I work well with both lovebugs and cats who are unsure about strangers. I would love to connect and bring enjoyment into your cat's day while you are away, and I have answered to the needs of cats of all personalities. Could your cat be the President of Separation Anxiety Club? Is your cat afraid of almost all people, noises, and things? Does your cat need classical music on Alexa, have a CBD spray for their bed, or only drink water from a very specific cup in a very secret location? I've worked with all of the above. I've wiped dried snot from noses, administered oral and injected medication, converted hesitant felines into purring lap cats, created treasure hunts to slow down kibble scarfers, and so on. You will hear all about it in laborious detail, as well as the riveting daily chronicles of their litter box. Your cat will be safe and provided for, and hopefully also able to enjoy my company!

Prior to the first booking, I prefer to schedule a complimentary in-person consultation. It's a great way for me to take specific notes about their routine and for questions about their needs to get quick answers, to hand over keys if necessary, as well as to meet your cat for the first time while you are home. Cats are, most of the time, more comfortable with my drop-ins if they have met me beforehand.

I'm happy to engage with your cat and take lots of pictures. I let the cat dictate what happens and for how long, but I present them with opportunities. To offer playtime, I interact with their toys or treats. If they're on the snuggly side, I give them opportunities to safely and calmly approach me. Even to more aloof and independent cats, I will talk to them or offer a non-threatening human presence. I love to get to know a cat's individual personality and tailor my approach to them to better answer their needs. I have spoken Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, or French to my cat clients! (I am not fluent in the slightest, just able to manage important phrases).

Hi! I'm Cynthia, a catsitter in Fairfax with insurance and six years of paid experience on Rover. I specialize in cats (with the occasional small pet, rabbit, etc)! I currently provide drop-ins for my corner of NoVA. Jobs outside my radius are reviewed case-by-case (my repeat clients can disregard service radius warnings)! I've done thousands of cat drop-ins on Rover! I've also had cats for 25 years and have volunteered locally with Fancy Cats Rescue Team as a cage cleaner where I worked with homeless cats on a regular basis. I have made it my life mission to help and understand our feline friends! I'm a huge fan of Jackson Galaxy, and I love reading about feline body language, physiology, and nutrition.

Cynthia took great care of my cat while I was away. She is very thoughtful and attentive, and my cat got lots of playtime and cuddles with her. I could tell that my kitty was in excellent hands!
Cynthia did a wonderful job looking after my cat Darla 😊 She was attentive to details and communicated well. I felt more relaxed and able to enjoy my trip knowing that Darla was in such great hands. Darla was wearing a cone for part of the time we were away, and Cynthia did a great job with that aspect as well. Highly recommend!
