“Deitra and David helped take care of my senior dog in her last few weeks. I’m so thankful for their kindness and patience. If you’re looking for reliable and flexible help, you can trust their care. ❤️”
“Hailey is great. Super quick to respond, asks questions (doesn't assume), sweet with the dogs, provides detailed feedback. Looking forward to her watching our dogs for a long weekend.”

“Emily walked our dog Molly during the day for a week. I had a good impression of her from the beginning, she really seemed determined to make our shy dog Molly comfortable. She gave updates so I knew how Molly was doing and even sat with her when she was feeling scared. She did such a great job that we decided to put her into Emily's doggy daycare on a regular basis. Highly recommended.”

“Alex is a very responsible and pet loving person. He took very good care of my dog Adele when my husband and I were away, he even went further to help water my plants in which I appreciate so much. He always made Adele ate her food before he leaves, and he also tried to avoid other dogs while walking Adele since Adele is not friendly with other dogs. Alex was very meticulous, he will stand by water for Adele while walking her in a hot day and he will try walking Adele under the shade too . I feel so relieved to have Alex taking care of Adele while my husband and I are away for a week. I have no hesitation to recommend Alex to everybody here even my neighbors 😊Thank you Alex! 🐕🐕🐕🐕💕💕💕”

“Sarahi was incredible with my dog Eisley. My dog was immediately comfortable with her and was excited for walk time everyday. Would absolutely book her again and the only reason she is not helping any longer is because I am moving.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and have nearly 7 years of dog sitting experience starting in middle school. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities and I pride myself on being extremely attentive, reliable, and detail oriented with every pet. I have experience handling multiple dogs at once including caring for up to five dogs for 7+ days, so I’m very comfortable with both longer stays in higher-energy households. I treat every dog like my own and always make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I also provide consistent updates so you can feel confident and not ease while you’re away. I’m a student at Virginia Tech with a flexible schedule, typically having at most two classes a day. Outside of class, I spent most of my time at home, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, and care throughout the day. My routine makes it easy for me to incorporate walks, feeding, playtime, and check-in consistently. I’m able to adapt to each pets needs and schedule, whether that means early mornings, midday visits, or evening care. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a pet friendly apartment with a fence dog area, so dogs have a safe place to get outside and play. I’m very attentive and make sure pets are always supervised and cared for based on their specific needs and routines. I also keep owners updated regularly so you always know how your pet is doing.
“Daniel was fantastic with Jack! He was always on time and super reliable during the two weeks I was away. With Glenn working 6/10 shifts, Dan’s daily walks gave Jack a much-needed break and helped us out a lot. We’re really grateful for the care and consistency— we’ll definitely be using him again. Highly recommend!”

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was 15 years old for family members, friends, neighbors, people from church, work etc. I've also fostered puppies in the past and have volunteered walking senior dogs from the shelter. I have cared for dogs with medical issues - giving medication, helping recover from procedures, etc. I work from home so your pet will not spend any time alone. First thing in the morning I will let your pup out to the fenced in back yard so they can do any urgent business. Then we'll go for a walk around the block and/or a visit to the neighborhood dog park. Your dog will have unlimited opportunities to relieve themselves in the backyard throughout the day, and I always do at lease one mid-day walk/visit to the dog park. After work we'll go for another walk and be able to really play at the park for a little while (if you aren't comfortable with dog park visits we can stick to walks). We'll spend the evening playing and relaxing at home and then after dinner/before bed we'll do a final walk around the block. If your pup needs a bathroom break in the middle of the night they will be let out in the back yard. I am home most of the time on the weekends aside from a run, bike ride, trip to the grocery store, etc. I'll never be away from home more than 3 hours. I live in an end unit townhome with a fenced in yard (the fence is less than two years old with no gaps or damage). Your pup will have virtually unlimited access to the backyard to go to the bathroom or just relax outside. I do have one dog of my own, she is a 25lb rescue from Puerto Rico, she is extremely friendly and loves other dogs so your dog will have a buddy and won't be alone. There is also a dog park in my neighborhood and we go there at least twice a day (weather permitting, and only if you are comfortable with that). I am very active and get out for a walk at least 3 times a day. Dogs are people too so your pet will be able to sit on the couch and sleep on the bed if you are ok with that - I am happy to stick to any rules you implement at home.
About: I’ve been caring for animals over 20 years and am also a licensed veterinary technician. I’m comfortable with reinforcing training, giving medications, and caring for puppies/kittens to senior pets! I’m currently available for drop in visits in the morning and evening. I’d be happy to help care for your pet while you’re away from home! I am happy to follow instructions left by you for your pet while you’re away. Walks, playtime, or short training sessions. I’m also comfortable with administering medications and doing physical therapy exercises for your pet.

“Megan is an amazing dog walker for my dog Bowie! She is easy to get in touch with and has been super flexible with scheduling. I know Bowie looks forward to his weekly afternoon walks!!”

About: I always lead with patience and care. Animals are clear communicators and we just need to listen. I am medically trained (for humans primarily), but I know those skills and knowledge are highly transferable. I work primarily in a hospital. Even though my schedule is consistently changing, I have multiple days off during the week. This allows me to visit anytime throughout the days im off and leaves a lot of flexibility. Respect is key. Whether its for the pet or the home, I believe all things should be approached respectfully and mindfully. I am happy to follow whatever house rules or pet routines you may have.

“Anastasia was wonderful! We did an initial meet and greet and from the very beginning, she was great with communication. She was always timely for picking up our our, Barkley, and I think our dog really started looking forward to her coming! Thanks for everything!”

About: I have three dogs of my own, and plenty of experience walking and taking care of them! I’ve also pet sat/walked for others and am comfortable with all breeds and sizes as well as other animal types. Two of my pups are senior citizens, so I have experience with that as well! I’m currently an online college student, so most weekdays and weekdays work for me! I’m also available during most times of the day. While I don’t board pets in my own home, I do go to the clients home to check in on the animals! I’ve always made sure to be respectful of their space, make sure the pets are well taken care of, and lock up behind me.

I booked Emily to walk my dog once a day, for multiple days while I’m at work. She took time to come by for a meet and greet beforehand, asked questions about my dog’s routine, where he walks and talked about her process. You can tell she loves dogs! Oh, and she’s also super professional and sends a full report and pics after each walk. So glad I found her on here and have already booked her for more walks. Thank you, Emily!

My family was very happh with Ji Ung and Hyunjoo taking care of our dog Toast :) They were very nice from the moment we met them and we werr able to explain both on the website as well as inperson any comments or extra details about what Toast might need. They would even send us a couple of videos here and there of him eating or playing which reassured us how well he was taken care of. Thank you both again for taking care of him so well!

She was so kind and such a joy to meet! We feel really good about trusting her with our dog and home! Right away she connected with our doberman and you can tell she has a lot of knowledge and experience! We are looking forward to working with her for walks and out of town stays!

Ingrid is an excellent dog walker! She has taken care of our puppy very well on each and every walk and has provided us detailed information on how she is doing, especially while recovering from illness. We recommend her service to anyone who needs closer care, love and attention to their pets!

We booked another service with Paige for several days and she took the absolute best care of our pup! She provided consistent updates, was on time for each visit, and followed his daily routine without difficulty. We were traveling for holidays, so our minds were even more at ease knowing our pup was happy and well taken care of. I would highly recommend booking with Paige!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Yorkshire. On Rover:
- 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
