“John and Joanna were terrific! They were very patient with Coco who was pretty anxious getting used to her new surroundings. They made sure to give her lots of love and frequently sent pictures to update us. Very grateful for their services!”

“Veronica took care of Oliver for 9-days while we were on vacation. She kept us posted with messages and pictures of Oliver practically daily. Oliver really enjoyed his stay and meeting new friends that he was a bit dull after returning home. I will use Veronica again and I highly recommend her.”
“Hoa is an amazing caretaker. Her passion for caring for senior dogs is evident. She is conscientious, responsive, and timely, and was diligent in administering medication to my dog as requested. She also kept Hallie active, providing plenty of walks and outdoor activity. I would be happy to use Hoa’s services again.”

“This was our first time leaving our dog with someone outside of family and friends, and we couldn’t have been happier! Guojin took such great care of her, kept us updated with photos, and gave us so much peace of mind. We’d absolutely book with her again!”

“Andrew and his family took care of my old guy Brownie so well - I do not think my doggie missed me! He was very good at keeping me informed and sent lots of pictures. My dog enjoyed his stay with his new second family.”

“Teddy spent 2 days with Ali and her family. He is still young and likes to play a lot and they spent plenty of time playing with him. He came home so tired he pretty much crashed the rest of the day! This is Teddy's first time at Ali's and only his 2nd with a pet sitter so receiving updates and pictures put my mind at ease. I would definitely book with Ali again.”

“Charlotte had a wonderful stay with James and Iryna. I received photos, videos and regular updates each day Charlotte stayed with them. I would definitely use them again in the future.”

“I met Wyatt at the meet and greet, and he was super friendly. His dog, Alien, was also very nice to my puppy. Wyatt took care of my puppy for two nights and three days and sent me regular updates on how my puppy was doing throughout his stay at Wyatt’s house. I trust Wyatt, and my puppy and I will definitely be visiting him again soon!”

“This is our second time leaving our furbaby, Peach, with Poornima and she did a wonderful job looking after her! Poornima sent pictures, videos, and updates throughout the day which we really appreciated. Her dog, Arjun (also lovingly known as Joe!!), is very sweet and the best pup friend Peach could ask for. We highly recommend Poornima as she is an amazing and attentive sitter!!!”

“Corey took great care of our two dogs and kept me informed with lots of pictures and videos! We had last minute changes to our travel plans and Corey was very flexible with us. I would not hesitate to book Corey again for future dog sitting!”

“This was the second time we left Bailey with Heather and he practically ripped my arm off racing from the car to her front door, which is exactly what we wanted. It is important to us that Bailey is excited to visit and feels comfortable when we're away and Heather provides that and more. Heather boarded more than Bailey this particular weekend and she took such great care to make sure he didn't get too worn out playing and had time away from the other pups to rest. We just love the care she provides!”
“It was our 1st experience with them, we cannot thank them enough!!! Prior to Onboarding, they asked about Rosie to get to know her better with every detail such as medical conditions, medication schedules, and personality. They uploaded Photos and Videos with summary on Rosie every day. We are relieved during our trip due to their thorough care. We felt lucky to meet them, and would like to ask them to sit Rosie again. Thank you very much again for your care.”

“I would give Ashle 6 stars if I could! She took great care of Nani! Sent me photos and video updates, was flexible with drop off and pick up time which I appreciated most. The best surprise was when I picked up my pup and she had a little treat bag for her with a sweet card and keepsake picture of her! I was worried with my pups food allergies but she followed all my instructions and I can tell Ashle takes her job very seriously. I think I found my star sitter!”
About: Over the past 20 years, I’ve had three dogs, a Pomeranian, an Akita, and a Yorkshire Terrier. Each one had a different personality, but they were all very attached to me. None of them went to a training school, but they were all well-behaved. I trained them myself before they turned one year old. I currently live in a clean, quiet, pet-free home. There are no pets living in the house at this time, so visiting dogs will not have to share the space with other animals or adjust to another pet’s presence or scent. I only accept small dogs up to 20 lbs and prefer low-shedding breeds. My home provides a calm, clean, and comfortable environment where dogs can feel safe and relaxed during their stay. I’m home most of the day, so your dog will rarely be left alone. Big park around the house. Like walk and play with dog. Small dogs need lots of attention and one-on-one care, which is why I only host one dog at a time. I follow each owner’s feeding routine and do not give dogs any human food. Small dogs can have sensitive stomachs, so I believe consistency is important. My goal is to provide a quiet, comfortable, clean, and healthy environment where every dog can feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for.
“Victoria was absolutely amazing! Oliver came back so happy and relaxed. It was clear he had a wonderful time and bonded really well with everyone there—he even seemed to miss them afterward! Thank you so much, Victoria, for taking such great care of him. We truly appreciate it and would highly recommend you to anyone looking for a loving and reliable dog sitter.”

“Nalleli and her family showed our dog mych live and attention while we were away! She took him on many adventures, gave him special healthy treats, and lots of cuddles!”

Noelle is exactly what I would hope to find when looking for a sitter for the first time with our large puppy. She loves dogs and is very knowledgeable about them. She is also great at communication about your pet. Will definitely reach out to Noelle again for future needs! Thank you, Noelle!

John and Joanna took very good care of our 7 year old rescue. Alvin has not had a lot of experience with boarding and they made him comfortable within the first day. They were very attentive and sent frequent messages regarding Alvin’s well being. We will definitely bring him back the next time we need to board.

Melissa was great! She paid close attention to our instructions and advice. We were nervous because our dogs had never stayed with a non-family member before, but she took care of them as if they were her own. They obviously were comfortable with her and we would definitely use her again.

Leonard and Patricia along with their two dogs welcomed Harley and Miami with open arms and tail wags. They felt right at home and played well together. Miami found that her person was Leonard during the stay. Harley was running around with Leonard’s dogs all weekend. Harley usually is the one that follows humans but this time he gravitated to his dogs. We appreciate the level of care that Leonard and Patricia provided to our dogs we will definitely return.

Erika and her family took fantastic care of my pup Willow! My dog is a rescue who is pretty scared of anyone who isn’t me and Erika took that to heart and didn’t crowd her with too much too soon. Willow knew she was safe with her very quickly and Erika’s son and partner even won her over by the end of the stay! I would trust her again with my pup in a heartbeat.

Mei was the best! She took good care of our sweet Maltipoo and sent us lots of updates with pics and videos. We dropped off our puppy early in the am and due to our flight being delayed we also picked up a bit later than anticipated but Mei was wonderful and gracious.

Katie was absolutely amazing!! I had to go out of town at the last minute, and she provided a safe and happy place for Raja, my German Shepherd Mix, to relax while I was out of town. I got multiple updates and photos per day, and she followed every instruction I left to the letter. I highly, HIGHLY recommend booking with Katie if you have a chance, because I know I will definitely be using her services in the future. Thank you, Katie!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Willow Springs home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Willow Springs.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Willow Springs sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
