About: I love dogs but not enough to steal yours because I have high morals. Does your dog have a lot of energy? Do they need to be outside and exercise? I will take them for a run, to play fetch, tug of war! Or if it’s an older dog than maybe an easy stroll around the neighborhood and back home for a nap. Each dog is different and will be treated as the best good boy (or girl). I have dog sit for friends and family in the past with no issues. So just know if you go with me your lovely pup will be cared for. I am seeking dogs to bring some joy into my life and hope that you will choose me!

About: I’ve been caring for cats for years and currently have three of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can genuinely trust with your pets. I’m comfortable with cats of different personalities, including shy, playful, independent, and very affectionate cats. I’m attentive to their individual routines and personalities and will make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, food, fresh water, playtime, and clean litter while you’re away. Although most of my personal experience is with cats, I also love dogs and would be happy to care for them as well. I’m patient, responsible, and treat every pet like they’re my own. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel comfortable and cared for while you’re apart. I work most days, so I plan to schedule pet care around my work hours and only accept bookings that fit well with my availability. I want to make sure I have enough time to give each cat the attention and care they need rather than rushing through a visit. For drop in visits, I’m happy to come to the owner’s home while they’re away to feed their cats, refresh their water, clean their litter box, and spend some time playing with them or giving them attention. I’m also happy to send updates and pictures so you know how they’re doing while you’re gone. I’ll make sure we go over the cat’s usual routine beforehand so I can keep things as familiar and comfortable as possible for them.

“Carrie took such great care of our kitty cat princess while we were away! She was very communicative and sent over great picture updates. We will definitely be using her services again in the future!”

I am flexible and can hang out with your pets as much as you would like. I am open to late nights or early mornings as well. I believe that pets are the most comfortable in their own homes. It’s better to come to them so they can stay where they know, rather than having to get comfortable in a new place.
About: Hi! I’m Kailah, a reliable pet-sitter and dog-walker located in Centreville, VA. I love animals, and currently work as a receptionist at a veterinary office. I also have 5 years of experience working as a doggy daycare/boarding associate. I have extensive knowledge on canine behavior, body language, and health. I currently have one dog of my own. I can do boarding and walks at anytime on weekends. I have a fenced in yard and two dogs in my house. One pup belongs to me, and she does well with other dogs. I live in a 3 story townhouse and have multiple safety gates and rooms in our home so that dogs can safely be separated.

“Lisa did an outstanding job of daily visits with my 13 y/o Belgain Malinois, K9 Tery. She was punctual, professional and very loving to my old gal. About: We’re a husband-and-wife team with a lifelong love of animals and years of experience caring for both dogs and cats—especially rescues. We’ve worked with anxious and reactive pets, administered medications, and provided the extra attention they need to feel safe and comfortable. Our own family includes a 65lb rescue Foxhound and a rescue tabby cat, so we understand the quirks and joys that come with rescue pets. Audrey works from home full time, and Shane is a teacher, which means we have a flexible schedule and your pets won’t be left alone. We’ll make sure they’re happy, healthy, and loved like our own. Audrey works from home full time and Shane is a teacher, so someone will be home with your pet at all times. We make it a priority to follow your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. Our typical day looks like this: 6–7 AM: Wake up, potty break in the yard, and breakfast 12–1 PM: 45-minute walk 4–5 PM: Playtime in the yard, potty break, and dinner 8–9 PM: Final potty break in the yard before bedtime For dog boarding: Our dog loves meeting and playing with other dogs, so your pup will have a built-in playmate. Our cat will always be kept in a separate room to ensure everyone’s comfort. Since Audrey works from home full time and Shane is a teacher, your dog will always have company and supervision. For cat boarding: Your cat will enjoy a private guest room set up just for them, complete with a litter box, cat tree, toys, and all the comforts they need. To help them feel secure, one of us will spend time in the room during the day—often working from there—so they’ll have companionship and attention throughout their stay.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
