About: Hi there! I’m a recent graduate from the University of Virginia (3.94 GPA, Public Service Scholar, Double-Major) and have been caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities since I was young. Neighbors, friends, and local families have relied on me for feeding, playtime, and drop-in visits (both cats and dogs), and I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for in their own home and on walks. I truly love spending time with dogs—they’re honestly one of my favorite parts of life. I bring a fun, positive energy to each visit, while also staying calm, patient, and attentive to each dog’s individual needs. I treat every pet like my best friend and always approach care with compassion and consistency. Please note: I use only positive reinforcement when caring for animals, and I’m happy to reinforce basic training during walks or visits if requested. I also genuinely enjoy giving baths, so I’d be happy to help keep your dog clean and fresh as an add-on service. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and follow instructions closely. I always send updates and photos so you can feel confident and at ease while you’re away. I’m currently in my gap year, saving for graduate school, and would love to spend that time caring for pets in the Reston area! As a post-UVA Grad, I have an extremely flexible schedule following mid-May. I provide care exclusively in/around your home, including requested walks, baths, playtime, and other specified general care. I pride myself on strong communication and provide regular updates and photos so you always feel informed and at ease. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding routines, walk schedules, medications (if needed), and any household guidelines. I’m careful with doors, gates, leashes, and home security, and I always double-check that everything is secure before leaving. I focus on keeping your pet in their familiar environment, or, where requested, so they feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and comfort level, whether they need playtime and energy or a calm, quiet presence. I use only positive reinforcement and never punishment. I also send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing and can feel confident they’re in good hands upon each drop-in or walk.
“Asal was great! Very communicative and diligent with updates regarding my pet throughout my trip. Even through last minute changes, Asal was very flexible and able to accommodate as needed and made me feel secure that my pet was in good hands!”

“Absolutely fantastic! Always takes great care of my kitty boy and goes above and beyond providing enrichment to him as well! 10/10 will always try to book with Carole!!”

About: Hello! It’s nice to meet you! :) My name is Amelia and I am a dog enthusiast. I am currently offering services for dog walking and dog sitting. I also have experience owning cats and am happy to cat sit, feed, play, and clean the litter box for your feline family. I am very active and have been a dog mom of a wonderful Pitbull for nearly 14 years. I’d be happy to help check in on your dog, do a walk or pet sit as well. I have a very flexible work schedule, and am generally available to move things around as needed to make accommodations on short notice. I am up early each day. I come from a big dog loving family where we all have dogs and love getting them together for our family events and Sunday dinners. To me, my dog is my life, my family. I promise to treat your fur baby with the same respect, dedication, protection, and love. I hope to meet them soon!

“Keila did such a wonderful job with our 95 lb jumpy/excited boxer the first time she watched him, we immediately booked her again for our next longer trip (10 days!) and am so glad we did. We felt really comfortable with her already, but every visit she did she sent photos and typically added funny notes and that made it even better. She spent a lot of time with him for drop ins and clearly gave him plenty of exercise. We will reach out to Keila and pray she’s available for all our future needs! Highly recommend.”

“Asher provided consistent updates and reached out with questions to ensure my cat was well taken care of. It was very comforting while I was traveling internationally for 10 days. I would absolutely love to book again with Asher in the future.”

“Anna was awesome! She took great care of my three cats, sent awesome pics everyday. It was clear they liked her since all 3 came out and posed for pictures. They rarely do that for some people.”

“Jessica did a great job taking care of our lab. She was always quick to respond with questions and was very prompt in showing up. We would certainly ask her first before trying to find another sitter.”

“Jake took great care of our two dogs and cat while we were away. He sent nice updates and observations so we knew just what was going on at home. And he tailored his dog walking to match our dogs’ style. Great to work with.”

“LaurieBeth did an amazing job with my two 20-pound dogs. Her care was only exceeded by her communication through Rover. I was incredibly lucky to find a caregiver like LaurieBeth on short notice. I was able to relax and enjoy a last-minute trip. I did not worry about my pups once. They were in great hands. I would hire LaurieBeth and plan to!”

“Leah took great care of my cat during a couple of weekend drop-in visits, including meeting him where he’s at when it comes to warming up to new people. She was also very responsive and kept me updated so that I wasn’t worried while I was out of town.”

“Nikky always takes amazing care of my Toby and I feel relieved every time I leave him in her care. She is really sweet with him and he started loving on her right away. I definitely recommend Nikky. She is a true animal lover .”

About: Hello! My name is Savannah and I'm an animal lover of all personalities and sizes. I grew up with cats and currently have a senior fur baby, Pickles, who won't leave my side. I also volunteer by fostering kittens through Wolf Trap Animal Rescue. While in college I lived with multiple dogs throughout the years and helped with their daily care and dog walking. I also volunteered at the SPCA and took dogs out for the day to better acclimate them to people and new environments in order to help them get adopted. Whether your pet needs long walks, playtime, cuddles, or just simply a companion while you're gone, I'm happy to help! I'm responsible, communicative, and have a flexible work schedule. I'd love the opportunity to meet your pet and provide them with safe and loving care. I currently work full time with a flexible schedule, working partly in the office and partly remote. I have been around cats and dogs my whole life and know what it takes to gain their trust and take care of them like they are my own! I am comfortable in new environments with new pets and have been a neighborhood pet sitter for over 10 years.

“Edward was truly amazing with our 2 cats! He came every day, sat outside with them, gave them treats, loads of pets and sent pictures each day which was SO nice!! Very grateful that we found him through Rover.”

“Teju communicates extremely well and showed true care towards my cat. They went above and beyond while I was away and I would absolutely love to rebook them in the future.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Hill
Jenn is great!! we have three big dogs and all of them love her. One of my dogs can be a little finicky as a protective dominant dog (y’all know what I mean), and he loves her. She fed them and let them out a couples times. I came home and they were happy babes. Thank you Jenn!

Katherine is a compassionate and conscientious sitter. My two dogs love seeing her and trust her. She makes an extra effort to follow instructions and to inquire with us if there are any concerns about the dogs. We have older dogs, and I had left a note about certain issues she might observe with one of the dogs. During visits, she attended to my dog with great care and monitored him closely to make sure he was fine before leaving from visits. She provides exceptional care, and we highly recommend her.

Even though she came in for a simple drop in visit as I was out of the house the whole day, she still did a phenomenal job with feeding the animals, administering my cats specific medication, and walking my dog around the neighborhood! I also have a pet toad in which she helped feed him as well:) All in all, i recommend booking her for your pets!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
