“I had an excellent experience! Emily was incredibly kind, communicative, and took wonderful care of my cats. I came home to happy, well-cared-for animals, and the flowers she left as a thank-you were such a thoughtful and unexpected touch. I would absolutely book with Emily again and highly recommend her to anyone on Rover.”

“Melianna was fantastic with my boy, kept me updated for each visit with pictures and went above and beyond with him in my absence! 10/10, 5 stars, full recommendation on my part”

About: We’ve always had a love for animals and have experience caring for pets with different personalities, routines, and needs. We currently have a dog and a cat of our own, so we understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your pets. We’re comfortable providing walks, feeding, playtime, potty breaks, litter box care, and plenty of attention and companionship. We’ll follow your instructions closely and keep you updated with photos and messages during each visit. Our goal is to make your pets feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while you’re away. We’ll treat your pets and your home with the same care and respect we’d want for our own. We have flexible weekday and weekend availability. One of us is typically available on weekdays before 1:30 PM, while the other is available after 3 PM. Most weekends are open as well, and we’ll keep our Rover calendar updated so you can easily see our availability. We take your pets’ safety seriously and will follow their normal routines and your care instructions closely. We’re comfortable caring for pets in their own homes and will always be mindful of doors, gates, leashes, and other potential safety concerns.

About: I grew up with a house full of pets including cats, dogs, and budgies. Currently I have my own cat Cloe and a turtle named Joe. I have experience caring for my elderly childhood cat who requires chemo pills, laxatives, and special food. Im currently searching for employment so my schedule is completely open. Can work weekends and weekdays at any time, preferably weekdays 10 am to 5pm. At my apartment I care for my 4 year old feline. She likes to play with her string toy and watch cat tv. Shes very food motivated so we always have treats on hand. At my parents house we have a fenced in backyard for the dog and lots of indoor space for their 4 cats. My childhood cat needs medication and special food so he is fed seperately from the other 3 cats. Every cat i've ever owend has been exclusively indoor.
“Gabby is one of the best cat sitters I've ever had. She was so sweet and loving to both my cats. My shy girl warmed right up to her and even let Gabby pet her belly. My cat has never done that with a sitter before! I was able to relax on my trip knowing Gabby would take great care of my babies! I will definitely be hiring her again again!! Thank you so much, Gabby!!”

“Courtney was incredibly helpful and was a wonderful backup when our normal Care wasn’t available. We appreciate how prompt she was and communicative during her visits. Thank you for being so kind and loving to our babies!”

About: I have a 3 year old female doodle who will be in the home during any day care or boarding visits. I also cared for a shih-tzu growing up. I care for every dog like they’re my own 🐶 I handle this account with my partner, Yung. If I’m not available, I will let you know if he is to care for your furry friend! We live in an apartment which means we’re able to go on 3-4 walks a day or however many your pup requires. My partner, Yung, works from home so your pup will be able to be supervised throughout the day. Safety is my top priority! I live in an apartment-which allows for keeping a close eye on your pet! Also, the space gives me an excuse to take your pet on multiple daily walks! I follow all pet parent instructions closely from dietary needs, medication schedules, to behavior preferences. Please note: We cannot guarantee that your pup will be the only pet under our care during their stay. However, we crate our dog and the other dog(s) who are crate trained and provide crates for their stay. We also have pet gates and other rooms we utilize to separate everyone if we have to step out. We never leave dogs together unsupervised.

About: I have cared for animals in various settings for many years. I have handled many medical issues, giving medications as injections, orally, topically. I love all the furbabies, but don't have any of my own at the moment so it's really nice for me to get some animal time. I also currently have a very flexible day and evening schedule, so I can be available for a variety of needs. I currently work part-time and care for family, so my schedule is highly variable and it's easy to fit in visits for feeding and playtime pretty much any day of the week. I also don't plan to have any travel or major commitments over the winter holidays, so I'm able to holiday cat visits and even overnights throughout December/January. I take your beloved pets' safety and comfort very seriously, I would never want any thing to happen to them on my watch. I will confirm that I have all of the important information I need when entering your home, and will fully document everything that takes place when I am there so you can have peace of mind that your fur baby is safe and happy while you are gone.
“Teju communicates extremely well and showed true care towards my cat. They went above and beyond while I was away and I would absolutely love to rebook them in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lewis Park
Cynthia has a very gentle, calming way about her and our 2 cats just loved her. She did everything we asked and beyond, and had plenty of treat, play and attention time built into her visit. We were gone for 10 days and our cats seemed perfectly calm and content on our return. Thank you, Cynthia, for your kindness and care.

Courtney is outstanding!!! She takes such great care of our 15year old sweet dog and as a bonus…her pictures are simply the best! All our favorite pictures of our dogs have come from Courtney’s visits! She is a fantastic communicator and is always so responsible!! Your animals are in the best hands with her!!
Fatima was wonderful with Hyori! She was punctual, responsible, kept us updated, and sent pictures throughout our trip. We were especially nervous about Hyori’s insulin, but Fatima followed all of our instructions perfectly and made sure she ate, got her shot, and had plenty of playtime. We felt very comfortable knowing Hyori was in such great hands. We would definitely hire Fatima again!

We highly recommend Susannah for your pet sitting needs, she is wonderful. She took care of all 3 of our pets as well as our fish! She was thorough in the feeding, cleaning up after, etc. and was in constant communication every day. She is wonderful, book her!!! 😀😁

Natassia is amazing! We feel so at ease when she’s coming to walk our puppy! She sends details updates, on time, easy to talk to, and our dog LOVES her, seriously!!!! I highly recommend Natassia if you want to be able to relax while you’re away from your pets

I highly recommend Fernanda as a dog walker. She is reliable, always on time, and communicates exceptionally well. She responded to my request quickly and made the entire process easy and stress-free. I appreciate her professionalism and dependability, and I always feel confident that my dog is in good hands.

manrong was communicative, reliable, clean, and great with both our highly anxious dog and cat. our cat has never come out for a sitter until we booked with her, which really spoke volumes. manrong also followed all my instructions and made adjustments when asked. she was patient and gentle with our babies so i felt completely at ease while we were gone. i’d definitely recommend her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
