Hi there! I’m a recent graduate from the University of Virginia (3.94 GPA, Public Service Scholar, Double-Major) and have been caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities since I was young. Neighbors, friends, and local families have relied on me for feeding, playtime, and drop-in visits (both cats and dogs), and I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for in their own home and on walks. I truly love spending time with dogs—they’re honestly one of my favorite parts of life. I bring a fun, positive energy to each visit, while also staying calm, patient, and attentive to each dog’s individual needs. I treat every pet like my best friend and always approach care with compassion and consistency. Please note: I use only positive reinforcement when caring for animals, and I’m happy to reinforce basic training during walks or visits if requested. I also genuinely enjoy giving baths, so I’d be happy to help keep your dog clean and fresh as an add-on service. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and follow instructions closely. I always send updates and photos so you can feel confident and at ease while you’re away. I’m currently in my gap year, saving for graduate school, and would love to spend that time caring for pets in the Reston area!

I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding routines, walk schedules, medications (if needed), and any household guidelines. I’m careful with doors, gates, leashes, and home security, and I always double-check that everything is secure before leaving. I focus on keeping your pet in their familiar environment, or, where requested, so they feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and comfort level, whether they need playtime and energy or a calm, quiet presence. I use only positive reinforcement and never punishment. I also send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing and can feel confident they’re in good hands upon each drop-in or walk.

Maya was reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about doing a good job caring for my cat. I received consistent updates, photos, and notes, which gave me real peace of mind. She followed all care instructions carefully and kept everything clean and organized. I came home to a happy cat and would trust Maya to watch my pet again.
Maya is amazingly sweet and took great care of my older pup, taking him on long walks, and dropping in to play and give him lots of love and belly rubs. She was very responsive and flexible, working with my needs. Ringo has found a new bestie in Maya!
We have had Maya walk our dog, Rudy, a few times and she is so great with him! Rudy can be very nervous going outside, but Maya is able to make him feel comfortable to enjoy going outside. She is very communicative and gives us lots of updates which definitely puts us at ease when we aren’t home with him. Highly recommend!!
Maya’s been absolutely wonderful! She’s incredibly accommodating, dependable and goes above and beyond! She is attentive to my pup’s needs, and it is obvious how much she genuinely cares. My pup absolutely loves her! She’s been a huge help and I couldn’t recommend her more!

Schedule
As a post-UVA Grad, I have an extremely flexible schedule following mid-May. I provide care exclusively in/around your home, including requested walks, baths, playtime, and other specified general care. I pride myself on strong communication and provide regular updates and photos so you always feel informed and at ease.

- It’s helpful to know your pet’s routine, feeding schedule, and energy level, as well as any medical needs, medications, or behavioral tendencies. I also like to know how your pet interacts with new people, any triggers or anxieties, and what they enjoy most—whether that’s walks, playtime, or quiet companionship. Clear instructions help me provide the best and most consistent care possible.
