“John and Joanna continue to be amazing substitute parents for our two little Havanese. One of our dogs was having a problem going to the bathroom (which she has a vet appointment for) and they were so attentive to her. They made both of our dogs feel welcome and loved. We can’t wait to have them watch our dogs again soon!”

“6 stars!! I just started using Rover and can’t believe my great luck. Aastha was so incredible with my dog. She sent texts and videos and was so loving to my dog. She walked him on a regular schedule and of course has a fenced yard to run around in. Aside, from the great care, she and her family made me feel so welcome in their home. Her family is just so kind. I highly recommend Aastha for all your dog sitting needs!!!”

“I had a great experience! Nami took excellent care of my dog and kept me updated with timely photos every day. Laifu was very happy and comfortable at her home, and I felt completely at ease leaving my dog with her. I would definitely book with her again!”

“Mei was the best! She took good care of our sweet Maltipoo and sent us lots of updates with pics and videos. We dropped off our puppy early in the am and due to our flight being delayed we also picked up a bit later than anticipated but Mei was wonderful and gracious.”

“Andrew took great care of our dog Apollo. I was apprehensive about using Rover for the first time, but Andrew quickly eased my concerns with his responsive messages and meet & greet with our dog. Apollo looked very content and well cared for when we picked him up - we’d definitely book with Andrew again and would recommend him to my friends!”

“As always my pugs had a great time with Lindsey! She is incredibly patient with their idiosyncrasies and general wackiness! When I ask them if they want to go see ms. Lindsey they both get excited and spin in circles to get in the car!”

“Sheridan took excellent care of Dexter, she took the time to meet and greet us before hand. She was in consistent communication and sent pictures. I feel very comfortable with leaving my dog with her.”

“Derek and Cheryl took great care of our aging beagle, Michelle, while we were out of town. It was short notice but they were flexible with their time friendly throughout the process of booking her stay. They provided daily photos and updates on how she was doing and were quick to respond to any questions we had. Michelle was more than happy with Derek and Cheryl’s care and so were we! Would highly recommend!”

“Noelle took great care of our dog! Our dog was very happy, and connected with her! She also sent regular updates, and gave us a lot of comfort of leaving our dog with her. Thanks much! :)”

“Corey took absolutely wonderful care of Ares and Athena! It’s clear they both thoroughly enjoyed their stay and got plenty of playtime and attention. I felt completely at ease knowing they were in such good hands. Highly recommend Corey to anyone looking for a caring and active sitter!”

“Ana is an amazing dog sitter. It was my dog's first time staying with her, and she went above and beyond to ensure he felt right at home. She took the time to share regular updates, which really put my mind at ease. I’m so grateful for her care and attention!”

“We've boarded our dog with Nina and Kon before and I missed my chance to leave a review the first time. They are the absolute best. They truly treat our dog as one of their own and provide frequent updates on all the activities—daily walks, trick-or-treating, and playtime with the pack. Trusting anyone with your pet is a difficult thing to do, but with Nina and Kon, we can truly relax knowing he’s in excellent hands and being well taken care of.”

“Great experience with Susan! Bo loved having a big back yard to explore and a deck to sunbathe on. Susan sent daily updates and pictures which was reassuring, and she always responded quickly when I messaged her. I’ll definitely book with her again!”

“Taylor was fantastic with my 2 dogs. She provided daily updates and photos and my girls came home happy and healthy. They will definitely stay with Taylor again and I recommend her to anyone in need of dog sitting.”

“Jaime looked after our dog, Lucky, for a month, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the care he received. Lucky was in great hands—well-fed, exercised, and comfortable the entire time. Jaime made sure to send regular updates and photos, which reassured us that Lucky was in great hands. Lucky fit right in with Jaime's family, getting along great with her two daughters and husband. They were all incredibly welcoming and kind, treating Lucky like he was part of their family. Overall, Jaime did a fantastic job, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dogsitter.”

“Staying with Heather and her lovely family was a wonderful experience for our dog Nia. Heather offered a meetup before the visit which was helpful to get to know the family and her dog Rosie. During the stay, Heather shared pictures regularly - which was comforting to see that Nia was having so much fun. Nia missed them all when I picked her up and she was very sad for a day. I would definitely look for Heather for our future needs to sit Nia and highly recommend her to any one looking for their pet.”

“Kaylyn and Naman are great pet sitters! I highly recommend them. They took great care of our dog Alli, she was very happy and relaxed with them! They were attentive to her every need and always made sure she had walks and outside time. Alli had an eye problem and they took really excellent care of her. I would definitely trust your pets with them, they’re great!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Schneider Crossroads
I was understandably a little nervous leaving my dog for the first time after he had just moved to a new area and started a new diet. At 15 years old, and being almost fully blind and largely deaf, he has unique needs and requires extra patience, attention, and consistency. Lydia immediately put me at ease. She was attentive to his routine, careful with his diet, and clearly capable of handling the special care he needs. Her regular photos and updates reassured me that he was comfortable, happy, and well cared for. Lydia and her family gave him so much love and attention that it truly felt like he had a second home. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone, especially those with senior dogs or pets with unique care needs.

Aastha and her family cared for my dog, Pepper, for four and a half days, and I was blown away by the love and attention they gave her. They played with her every day, took her on multiple walks, and sent me daily pictures of their outings. They even included her in their Halloween fun and dressed her up in a costume! I couldn’t be happier with the care they provided. It gave me such peace of mind knowing Pepper was in such loving hands. I’ll definitely book with Aastha again for my next trip and highly recommend her and her family!
James and Iryna did a wonderful job taking care of my dog Roscoe. Roscoe is a rescue who suffers from severe separation anxiety. He is also fearful of strangers. Yet he was calm and relaxed for his 24-hour stay with James and Iryna who kept him close by for the stay.

I had an amazing experience with Jinah this past weekend! She took such great care of my dog, and I could tell from the moment I picked her up that she was happy, comfortable, and well-loved. Her home was very clean, safe, and welcoming, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. She kept my dog engaged with puzzles, toys, and fun activities instead of just letting her sit around all day. It was obvious she genuinely cared about making sure my dog was happy and stimulated. I truly appreciated the love, attention, and excellent care she provided. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive pet sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Our dog (Viko) felt at home with Katie. Viko stayed during the 4th of July weekend, and is scared of fireworks. Katie took great care of Viko during that time. Katie kept us updated daily with Viko's activities. We'll definitely use Katie's services in the future. ❤️🐶

Zahra and her family did an excellent job looking after my little guy. Super responsive and they have an amazing space for you doggies to run around in. Their home was clean, they sat down with me to discuss Xerxes’ needs and made sure to check in when he was with them. I have to also note that she showed a tremendous amount of patience and flexibility when I had a delayed flight from my trip. Would definitely entrust my little guys care to them again.

Darlin was amazing with my 3.5 month old puppy. He needed to do a last minute vet visit before he was dropped off and she was incredibly flexible with our schedule, which helped reduce my stress before going out of town for a few days. While he was there it sounded like he had the best time and got a ton of love despite being deep into his land shark/piranha phase. It was such a relief to know that my pup was not only safe, taken care of, but was also having a truly great time. I highly recommend and will be looking to her next time I need someone to watch my pup!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
