About: Pets have been a big part of my life, and I know the difference between a pet who is just being watched and one who is truly cared for. I currently share my home with a cat, so daily care is second nature to me: feeding on schedule, fresh water, clean litter boxes, and the small routines cats count on.Especially Anxious (i know when your gargoyle wants to lurk-and when the rubs are needed. I’ve had two dogs, and both taught me a lot. My first, Ed, was an 80-pound American Foxhound rescued as a suspected abandoned hunting dog who had never lived indoors. Together we worked through house training, leash manners (no more yanking), a fear of stairs (which involved carrying him up three flights until he stopped being scared), and a distaste for rain. His name was not what he was rescued with, but he was clearly always an Ed. With my second dog, Kovu, I spent a lot of time on socialization with other dogs and on keeping him calm and quiet when left alone. Because of that, I’m patient with nervous, rigid, big dogs, and dogs still learning the rules. I know that consistency and a calm presence go a long way. All Creatures Welcome! About: I have been taking care of pets for almost 6 years professionally and I have had dogs and cats my whole life. I worked in a boarding facility making sure every dog and cat received the proper food and medication. I can check in on pets any day of the week at anytime needed. For pets that have hourly or specific times needed for care, I can be there to help them out! I always want to put pet comfort first. About: The main reason I started rover is to give my dog some social time with other puppies as well as I figured I should put my love of animals to good use and help other owners watch over their fur babies with compassion and care. I had plans fall through with late notice and needed a few days of dog walks for my 7mo puppy who is going through his second fear phase. Plus, there wasn’t time to meet Kendall ahead of time, or even be there when she met him for the first time. She did an AWESOME job easing in with my pup and getting his trust so quickly, and the second day he was already excited waiting for her return. Teju Did a great job walking our 9 year old pup. It was nice for her to ask for a meet and greet prior to. She stayed in constant communication with us from the time we scheduled all the way until after they finished their walk. Teju showed up right on time and even offered to feed our Cooper.
