“Our dog Summer has been having a great time in weekly doggie daycare with Katheryn (and her dog Phoebe). Katheryn is very active with Summer, taking her on multiple walks and to the dog park. Summer loves being outside and sniffing around so this is perfect for her! Katheryn has kept me posted on how the day care went with notes, pictures, and videos of their activities and hanging out at the house. Katheryn also has a back yard where Summer loves to hang out and she can come and go as she pleases. I definitely recommend Katheryn!”

“Joanna and John have been amazing with Peanut. I’ve been to many sitters around the area, in and out of rover, and I’ve never had a better experience than here. They are extremely friendly, super flexible, and will make sure your dog gets all the attention they need. They are very detail oriented to make sure my dog got the best experience and ensured that he will be very comfortable during his stay. Joanna kept me updated throughout the day with pictures and a breakdown of how he’s doing so far. She’s is also attentive and very responsive if I ever had any questions about how things were going. Another plus is that they have a very big yard for peanut to run around in. Joanna will take him outside multiple times a day to run around and makes sure he gets a lot of exercise. She makes sure to create a safe environment for all the dogs to play together as well. The house and yard are kept extremely clean everyday for the dogs, so I know I can feel comfortable every time I bring him over for daycare or to stay the night. All in all, I’m super happy I found them, Peanut has been having a blast. I will definitely be booking more stays with them in the future. If you’re looking for a sitter, I would highly recommend!”

“Taylor did a wonderful job with our Bagel! He had a blast with her Bagel (there’s two Bagels 🥯 which are both beagles). She was quite accommodating in a slight schedule change and communicated about all of our Bagel’s activities. Would love for our Bagels to get together again!”

“Lana had a great time and was well cared for during her time with Susan! I could see how much fun she was having when I picked her up and that she was happy, so I know she had a good time :)”

“AMAZING ROVER! One of the very best, if not the best, I've ever had (out of a dozen or more throughout my dog's lifetime)!! Top-notch, INCREDIBLE communication! Lovely home! Photos, videos, texts... I knew Diego was in OUTSTANDING hands while I attended a nearby wedding. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Jimin. Thank you SO much!!”

“My shy and takes a while to warm up dog got really comfortable with Aimee and her husband over a couple of trial day care sessions. They’re boarding him over thanksgiving and my mind’s at ease knowing he’ll be well cared for in a wonderful home environment.”

“Carolina was so sweet and accommodating!! She had to be ready to receive my pups at 6 am, which is so early and had them for a very long day! I felt relieved knowing that my pups were in good hands. Suki is quite hyper when she first arrives to a new place and Carolina was so patient with her, a true dog lover!!”

“Thank you so much, Hannah, for taking care so well of Lucy! I can tell she had a great time with you and I would always trust you with her again. I loved the pictures you shared during her stay and the smooth drop off and pick up process. Thank you once again!”

I am available at home everyday to play and take care of the dogs. I can take them out for walks and play frequently as well as clean them if they get too dirty from playing outside! I have a fenced yard with access of great sunlight and fresh air for the dogs to run around and play. Lots of land and toys for them to explore.
“Lee is an amazing dog sitter!! You can tell she enjoys the company of dogs and loves to give them love!! From the moment Romeo got to her place, he was excited to see her! She sent lots of pictures and videos of him with a happy Waggy tail. She took him for a long walk and he came home a tired boy. I think Rome has found any best friend!! =)”

“Wyatt is great! Our dog is very very picky about people but she instantly loved Wyatt! He gave us lots of updates and some pictures, and it seemed like our pup really enjoyed her doggy day care time. We will definitely book again!”

About: Hi! I’m a dedicated and experienced pet caregiver with over 10 years of experience working with dogs and 1 year of experience caring for cats. Animals have been a central part of my life, and I truly enjoy building trust with each pet I care for. For the past 3 years, I’ve also been an active foster with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, caring for dogs in need of temporary homes, and I’ve recently begun fostering cats as well. Through fostering, I’ve gained extensive hands-on experience with animals of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. I’ve cared for puppies through senior dogs (up to 15 years old), including pets recovering from illness, surgery, and ongoing medical conditions. I’m comfortable administering medications, following specific care instructions, and providing calm, attentive support to pets who need a little extra care and patience. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or older and needs a gentler routine, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment. I treat every animal like they’re my own and prioritize communication so you always feel confident while you’re away. Pet care is a consistent and natural part of my weekly routine. I currently foster dogs through Homeward Trails Animal Rescue and also care for foster cats, so my days already revolve around feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, training reinforcement, and monitoring overall health and behavior. I’m used to structuring my day around animal needs, including early mornings and flexible check-ins throughout the day. Because I’ve cared for pets with a wide range of needs—from energetic puppies to senior dogs and animals recovering from illness or surgery—I’m comfortable adjusting my schedule to provide reliable, attentive care when needed. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and structured environment for every pet in my care. In my home, I maintain a pet-friendly space that is clean, supervised, and free of hazards, with routines that help animals feel secure and comfortable. I follow each pet’s normal schedule as closely as possible, including feeding, potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, and rest time. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and routines and aim to minimize disruption. I carefully follow all instructions provided, including feeding schedules, medication needs, training guidelines, and any behavioral notes. I also make sure doors, gates, and crates are secured and that pets are always supervised during care. Because of my experience fostering through Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, I’m very comfortable caring for pets with a wide range of needs, including anxious animals, seniors, and pets recovering from medical issues. My goal is always to provide consistent, attentive care so pets feel safe and owners feel at ease while they’re away.
About: We’re a husband-and-wife team with a lifelong love of animals and years of experience caring for both dogs and cats—especially rescues. We’ve worked with anxious and reactive pets, administered medications, and provided the extra attention they need to feel safe and comfortable. Our own family includes a 65lb rescue Foxhound and a rescue tabby cat, so we understand the quirks and joys that come with rescue pets. Audrey works from home full time, and Shane is a teacher, which means we have a flexible schedule and your pets won’t be left alone. We’ll make sure they’re happy, healthy, and loved like our own. Audrey works from home full time and Shane is a teacher, so someone will be home with your pet at all times. We make it a priority to follow your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. Our typical day looks like this: 6–7 AM: Wake up, potty break in the yard, and breakfast 12–1 PM: 45-minute walk 4–5 PM: Playtime in the yard, potty break, and dinner 8–9 PM: Final potty break in the yard before bedtime For dog boarding: Our dog loves meeting and playing with other dogs, so your pup will have a built-in playmate. Our cat will always be kept in a separate room to ensure everyone’s comfort. Since Audrey works from home full time and Shane is a teacher, your dog will always have company and supervision. For cat boarding: Your cat will enjoy a private guest room set up just for them, complete with a litter box, cat tree, toys, and all the comforts they need. To help them feel secure, one of us will spend time in the room during the day—often working from there—so they’ll have companionship and attention throughout their stay.
About: Eating, medicine, play time will follow your normal routine. Will send pictures/videos as often as you would like, I want you to be happy and comfortable knowing your pet is having a wonderful time Tzu, Pugs, Portuguese Water Dogs, Goldens. I work for Fairfax County Public Schools in the Administration office and am home every day by 3pm during the week. Please provide their normal schedule for feeding time and exercise so I can maintain this while you are away. I offer overnight stays aimed for those that work night shifts that would need to be dropped off in the afternoon/evening and picked up by 4am the next morning. I offer to come pick up your pet and take you to the airport and you can leave your car at your home. They will have free run of the house and will be taken on frequent walks. Bull Run Park is near the property that has miles of trails and a creek nearby and if they like to swim. I will follow your instructions, walking times, feeding time, medication etc. I don't have cameras in my home but I will take pictures and videos of your pet every day and send them to you so that you know they are happy and healthy. It's important that they are not aggressive, and are cat/dog/people friendly. The safety and welfare of your pet is my #1 priority. I do insist on a meet and greet prior to drop off to see if they are ok with this environment. This will help them get comfortable being here with you and I find this reduces their stress during drop off.
About: Started Rover since 2026. I have had dogs since I was a child and caring for them has always been a big part of my life. I am a working professional, and I’m also married to a professional dog groomer. I married her because I love her, of course — but it’s also wonderful that we share the same passion for dogs and can provide the best care for them together. My wife truly loves her work and is one of the most trusted groomers in Fairfax, Virginia. Many of her clients absolutely adore her and continue to return because of the care and attention she gives to every dog. We have a very cute little Toy Goldendoodle girl of our own, and whenever we have free time, we enjoy socializing her with other friendly dogs. That’s one of the reasons we decided to join Rover — we genuinely love spending time with dogs and creating a safe, happy environment for them. Your dog will be treated like family in our home. 🐾 Extended stays may incur higher rates because pets are bathed often before being allowed on our beds. We bathe and lightly groom our furry loved ones, including nail trims as needed, and these are included in the price for extended stays. Pet care fits very naturally into our daily routine. I work a structured professional schedule, which allows me to plan pet care consistently and responsibly. My wife is a professional dog groomer, so caring for dogs is truly part of our everyday life. We are home all day on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Due to our alternating schedules, one of us is also home on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday except for a few hours, and we make time every day for walks, playtime, and attention. Your dog will never feel ignored. We treat every dog like part of our family and ensure they receive supervision, affection, and proper care throughout their stay. We provide a safe, structured, and loving home environment where dogs receive constant supervision and personal attention. We limit the number of dogs we care for at one time to ensure quality care and safety. Our home is clean, secure, and pet-friendly with a fenced yard. We carefully manage introductions and monitor all interactions. With my wife’s professional grooming experience, we are skilled at understanding canine behavior and maintaining a calm, balanced environment.

Hazel had a great time! She was very kind, sent several updates and pictures throughout the day, and did a wonderful job handling Hazel’s energy level. Hazel seemed comfortable and happy with her, and I felt well-informed while she was in her care. I’d happily book with her again.

Our dog Summer has been having a great time in weekly doggie daycare with Katheryn (and her dog Phoebe). I definitely recommend Katheryn!

Mark and Mariette welcomed our girl into their home. We had a last minute booking and Mark was very responsive. Our lab didn’t settle easily as it was her first stay, and they made sure to give her special walks until she acclimated. She seemed to enjoy herself and their other guests were gentle and sweet doggies. They moved together as a pack through the house in the morning so it was evident that the dogs were all comfortable and welcome. Highly recommend and thank you!

We used to send our pup to a big daycare center. They did an okay job but we noticed that he would be much lighter at the pickup. So… here we were looking for a place he could feel more at ease. Aimee was extremely knowledgeable ( thank you for your guidance on his behaviors!), responsive and friendly. Poptart had an amazing day. He seemed happy and his normal self :) When we need someone to take care of our puppy, this will be it! Thanks so much again.

Ms. Lee was the BEST!! She welcomed me in as I passed along Jack’s food and items as well as share some of his quirky bossy behaviors over coffee, it was like chatting with a good friend! Thank you Lee for caring and loving my dog-baby as your own. I could tell he immediately loved you too, especially since you were playing catch with him right away. Looking forward to next time!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
