Hi there! I’m a recent graduate from the University of Virginia (3.94 GPA, Public Service Scholar, Double-Major) and have been caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities since I was young. Neighbors, friends, and local families have relied on me for feeding, playtime, and drop-in visits (both cats and dogs), and I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for in their own home and on walks. I truly love spending time with dogs—they’re honestly one of my favorite parts of life. I bring a fun, positive energy to each visit, while also staying calm, patient, and attentive to each dog’s individual needs. I treat every pet like my best friend and always approach care with compassion and consistency. Please note: I use only positive reinforcement when caring for animals, and I’m happy to reinforce basic training during walks or visits if requested. I also genuinely enjoy giving baths, so I’d be happy to help keep your dog clean and fresh as an add-on service. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and follow instructions closely. I always send updates and photos so you can feel confident and at ease while you’re away. I’m currently in my gap year, saving for graduate school, and would love to spend that time caring for pets in the Reston area!

I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding routines, walk schedules, medications (if needed), and any household guidelines. I’m careful with doors, gates, leashes, and home security, and I always double-check that everything is secure before leaving. I focus on keeping your pet in their familiar environment, or, where requested, so they feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and comfort level, whether they need playtime and energy or a calm, quiet presence. I use only positive reinforcement and never punishment. I also send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing and can feel confident they’re in good hands upon each drop-in or walk.
Ratings and reviews
Maya cared for our two dogs while we were traveling overseas. During this time, she slept at our house, provided meals, morning and afternoon walks, and lots of snuggles. She communicated frequently with us, providing updates on both the dogs and the house. She took in the mail and trash, and watered our plants. We were very comfortable and grateful for her help, which allowed for a relaxing vacation. We recommend her unconditionally, and hope to have her back again for future pet care requirements.
Maya was amazing! There was some confusion on my end with the address at first, and then my apartment gave her a hard time with access, but she was so patient and understanding the whole time. Even with the delay, she didn’t start the walk until Jinn was actually leashed and ready to go, which I really appreciated. She followed all my instructions, kept me updated, and Jinn came back happy and exhausted. Total win, I’d definitely book with her again!
We are so lucky we found Maya to watch after our dog Lola while we were out of town. Maya was an excellent communicator, we received numerous updates including photos while she stayed with Lola in our apartment- taking care of her, playing, walking, and cuddling. Lola had several medications she needed administered each day and Maya did so without any issues. We had been nervous to leave Lola anywhere but the kennel where she was trained when we went out of town before, but Maya put us at ease the moment we met her and we knew that Lola would be well taken care of and safe. Before we left she asked questions, took good notes, and made sure she understood Lola’s routine so that she would be comfortable while we were gone. Maya also took good care of our home while we were out of town, and left it very tidy. We absolutely will be booking Maya again soon!
Maya has been great with my coonhound Stella. She & Maya seemed to bond instantly as Maya has a way with dogs. I'm looking forward to booking her more for the summer, she really cares about your dog. She's an excellent walker!

Schedule
As a post-UVA Grad, I have an extremely flexible schedule following mid-May. I provide care exclusively in/around your home, including requested walks, baths, playtime, and other specified general care. I pride myself on strong communication and provide regular updates and photos so you always feel informed and at ease.
