“Rosemary took great care of my dog Beau. While I was away she provided me updates and pictures which made me feel at ease while I was away. When I came home the house was clean and tidy. I appreciate the love and care that Rosemary gave my boy.”
“Colleen did a great job keeping my timid dog going strong while we were away. And my cat just loved her too! Leaving one's furbabies is very stressful but now I feel comfortable to travel again if Colleen is available for my babies. Thank you so much!!!”

“Perry is the best! She sends videos and pictures so you can love on your baby from afar! Our dog had the best time with her and we know she was well taken care of and loved! We will definitely be using her again!”

“Kenia was absolutely wonderful, and I would book with her again without hesitation. This was my first time having someone stay overnight in my home, so I was naturally a little nervous, but she immediately put me at ease with her communication and professionalism. She respected my home and my space exactly as we discussed, followed every instruction carefully, and even took initiative when appropriate without needing to be asked. She kept me updated throughout the stay with messages, photos, and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Most importantly, Luna was well cared for, happy, and comfortable when I returned. It was clear that Kenia genuinely cared about making sure both my dog and my home were well taken care of. I truly appreciated her thoughtfulness, reliability, and attention to detail. I highly recommend Kenia to anyone looking for a trustworthy, respectful, and caring pet sitter!”

“We trust Lorene with our senior dog and with our home while we are away on vacation. She has an excellent communication style, pays attention to all of the details of managing our dog and our home, and navigates all of it in a professional manner. No hesitation to rebook with Lorene!”

“Claire was absolutely fantastic with our 2 anxious rescue pups! She sent plenty of great updates and pictures, which put my mind at ease from the beginning. Can't wait to work with Claire again!”

“So grateful to finally have a reliable sitter who genuinely loves our animals. Jess always goes above and beyond to ensure our four-legged kids are taken care of. So happy we found her 🥰”
“Kayleigh did a great job taking care of my doggos Chubbs + Reade! We got multiple text and photo updates throughout her time with them and had no worries while she was with them.”
“We love her so much and only use her to watch both our pups. She is so sweet and considerate. Our pups have separation issues and we never have to worry going on week long trips when she’s watching them. Life saver. (And I love that she cleans up before she leaves - such a nice touch)”

“All of the pets seemed relaxed when we got home and like they enjoyed Faith's company while we were away. She was responsive to our requests and gave us the updates we needed to sooth our own anxieties as well. She also left the house spotless!”

“Kristen was an amazing dog sitter. She took great care of the dogs and updated me regularly on how they were doing. She so took great care of my home. She is great with the dogs and looks out for their every need”

“Steph is wonderful. She is considered and extremely polite. She took great care of our two boys and sent us daily updates and pictures. The boys looked happy and relaxed enjoying their time with Steph. She also took care of my hydrangeas that did not like the heat. We will definitely be using her when we are out of town again. Thank you Steph and Rover”

“Habiba was a last minute find as my plans changed rapidly and needed someone to house sit my dog Gus. She was super communicative and flexible. After meeting her first I knew she'd take excellent care of my baby. She kept me updated constantly and handled any issues that arose (my dog is older so he has issues now and then). She sent me plenty of pics as I requested and I would absolutely leave my dog in her care again. 10/10”
“This was my first time booking with Melinda and she exceeded all our needs, especially when my dog had a bad day health wise. I took the longest vacation in my adult life and overseas as well, she gave me peace of mind I needed to enjoy my trip. 1000% would rebook and recommend her wholeheartedly.”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was baby. I was made the primary caregiver of the family dogs from a young age. I have also been a care taker of cats for my entire life as well. On top of all that I am a freshly graduated wildlife biologist with a minor in animal behavior, with lots of wildlife care taking experience. I am in between internships right now so I way too much time on my hands! I can check in on your pets any time any day. :) In my care I can promise the utmost respect for your fur babies. I will make sure they are played with, their boundaries are respected, and they are well cared for. Our pets are our families, so I can promise you they will be treated as such. I can provide enrichment, exercise, or just a relaxing day if that’s what they need. As a wildlife biologist I am skilled in anticipating exactly what your pet needs.
“So happy with Kamila’s care of Gemma. This was our first time with her. She took the time to get to know Gemma and understand that she does have separation anxiety. Sent me pictures and videos that allowed me to see how Gemma was behaving. Gemma obviously loved her from the start and was sad to see her go. Will definitely book again!”

About: I’ve taken care of my own animals at home. Which has been a cat, rabbit, and now just my small dog. I’ve cared for others animals during that time as well. I’m currently in college so I’m able to check in whenever as I have the time to. I study daily and put hours aside for other activities, currently all free time since I do not have any extracurriculars. In your home I’ll respect your space and their space. I am just the guest in their home as well, I’ll make sure they’re as comfortable as possible. Being able to follow their routines as closely as possible.
“We needed a sitter on really short notice and Christyn was available. She sent pics of our dogs showing how they were, our hound took to her immediately. Thank you for taking care of our pups! Definitely recommended!”

I can't say enough good things about Amelia! She was so sweet, kind, and attentive to Samson. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him and made sure he was comfortable, happy, and well cared for during their time together. Knowing Samson was in such caring hands gave me great peace of mind. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pet like family!

Christina was referred by a neighbor and we could not be any happier with her service. She sent us daily pictures of our baby, and in all the pictures we can tell how happy he was. He was comfortable with Christina as he has certain poses that he does when he is happy and they were all displayed in each picture. After our return he continues to look for her. Thank you Christina, we are so grateful 🙏 to have met and hired you. ❤️

Julia was great! She watched my 2 dogs in my home for a few nights and was responsive, gave frequent updates and respectful of the home. She really saved the day when I couldn’t find another dog sitter in the middle of the Summer. I would use her again and recommend to others!

Antonia was excellent! She replied within a few minutes of my sending her a booking request and it was very easy to schedule a meet and greet with her. My dog loved her from the minute he saw here. She sent us pics while we were away, and she even came early before we left to make sure Isvar would be fine with her. I’m definitely purely going to ask Antonia to watch Oscar when we go away next.! Oh, and she left our house epic and span. You couldn’t even tell she’d been here.
Abbey did a great job house sitting for us. My dog is epileptic, so leaving her can be a bit stressful, but she took fantastic care of her and managed her medication perfectly. She sent regular pictures and updates and also left my home exactly as she found it. Stax was happy, relaxed, and clearly well-loved while we were gone. I'm happy to recommend Abbey to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive siitter, and I wont hesitate to book with her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oak Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oak Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oak Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oak Hill. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
