“Han is great with our dog and was amazing as an in home sitter. She communicated throughout our trip and took great care of the house. This really allows us to relax when we need to go away.”

“There’s nothing better than coming home to your dog after a long trip especially when he’s calm and relaxed because he was well taken care of. Juan allowed me this joy. It was the first time I’ve used him and Romeo took to him right away. Juan updated me daily and was responsive to messages. He also left my house in great condition. Thank you for taking care of my baby. We’ll be seeing you again!!”

“Kayly is AMAZING!!! She house sat for us and always communicated through texts and pics to let us know how our doggo was doing. She took Rizzo for walks around the neighborhood, played fetch with her, snuggled; all the things our dog loves :) She went above and beyond and we will absolutely be reaching out to Kayly again when we are away.”

“Anne is by far the best house/dog sitter we have used on Rover in the past 5+ years. She was super communicative each day which gave me incredible comfort that my dog and house was cared for, so I could actually enjoy my vacation. 10/10”

“Elizabeth was absolutely fantastic. She communicated regularly and sent pictures often. She also went above and beyond cleaning up which was a nice surprise after a week of business travel. I would highly recommend her and will be reaching out again.”

“Korrey watched our animals for two whole weeks, so we could go on a much-needed long vacation. He did a great job of caring for the animals & even wrangled all 3 of them to the vet for a routine visit. He loved them like they were his own. It was a relief to know they were given such good care & love. He was conscientious, communicative, & kept us up-to-date. We were fortunate to have his big open-hearted help.”

“We were grateful for Sophia to care for our home and pets. She did a great job and was very professional, and cared for everything well. We would recommend her and would work with her again.”

“Morgan was exactly the sitter our pups needed! We were able to go on our trip without any worries at all. Her updates were regular and showed what a great time they were having. One of our dogs is quite particular when it comes to sitters and they were fast friends. House was left spotless and all mail and packages were brought in. Could not recommend Morgan more!”

About: I’m a pre-vet student who just graduated from UVA and has grown up with two large dogs! I’ve also recently owned a hamster from a college lab! I have a lot of experience dog and cat sitting for friends and family including puppies, kittens, and senior dogs and cats. I also have about 100 hours of dog walking experience from a shelter so I am comfortable with reactive/fearful/energetic dogs, and another 100 from shadowing at a vet practice. I am currently looking for a vet assistant job so my schedule is open 7 days a week! I am used to all day pet sitting. I always make sure that I understand the instructions that I’m given and maintain clear communication with the owner if I have any questions. I never make any assumptions and always make sure that the owner is comfortable with any decisions that need to be made.
“Nadia was super nice and mindful with max’s needs. She and her entire family took care of max during Christmas and made him feel welcome (he has separation anxiety). She sent me constant updates with pictures and videos and even asked for detailed instructions before dropping max. I will definitely book Nadia for max in the future. She’s the best dog sitter.”

About: As a pet sitter, I bring a caring and attentive approach, ensuring each pet feels safe and loved while their owners are away. With experience raising and caring for animals, including my own kitten, I understand the importance of creating a comfortable and stress-free environment. I'm committed to providing regular updates and tailored care, so pet owners can have peace of mind knowing their pets are in good hands. I work from home full time. I am a routined person who would love to accommodate your family’s needs. Whether is caring for them or playing with them I’m excited to be there. I have been the go to sitter for friends and family as well as taken care of my own. Each with their own personalities and needs. I want to ensure a safe and playful environment for your family. Enough water, food, play, cuddle, and space for the furry friends.

“Michelle was very gracious and kind to come last minute when my mom had an unexpected hospital stay. She was flexible and understanding when my mom had a crisis and my husband was delayed getting back home. Her kindness and affection with our boy Sherlock was wonderful!”

“Seth did an amazing job caring for our high energy bulldog. Seth was super punctual, communicative, and sent us regular updates on our boy so we could enjoy a stress free vacation. Our house was spotless upon return as well. Will book with Seth again!”

“Rosemary spent 6 days taking care of the house and animals. She was very responsive, sent oodles of photos, and was very professional in all our communications. We will definitely ask her to come again. It's such a relief to know you can trust somebody to come to the house rather than stressing the dogs out with time in a loud pet hotel.”

About: I have taken care of my girlfriends dog, Coco, for a week, cooking for, feeding, walking and bathing her. I promise to make your pet my entire world and top priority while they are under my care and protection. I work full time and go into office, but work remotely Mondays and Fridays. From Friday to Monday, your pet will be under 24 hour care. I am also willing to board pets that require less maintenance during Tues - Thurs under the expectation that I may not be at home for up to 12 hours during those days. I love cooking for your pets and being active with them! After making sure your pets are eating nutritous meals that you wouldn't mind eating yourself, I will take them on several walks, runs or playtime at the park throughout the day. Thats me on the right in my profile picture! To be clear, I will be the only one taking care of your pet.

YASMEEN IS AWESOME!! Yasmeen cared for my two cats and my home for two and a half weeks while I was out of the country. I cannot say enough good things about her. At our meet and greet, she was warm and friendly and asked excellent questions. Any anxiety I had about being gone for so long disappeared after meeting Yasmeen. While I was gone, Yasmeen was proactive in sending updates, pictures and video of the cats. One had just started needing medicine with her meals, and Yasmeen handled that with ease. I could tell from the video updates that my cats felt comfortable with her - and in fact one of them shared lots of cuddles and play time. When I returned, my house was just as I left it, and the cats were happy and healthy. I'm sure they miss her! I am so grateful to Yasmeen and will definitely work with her again!

Anne was great! She stayed two nights with our Lab, and she was very communicative and just generally on top of things. She was very careful with him with the extreme heat and gave him frequent but short breaks outside. She asked good questions and was very attentive to his needs and his routines. She also went above and beyond and voluntarily returned to walk him one more time before she left town. We would absolutely recommend Anne, and will absolutely try to book her again in the future.

Ellie was fantastic - very communicative, reliable, and attentive throughout the stay. She took excellent care of my dog, who has been dealing with some health issues, and gave me real peace of mind while I was away. I would absolutely recommend Ellie to anyone looking for a dependable pet or house sitter.

Clare did a fantastic job house sitting and watching our dog for 12 days. She kept us well informed and shared lots of pictures so we could see how he was doing every day. When the power went out for an extended period, she was on top of things and even offered to take our dog to her home until power returned. I would definately use her services again and highly recommend her as a provider.

Alice was absolutely fantastic, and we would not hesitate to use her again in the future. We were a bit nervous using a new sitter for the first time while leaving on an international trip, especially because one of our dogs is very high energy. Alice exceeded our expectations in every way and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. During our trip, one of our dogs developed an upset stomach, and Alice was exceptional at communicating with us throughout the entire situation. She kept us updated regularly, handled everything calmly and thoughtfully, and made sure our dog was well cared for. When we returned home, both dogs were happy and well cared for, and our house was honestly in even better condition than when we left it. It was clear that Alice treated both our pets and our home with incredible care and respect. We would absolutely recommend Alice to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and caring house and pet sitter.

Nadia is the best - she’s so good with our cat and dog, they absolutely love her and are more affectionate with her than most people we know! We also love that she takes great pictures and sends us updates, she’s a wonderful communicator and such a respectful house guest - we always come home to our place looking better than when we left! If you’re looking for a kind, caring, responsible pet sitter who is GREAT, with animals, book Nadia - we have multiple times and will continue to do so!

As usual, Madi was the absolute most caring, trustworthy, communicative, timely dog sitter. We had an all evening engagement, and it feels so nice leaving our pup with someone we so totally trust for such a long time. She sent great pictures, made sure he got plenty of exercise, and gave him lots of attention. Strudel is always excited to see Madi and we understand why. We have now booked Madi several times, and will continue to do so. So if you need a repeatable, dependable dog sitter , you should look no further!

Virginia was absolutely excellent with caring for my pups from start to finish. From the very beginning, her communication was outstanding. She kept me updated consistently without me ever having to ask for photos or videos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She was very attentive, professional, respectful, and clearly cared about my dogs’ comfort and well-being. I could tell my pups were happy, relaxed, and well cared for under her supervision. When I returned home, everything was left exactly as it was, which I truly appreciated. It’s refreshing to work with someone who is not only dependable and trustworthy, but also respectful of your home and space. Overall, this was a smooth and stress-free experience, and I have absolutely no complaints. Virginia made the entire process easy and reassuring. I would definitely use her services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable, caring, and professional pet care.

Jessica was terrific about helping us out at the last minute with house sitting while my 99 year old mother was in the hospital, and her discharge was quite delayed. Jessica stayed with our English Setter to make sure he could snuggle with her and be taken out for walks in our fenced backyard. She sent photos and even offered to help us get my mom safely back into our home.

Alison is terrific! She’s very sweet, reliable, a great communicator, and she took excellent care of Scotty while we were away for a week on our cruise. We would highly recommend her to other dog families and are very much looking forward to her helping us again with Scotty! I had 100% piece of mind knowing Scotty was in her care.

We cannot speak highly enough of Winnie and her care for our pup and home while house sitting. Being away from our pup is incredibly stressful for our family but Winnie's care, experience and communication gave us so much relief that our pup was in amazing hands. We are incredibly lucky to have found Winnie and a million times, yes, to the question of whether we will be booking with Winnie again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Tysons Corner on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 10,245 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tysons Corner. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tysons Corner walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tysons Corner maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tysons Corner choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
