“Madison did a great job caring for Arthur! Perfect amount of communication, showed up right on time and did everything that was asked. Couldn’t ask for a better sitter! Would definitely book with her again.”

“Emily was awesome and super reliable. It was my first time leaving my new dog for a trip and she really put my mind at ease. She is super communicative and took awesome photos of my dogs! 100% recommend her.”

About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats since 2021. I worked at a couple of doggy daycare facilities, and I worked at a vet clinic as a kennel assistant for a year. I am currently home over the summer from school. My schedule is available every day to help take care of your animals. I am willing to come in to check up on your animals 2 to 3 times a visit and I can give them enough time to socialize. Anytime I will enter the clients home. I will make sure the door is locked. I will make sure to leave your house clean and spotless.
About: I love making connections with new paw-bearing friends! My family and I have been raising cats and dogs my whole life, so I've spent years nurturing my family dogs and cats. I'm happy to follow preset instructions or work with you to make a new plan for whatever your fur-babies need. Allow me to make your daily routine, or special occasion, a little simpler by ensuring your pet gets the care they need. Hmu! Most of my time during the week is for pet care, however I do work a part time job at Crumbl. With a little planning/preparation, it won't be a burden, pinky promise! Prioritizing any kind of instruction, keeping space between your pet and others, allowing them plenty of time to explore on walks and giving your pet plenty of lovins', are the most important to me to upkeep safety during any job.
“Megan was a fantastic sitter for our dog, Maverick and cat, Alfred. She was right on time for each of the drop-in visits requested, was thorough in detailing her care, and communicated what was going on every step of the way. I highly recommend Megan and her animal care services.”

“Sam was SO awesome! She was so responsive and her communication the entire time was exceptional. She immediately gave my pup so many snuggles and spent time while I was not there truly making him feel at home. I cannot recommend Sam enough!!”

“She was wonderful with our two cats! She sent lots of photos and regular updates, including details on food intake, litter box activity, and playtime, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Our cats were clearly comfortable and well cared for. We’d absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to other cat parents.”

“Shaye was extremely attentive and caring towards our senior cat! We left Oscar in their care for about a week and you can tell that a bond slowly formed and he was excited for each and every visit! We also got some great photos of our boy every visit!”

“I was really nervous about leaving my cat Phoebe with a new sitter while I was out of town. Carole came over to meet me us before hand to find out what I'd like done during her visits. This definitely helped put my mind at ease. Carole took great care of Phoebe and was even able to give her the medication she needed. Really enjoyed getting the daily updates and picture. I will definitely be using Carole again the next time I need a sitter.”
“Riley took excellent care of our 2 dogs, 1 cat, a hedgehog and a turtle! She is a saint with my Rottweiler too! Most people we have tried to have come over are hesitant and nervous and the dog can sense that and be aggressive. She had no issues with Riley. I loved reading her detailed notes about each visit. She spent plenty of time at the house and showed love and care to all our animals. It gave us such peace of mind while we were traveling. We will definitely be using her again!”

“Did such a good job with my high maintenance boys! Also maintained really great communication and updates! Came home to very happy and well cared for fellas!”

About: I love dogs but not enough to steal yours because I have high morals. Does your dog have a lot of energy? Do they need to be outside and exercise? I will take them for a run, to play fetch, tug of war! Or if it’s an older dog than maybe an easy stroll around the neighborhood and back home for a nap. Each dog is different and will be treated as the best good boy (or girl). I have dog sit for friends and family in the past with no issues. So just know if you go with me your lovely pup will be cared for. I am seeking dogs to bring some joy into my life and hope that you will choose me!
“Heather did a great job of taking care of our cat while we were out of town. She is an excellent communicator and let us know that kitty was scratching rather vigorously at one of her ears and sent us pictures of what was happening. We figure it was mostly from the separation anxiety, but Heather was incredible and she even spent more time during visits to help kitty acclimate and feel a bit more comfortable and less stressed out.”

“Kaitlin, thank you for taking care of Bagheera again! I appreciate the photos and updates. Thanks also for suggesting a great alternate sitter for the day you couldn’t care for her!”

About: Eating, medicine, play time will follow your normal routine. Will send pictures/videos as often as you would like, I want you to be happy and comfortable knowing your pet is having a wonderful time Tzu, Pugs, Portuguese Water Dogs, Goldens. I work for Fairfax County Public Schools in the Administration office and am home every day by 3pm during the week. Please provide their normal schedule for feeding time and exercise so I can maintain this while you are away. I offer overnight stays aimed for those that work night shifts that would need to be dropped off in the afternoon/evening and picked up by 4am the next morning. I offer to come pick up your pet and take you to the airport and you can leave your car at your home. They will have free run of the house and will be taken on frequent walks. Bull Run Park is near the property that has miles of trails and a creek nearby and if they like to swim. I will follow your instructions, walking times, feeding time, medication etc. I don't have cameras in my home but I will take pictures and videos of your pet every day and send them to you so that you know they are happy and healthy. It's important that they are not aggressive, and are cat/dog/people friendly. The safety and welfare of your pet is my #1 priority. I do insist on a meet and greet prior to drop off to see if they are ok with this environment. This will help them get comfortable being here with you and I find this reduces their stress during drop off.
“We have used Cassie a couple times now and will continue to book walks with her! She is very punctual and leaves detailed reviews and pictures. I can relax knowing my pups are in good hands with her!”

“Nazeeya is a super kind, thoughtful dog sitter who made sure to ask all the important questions to be able to care for Baby in the best way. She has a true love for animals and sent very cute updates of Baby so I could see how he was doing while I was away. I would recommend Nazeeya to anyone who needs a loving, experienced animal care taker!”

“Hannah took great care of our dog, Oliver, while we were out of town for the weekend! She took the time to come meet Oliver prior to us leaving, which we truly appreciated. He got lots of love and attention and he loved the walks she took him on and she consistently kept us updated while we were away with messages and pictures. We would highly recommend Hannah to take care of your fur babies!”

This was our second time having Yiyi watch our dog, Daisy. She is amazing! Daisy has separation anxiety and Yiyi did everything she could to make Daisy happy and comfortable. She gave Daisy extra time and attention. Yiyi sends so many fantastic pictures and is great at communicating so you always know what is going on with your pet. I would definitely recommend Yiyi to anyone who wants a very caring and loving person to take care of their pets.

Samantha was an amazing sitter for our two cats while we were gone on vacation. They really warmed up to her and felt comfortable with her, even our shy guy, which made us feel better about leaving them for so long. She sent great pics and updates and was extremely reliable, always showing up on time. We also appreciated how she was flexible and accepted us as a last minute booking. We will definitely be reaching back out to her for future petsitting needs :)

I highly recommend Fernanda as a dog walker. She is reliable, always on time, and communicates exceptionally well. She responded to my request quickly and made the entire process easy and stress-free. I appreciate her professionalism and dependability, and I always feel confident that my dog is in good hands.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
