“Joanna and John took amazing care of our dogs! They checked and double checked feeding times, what treats they are allowed, potty times, etc! We received detailed daily updates and photos. Our dogs stayed for 7 nights and were given baths at the end, and we were also sent home with a thoughtful gift! This is all after I changed the drop off and pick up times a bunch of times! The pups were very well taken care of and spoiled! I would highly recommend Joanna and John anytime! 😊😊😊”

“I can’t say enough good things about the care my 12-year-old baby Dharma received! Leaving an older dog behind is never easy, but from the moment we connected, I knew Dharma would be in loving hands. Mei was incredibly attentive, patient, and truly treated Dharma like part of the family. I received regular updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. Dharma came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely loves dogs and understands the needs of senior pups, Mei is the one. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of my girl!”

“This was our first time leaving our dog with Catherine. It was obvious that he was well cared for. We could tell from the pictures that Catherine sent with regularity that he was happy and comfortable in her home. He came home today and settled very nicely right back into his routine. We also appreciated Catherine’s flexibility when our flights changed and we had to add on an extra night. We will definitely be using Catherine’s services again in the future.”

“Angelique provided my dog with a great experience. She is responsive, thorough, and detail oriented. She provided me with pictures and information about my dog while he was in her care. We will definitely engage her services again!”

“Lindsey was very kind, caring and patient with my senior dog in her care for a week. She texted some photos during the week to let me know he was safe and happy. What more can you ask? We'll be back!”

“Hoa was great! Our dog was a happy pup staying with her. She had lots of toys for him to play with and puzzles to get treats! Very kind, loved all the pictures and videos she sent while we were away”

“Hannah was great. She was very communicative and shared photos of our boy with us while we were away. Our dog was very happy and relaxed during his stay with Hannah and the beagles.”

“Katie was amazing! Teddy had such a fun time with her and her cats. Even though I booked last minute, she was so accommodating. She kept me updated throughout the day and was great with communication. I’d definitely love for her to watch Teddy again in the future!”

“Jeannette took good care of LuLu during the stay, and sent multiple pictures updates. I will definitely recommend and will book again if I need a sitter in the future! Thanks again Jeannette!”

“Candice was an excellent sitter for Ahsoka. They took to each other immediately and she sent me plenty of pictures. Ahsoka was very loved and I look forward to hiring Candice again.”

“Fatima has been great with my dog, Cody. She sent updates and pictures regularly and kept us informed on his daily activities. She has taken care of Cody on two separate times over the last month and we have been extremely pleased. We will be booking with her again soon.”

“AMAZING. By far our best experience with anyone on Rover! Priscilla was very communicative. Perfect amount of pictures and videos as well as updates on how the stay was going. I could really tell that our girl was getting the care and attention she is used to as well as play time. We have an English bulldog, and anyone with one knows their folds need daily care, and I could see Priscilla gave these areas attention care as well. I would feel most confident and comfortable bringing our girl back to Priscilla without hesitation!”

“It was my last min decision to take kids to crabbing past weekend. Hyoun was able to accept my dear Rolo even though it was such a short notice. Even though Rolo was such a picky eater she had extra magic under her sleeve to have him finish eating every meal. Definitely recommending her!!”

“Being an anxious first time fur ma (to my baby Gollum), I've been feeling loads of guilt for an upcoming international trip. So I decided to do a trial run for a night, and Andrea (and her husband) were amazing! They even set up a time beforehand for a meet and greet, where they answered all of my questions, met w/ Gollum and gave him treats, and helped me feel so much more comfortable. During the one night stay, Andrea was consistent in communication, sending pics/videos, answering my questions, and being so kind w/ my fur ma anxiety. I feel less guilty knowing that Gollum will be in good, loving hands if I ever need hi to board. 10/10 recommend and would book again!!”

“Poornima is an incredibly kind and responsive sitter. Our first sitter cancelled last minute but Poornima was super flexible and accepted our booking on short notice. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing our dog, Peach, was in her care. She sent us a lot of pictures and took amazing care of Peach. Peach had a lot of fun with Joe, her chocolate lab as well. We really recommend Poornima if you need a sitter!”

“Lee was absolutely amazing with my dogs! I booked very last minute after my original sitter fell through, and I was so relieved that she was available. She was extremely attentive, sent frequent picture updates, and kept me informed the entire time, which gave me so much peace of mind. My dogs felt comfortable and at ease with her right away. She was also very well-prepared and had plenty of dog supplies and items on hand, which showed how experienced and thoughtful she is. I would definitely book with Lee again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

I was incredibly nervous leaving my dog reactive GSD with someone besides family and friends, but Angelina did an amazing job taking care of Zara. Zara was loved on, given tons of attention and was treated the way I’d treat her at home. Angelina asked how often I wanted updates and always sent them at the best times. Zara didn’t seem stressed when she left and because of all of this, I would absolutely book with Angelina again.

Leonard - Did great with our Luna for first boarding with Leonard and his partner and doggies. He sent a daily picture and kept us updated very timely following morning inquiries. His two Shepherd doggies gave Luna lots of company. Plan to use them again when needed. Great Quality Option for Boarding. Jim

Zahra and her family were wonderful to my dog Lula. As an anxious dog mom—the way they treated her like their own was enough assurance to me that they can be trusted. She was communicative to me and very attentive to Lula. My dog did sustain an accident during her stay with Zahra and had to be rushed to the ER. Although it was an unfortunate event, Zahra and her family were very accommodating, kind, and supportive in the process. Accidents can happen at anytime yet I have no dissatisfaction towards Zahra and her family. I still highly recommend them for dog parents seeking extra helping hands. Plus she has a beautiful, large backyard for some playtime.

From the very first meet and greet, Joanna was so sweet with our Jersey boy. By the time we dropped him off for his stay, he ran straight to her without even saying bye to us 😂 Joanna kept us updated the whole time with pictures and videos, and it was so clear that Jersey got attached to her so quickly. On top of that, Joanna has such a wonderful sense of humor and personality. She made us feel comfortable from the start, which made leaving Jersey with her so much easier. You can truly tell she loves dogs with her whole heart, and it shows in the way she cares for them. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Jersey was not only well taken care of, but also loved and completely spoiled by Joanna and her family. Thank you so much for treating our fur baby like one of your own and making him feel right at home. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We’ll definitely be booking with Joanna and John again!

This is our second time leaving our furbaby, Peach, with Poornima and she did a wonderful job looking after her! Poornima sent pictures, videos, and updates throughout the day which we really appreciated. Her dog, Arjun (also lovingly known as Joe!!), is very sweet and the best pup friend Peach could ask for. We highly recommend Poornima as she is an amazing and attentive sitter!!!

Ji Ung & Hyunjoo did an amazing job caring for our Bichon! She was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for during her stay. We loved receiving updates and really appreciated the excellent communication they maintained with us throughout. It's never easy leaving your furry family member with someone else, especially for several days, but Ji and Hyunjoo gave us complete peace of mind. We are so grateful to have found them and would absolutely book with them again. Highly recommended!
Fatima has been great with my dog, Cody. She sent updates and pictures regularly and kept us informed on his daily activities. She has taken care of Cody on two separate times over the last month and we have been extremely pleased. We will be booking with her again soon.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
