and will not disappoint anyone that books with us. Prior to sitting each dog, I send owners a few questions to learn more about their pup (e.g., Does your dog have health issues, behavioral issues, dietary restraints, etc.?). Services may not be rendered if special needs are not disclosed. Thank you.

FIVE STARS!! We have 2 dogs and one is very scared of strangers. Jessica was patient and loving with him and he warmed up to her very quickly (faster than any other stranger/dog sitter), and I think they were besties by the end of our trip! Jessica sent detailed communication after each visit along with super sweet pictures. She made wise decisions related to changing weather and communicated everything with us. Our dogs are high energy and she played with the dogs every visit which was awesome. We will definitely be using her services in the future and would 100% reccomend her. I think the dogs are really going to miss her!

Winnie was AMAZING with our dog and cat. She gave them tons of attention and made sure they were mentally stimulated. She also sent us thorough updates after each drop-in, which relieved a lot of our anxieties. I would definitely rehire her, and I highly recommend her if you want someone who takes care of your pets like they’re her own.

I felt completely comfortable leaving Beethoven in Darcy‘s capable hands. She wrote extensive notes each day, letting me know how he did and she was always early to arrive and did exactly what I asked, and it was just such a relief to know that he was in good hands. I will definitely reach out when I have another need for a walker or a caretaker for my pup!

Beth L. was able to step in quickly when our sitter cancelled and do drop in visits for our dog while we were away for multiple days. She cheerfully got Nelly up and fed in the morning and put her in her crate at night after ensuring she got some outdoor and play time and water. She was communicative and responsive the whole time and Nelly did well. We really appreciated her help!

Caroline listened to all my suggestions with Bella and had an amazing night with our 12 week old pup! We had no accidents in the house while we were gone which is a huge bonus! I highly recommend Caroline for her attention to detail, warmth and obvious love for animals.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Oakton with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
