“My cat is a little finicky with the people he gets along with, but Maria definitely knows how to work with him and he seems happy when she comes by! Couldn’t recommend more.”

“Carole is wonderful. Great updates and feedback on how our fur babies were doing. It was a long time out of town and she took very good care of our cats. We will absolutely book with her again!!”

“We haven’t used a dog walker before, but when we needed one for a short period Fatima was a great one. She was conscientious, prompt and she and my pup hit it off immediately. It’s very comforting to know that our baby was in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

About: I have had dogs my whole life and I enjoy taking them on walks or caring for their other needs. I have owned both big dogs and small dogs as well as senior dogs and puppies! I do not have a traditional work schedule so I am available for most times that you may be at work! I will fit in any pets that need care when I am not at work. I will follow all instructions that you leave for your pet to know how they feel comfortable in your own and around others. I want to treat your pet and your space properly!

About: I’ve taken care of the family dog my entire life and I’ve been a dog owner for 15 years. I’ve trained and raised a St Bernard, a Great Pyrenees, a Westie, and our currently beloved lab-mix, Turnip! My husband, Adam, shares this account and helps us be more flexible with your care needs. He is home from work by 2pm during the week and can pop out to visit/walk your pup during the day or we can both come by in the evenings for a visit/walk! We moved from Rosslyn and I know how hard it can be to find a sitter with a nice fenced yard and a friendly pup for your dog to play with while you’re gone, so we’re looking to supply that now that we’re in Fairfax City! I work M-F out of the home but Adam is home by 2pm on weekdays so he’s available for drop-in visits/walks during the week days if needed. We are both available for drop-in/walks weeknight evenings! We have a fenced yard and an overly friendly lab mix, Turnip, to keep your dog company. I know what it’s like to have a routine for your dog and we’re happy to follow any care instructions you provide!

About: I have been pet and house-sitting for over 10 years. I've worked with dogs of all sizes, from a chihuahua to a Leonberger. As well as a variety of other animals, including cats, chickens, bunnies, and fish. I have experience with all ages, young, middle-aged, and senior animals. I like to think of myself as a green thumb and will happily take care of gardens and houseplants! I'm new to town for graduate school and looking for a part-time job that fits my school schedule (Online classes in the evening two days a week). I am available for plenty of time with pets and watching over a home. I am available for day visits to play, walk, or get belly rubs. I am also available for overnight stays for pets who need extra care and attention!

About: I own and trained a 6 year old German Shepherd and 13 year old mutt from the time they were puppies so I have experience with small to large breed dogs. I have dog sat others dogs and have experience walking multiple dogs at one time. I am a teacher currently on summer break and looking to keep busy, so time is open except for Friday evenings/nights and Saturday mornings. I have multiple years of experience giving medication, feeding, and caring for dogs. When I am with a dog they will always be under direct supervision and control.
“Becky is great to work with and does a great job with coordination, planning and of course care of the pets. I hope to call on Becky again for our next trip away. I would highly recommend trusting her with your pets and home. Thanks again Becky.”

About: Over the years I have taken care of many different kinds of animals including dogs and cats (of which I've owned two of each), guinea pigs, mice, and more! In my veterinary science classes, I learned a lot about the handling of dogs, cats, and small animals and got lots of hands-on experience working with dogs during weekly grooming days. Previously, I have worked in a dog hotel as a kennel assistant where I provided many different services for dogs including feeding, cleaning and walking. Along with this, I also often pet sit for my friends and family :D I have plenty of time to look after pets this summer. If anything pops up that will be communicated through messages or on my calendar 👍 I have experience working with a variety of tempers in dogs, cats, and other animals. I'm very patient with nervous/shy animals and can match a higher energy as well.
“Our dog, Cookie, loved Mallory! She was always on time and spent quality time with Cookie. She sent great pictures of the adventures they had together. Will certainly book Mallory any time we need someone to watch Cookie for us. Thank you Mallory!”

“Alexis is my go to cat sitter for my little guy Diego! He loves her and is always happy and content when I get home. I know he's in good hands with Alexis 🐈💕”

“Sharon and George kindly and perfectly cared for our doggy over the Christmas holiday. Nice walks and playtime included in all visits and impeccable attention to keeping her area fresh and clean. Thank you both! Highly recommended!!”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats and love all animals. I’m taking a professional break and would love to take care of your pets. I’m currently taking a professional break from my career and will be available for walks and visits most weekdays when I’m not traveling or taking care of my own dog. I have a fenced in backyard where my own 80-lb doodle loves to play. I have one indoor cat who roams our home freely. I can welcome dogs into our home for daycare who are comfortable with a playmate.
About: I have taken care of cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I've watched my neighbors, family, and others' pets, making sure they are getting the top-notch care they deserve! Animals have always been a constant in my life, and I can't remember a time I didn't have any pets around. I work to build a connection with every animal I work with so that they feel comfortable until their human returns home. I've cared for pets big and small, and will always make sure owners get the updates they deserve. I am very flexible in my schedule, as I am a current college student. I have plenty of time in my day to make sure your pet is well cared for! In my home, I have a fenced-in yard with a designated dog area. I have plenty of room inside and outside so that your furry friend will feel comfortable. As for my client's home, I will make sure to understand the rules and boundaries for any animals I am caring for.
“Ethan responded to request quickly and arrived for booking on time. The dogs both liked him. He did a great job with them walking and playing with our rambunctious puppy. We will definitely contact him again when we need a dog sitter.”

I would highly recommend Michelle for any pet sitting needs! She is so sweet and communicative throughout her visits! I received lots of pictures and updates, and I can clearly tell my pup is very happy with her :) I will definitely be rebooking with her in the future!

Winnie was AMAZING with our dog and cat. She gave them tons of attention and made sure they were mentally stimulated. She also sent us thorough updates after each drop-in, which relieved a lot of our anxieties. I would definitely rehire her, and I highly recommend her if you want someone who takes care of your pets like they’re her own.

I felt completely comfortable leaving Beethoven in Darcy‘s capable hands. She wrote extensive notes each day, letting me know how he did and she was always early to arrive and did exactly what I asked, and it was just such a relief to know that he was in good hands. I will definitely reach out when I have another need for a walker or a caretaker for my pup!

Beth L. was able to step in quickly when our sitter cancelled and do drop in visits for our dog while we were away for multiple days. She cheerfully got Nelly up and fed in the morning and put her in her crate at night after ensuring she got some outdoor and play time and water. She was communicative and responsive the whole time and Nelly did well. We really appreciated her help!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Oakton with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
