“Rosemary did a great job house sitting for us for 9 days and taking care of our 2 small dogs. She is very responsive with communication, regularly sent photos, and kept us informed. Upon our return, the dogs were healthy & happy, and the house was neat and clean (with one exception - which was remedied easily enough). We appreciate her help and will call upon her again! Thanks Rosemary!”

“Vinnie did a great job! He took care of my senior pup over the weekend while we were out of town. He dropped in 3 times a day, fed, and gave my boy his supplements/medication. Vinnie even hung around and kept my boy company after he ate, waiting for him to digest his food and then took him out again. A + service!”

“Allegra constantly exceeds expectations and alleviates any anxieties I have about leaving my dogs for several days at a time. She is responsive and great with the dogs and house. I'll never book another dog sitter if Allegra is available!”

“McKenna did an amazing job. She was professional, had great communication, and went above and beyond to make sure my pup had everything he needed. I could tell from the photos she sent that my dog was having a great time while I was away. A++”

“We needed a sitter on really short notice and Christyn was available. She sent pics of our dogs showing how they were, our hound took to her immediately. Thank you for taking care of our pups! Definitely recommended!”

“Anne was great! She stayed two nights with our Lab, and she was very communicative and just generally on top of things. She was very careful with him with the extreme heat and gave him frequent but short breaks outside. She asked good questions and was very attentive to his needs and his routines. She also went above and beyond and voluntarily returned to walk him one more time before she left town. We would absolutely recommend Anne, and will absolutely try to book her again in the future.”

“Nadia was super nice and mindful with max’s needs. She and her entire family took care of max during Christmas and made him feel welcome (he has separation anxiety). She sent me constant updates with pictures and videos and even asked for detailed instructions before dropping max. I will definitely book Nadia for max in the future. She’s the best dog sitter.”

“Katherine did a great job communicating with me and taking care of my dog, Luray! It was the first time I have used Rover for an overnight stay and it was a great experience because of Katherine!”

About: Hi everyone! My name is Courtney, and I’ve lived in Northern Virginia for many years. I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life and have always had a passion for caring for animals. My experience includes caring for family pets, pet sitting throughout middle and high school, volunteering with animal rescue organizations, fostering dogs and puppies, working as a doggy daycare attendant, and working as a dog bather at a pet resort. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and personalities, so I’m comfortable adapting to each pet’s unique needs. I was also a Rover sitter a few years ago before my account became inactive, so I’m excited to be back! I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I treat every pet like my own. My goal is to provide dependable, loving care while keeping your pet happy, comfortable, and safe in their own home. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! A quick note: I have a wonderful 4-year-old son who may accompany me during house-sitting stays. He has been around dogs his entire life and is very gentle, respectful, and understands how to interact with animals appropriately. About: I’m a pre-vet student who just graduated from UVA and has grown up with two large dogs! I’ve also recently owned a hamster from a college lab! I have a lot of experience dog and cat sitting for friends and family including puppies, kittens, and senior dogs and cats. I also have about 100 hours of dog walking experience from a shelter so I am comfortable with reactive/fearful/energetic dogs, and another 100 from shadowing at a vet practice. I am currently looking for a vet assistant job so my schedule is open 7 days a week! I am used to all day pet sitting. I always make sure that I understand the instructions that I’m given and maintain clear communication with the owner if I have any questions. I never make any assumptions and always make sure that the owner is comfortable with any decisions that need to be made.
“Kaitlin did a phenomenal job for us during a last minute overnight house sitting with our dog and cat! She was very professional and did everything the right way. She also was sure to send lots of pictures and updates. We appreciated the effort Kaitlin put into this and we felt very comfortable with her sitting in our home. We would definitely recommend her and will be booking with her again in the future.”

“I am so appreciative of having Lorene as my dog sitter for our recent vacation. She kept us updated with a daily report, added some cute pictures, and learned more of the dogs’ quirks making it a great fit. We knew we could travel without any worries because she took great care of my boys. They loved hanging out with her and Cash even took on the role of “work supervisor”. Would highly recommend Lorene for any of your dog needs.”

“Elizabeth was absolutely fantastic. She communicated regularly and sent pictures often. She also went above and beyond cleaning up which was a nice surprise after a week of business travel. I would highly recommend her and will be reaching out again.”

Jennifer was wonderful staying with our dog and cat! They both love her and she is incredibly responsive and responsible, providing us much appreciated updates and photos and leaving the house in great shape! We’re so grateful we found her as we trust her with our pets entirely and will absolutely be asking her to watch them again - they both love her!

Maya cared for our two dogs while we were traveling overseas. During this time, she slept at our house, provided meals, morning and afternoon walks, and lots of snuggles. She communicated frequently with us, providing updates on both the dogs and the house. She took in the mail and trash, and watered our plants. We were very comfortable and grateful for her help, which allowed for a relaxing vacation. We recommend her unconditionally, and hope to have her back again for future pet care requirements.

Our two dogs are very "hands on", or might even say spoiled. We had Kendall stay over for several hours and some walks. We reviewed beforehand our process and she was very attentive and asked lots of questions to make sure she understood the schedule and our dogs' habits. Very happy with Kendall's service.

Ja was incredible - truly the best pet sitter we’ve ever had! She was so responsive and responsible, gave so much love and attention to our cat and dog, left the house in beautiful condition, and asked excellent questions to make sure she could care for them as best as possible. We truly couldn’t have asked for anyone better - we will absolutely be asking her to sit again and again! She made herself available for us on short notice and our cat and dog immediately fell in love with her and had a blast! Thank you so much, Ja!

Ashley was wonderful! She arrived early for our meet and greet, came prepared, and asked all the right questions. Throughout the entire process, she was prompt, responsive, and very easy to communicate with. She followed all of the care instructions exactly as outlined and took great care with every detail. Her professionalism, reliability, and warm demeanor made me feel completely comfortable leaving my dogs in her care, especially since this was her first time watching them. It was clear she took the responsibility seriously and wanted to do everything right. I had a great experience working with Ashley and would definitely book with her again!!

Grace was fantastic! She house sat our dog who can be a bit anxious but she immediately warmed up to Grace. Grace was on time, quick to reply, sent cute pics, and left our house in great condition. We would recommend her to anyone and hope she can watch our dog again in the future!

Rachel has done housesitting for me several times and is the most responsive and professional sitter I’ve ever had! She communicates quickly, concisely and professionally with a lot of pictures and updates. I have two large dogs, one of whom is very old and the other who is very energetic and she works with them both, at their levels, and they are both very happy and taken care of when I get home. I would highly recommend Rachel for anyone who may need housesitting or dog walking services! 5/5 in all areas!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Crowells Corner on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 10,291 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Crowells Corner. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Crowells Corner walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Crowells Corner maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crowells Corner choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
