About: My first companion came to me at the age of 10 in the shape and sassiness of a Yorkshire Terrier. For 13 years, I dedicated time, unwavering love and intentional care which carried through to her last days. This experienced cultivated both a tendency and comfortability in sitting the companions of both friends and family friends. I have experience with administering medication (and am open to learning special techniques). You can rest assured that I can and will fulfill the expectations of you and your loved one(s) during integral periods and in your absence. I specialize in dog sitting, walks, hugs, and cuddles! I currently work remotely full-time. That said, I have the ability to adjust my schedule to your preference as long as advance notice is provided. I am capable of adhering to and honoring feeding and/or walking routines. I’m all about maintaining comfort and normalcy, so please feel free to suggest toys and/or practices for your companion.

About: I love animals, especially dogs, and spend a lot of my free time volunteering at local shelters. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and disabilities. Currently I am caring for two dogs with disabilities long term: and elderly French Bulldog with partial paralysis, and a young pittie mix with three legs due to a car accident. These dogs require equal amounts of patience and love when being cared for, as well as extra attention and physical aid with mobility (ex. going up and down stairs) I'm someone who genuinely loves animals, and would do this for free if everything wasn't so expensive now. I will take the time to socialize and get to know your pet so they are comfortable, relaxed, and overjoyed when I arrive. I also have a medical background which makes me very comfortable dealing with pet medications and special needs. I currently work part time with a flexible schedule. This allows me to plan around my clients schedules and ensure I am free to care for your pet almost any day and time. I take care of two disabled dogs full time, they require extra care and attention but you can expect that same level from me when I care for any pet. You can expect me to tailor the experience to your specific doggos needs, to socialize and play with them, and to make sure they're always overjoyed when I stop by. I have good attention to detail and a medical background which allows me to handle any special needs or routines your pet has.

Rosemary did a great job house sitting for us for 9 days and taking care of our 2 small dogs. She is very responsive with communication, regularly sent photos, and kept us informed. Upon our return, the dogs were healthy & happy, and the house was neat and clean (with one exception - which was remedied easily enough). We appreciate her help and will call upon her again! Thanks Rosemary!

Steph is wonderful. She is considered and extremely polite. She took great care of our two boys and sent us daily updates and pictures. The boys looked happy and relaxed enjoying their time with Steph. She also took care of my hydrangeas that did not like the heat. We will definitely be using her when we are out of town again. Thank you Steph and Rover

Vinnie did a great job! He took care of my senior pup over the weekend while we were out of town. He dropped in 3 times a day, fed, and gave my boy his supplements/medication. Vinnie even hung around and kept my boy company after he ate, waiting for him to digest his food and then took him out again. A + service!

I am so appreciative of having Lorene as my dog sitter for our recent vacation. She kept us updated with a daily report, added some cute pictures, and learned more of the dogs’ quirks making it a great fit. We knew we could travel without any worries because she took great care of my boys. They loved hanging out with her and Cash even took on the role of “work supervisor”. Would highly recommend Lorene for any of your dog needs.

About: I have four dogs myself and I’ve worked at the Dogs Downtown Boarding/Training facility for 2 years now. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, of all personalities, puppy house/crate training, and dogs with special needs (including allergies). I know how to administer medication and emergency care, upkeep with training, and of course, giving them all the loving and play while you’re away as if they were my own. When I’m not working at the kennel your pups will have me all to themselves. I can even check on them before/after my shifts and on my 1 hour break if you’d like. I have experience with dogs of kinds of medical conditions, I’m trained in emergency protocols and I have experience administering medication. Of course, when I’m in your home my first priority will be their safety and comfort. That means making sure they’re getting all the loving and play and attention they’re craving while you’re away. When I’m in your home I won’t be staring at my phone or preoccupied with other things, I want to give my 100% to your pet because they deserve to feel like the priority, especially when they’re missing their family.

About: Have only had 9 months total of my life without a dog or a pack of them by my side. Your fur baby will be fostered as one of my own; their walk, run, or potty break is all about them! With guidance from you, we will move at their pace. If they want to go for a run... then we run! If they prefer to walk tree to tree and smell every flower, that's fine too! I am available early mornings and mid-days during the week. I also have availability nightly to check on the pups and make sure they're ready for bed. I look forward to meeting the needs of your family, if it be walking or running the dogs, or making sure they are comfortable in your home, just let me know. I am fortunate enough to have a remote role, so my schedule is usually set to my own dog's needs. I am by no means a gym rat or a marathon runner. Yet that doesn't stop me from getting in usually 2-6 miles a day, both walking and running. While my dog is crate trained, it would be great if yours is as well, for those few errands that may take me away for up to 4 hours at a time (a busy week would be 3 half days in the office)

FAQs for House Sitting - Schneider Crossroads

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Schneider Crossroads on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 9,868 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Schneider Crossroads. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Schneider Crossroads walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Schneider Crossroads maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Schneider Crossroads choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Schneider Crossroads. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
