About: I love animals, especially dogs, and spend a lot of my free time volunteering at local shelters. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and disabilities. Currently I am caring for two dogs with disabilities long term: and elderly French Bulldog with partial paralysis, and a young pittie mix with three legs due to a car accident. These dogs require equal amounts of patience and love when being cared for, as well as extra attention and physical aid with mobility (ex. going up and down stairs) I'm someone who genuinely loves animals, and would do this for free if everything wasn't so expensive now. I will take the time to socialize and get to know your pet so they are comfortable, relaxed, and overjoyed when I arrive. I also have a medical background which makes me very comfortable dealing with pet medications and special needs. I currently work part time with a flexible schedule. This allows me to plan around my clients schedules and ensure I am free to care for your pet almost any day and time. I take care of two disabled dogs full time, they require extra care and attention but you can expect that same level from me when I care for any pet. You can expect me to tailor the experience to your specific doggos needs, to socialize and play with them, and to make sure they're always overjoyed when I stop by. I have good attention to detail and a medical background which allows me to handle any special needs or routines your pet has.

About: I have owner a variety of animals from fish and rodents to three large dogs at once ( 2 huskies and aGerman Shepherd ) . I have also used rover formally to dogsit and walk many sizes and temperaments of dogs. I currently volunteer at the shelter to take dogs out of the kennel for the day and actively pet sit dogs and cats of friends. I have experience working with puppies after raising my German shepherd and another set of four puppies until adoption. I have also worked with senior dogs with dietary restrictions and medication. I am self-employed and an online student at the moment and have more free time that can be flexibly managed. I spend extra hours taking my friends pets on walks or spending time with them while doing work at home. I love to go on walks as I used to own two large and active dogs ! In-house sitting would mean respect for the clients home and their belongings. I also understand that the home is the safe space of the pet and should be treated with care. My priority is the comfort and care of the animal during the time their owners are gone to make sure they are well taken care of and enjoying their time :)!

About: Hello Pet Owners! My name is Nikki and I grew up with many different pets throughout my life. I love all kinds of animals and I’ve been around various amounts of dog breeds. I have much experience walking/dog-sitting and am able to give your pets the love and care they need! I used to have an epileptic dog for many years so I have much experience handling situations of that sort. I am very detail oriented and will pay special close attention to your pup’s needs. Dogs bring me the greatest joy and I would love to take care of yours! Cats are always welcome as well! (I have 1 myself) I work full time as a lead transportation security officer at Dulles Airport and I love to take care of animals in my free time. I graduated with a bachelors in criminology at George Mason, and my dream is to work with the k9s one day. Feel free to book me! I work full time at Dulles airport but in my free time I love to take care of fur babies! My days off are Tuesday/Wednesday. During days I work I’m able to help before/after work. I have a three bedroom spacious apartment with 2 roommates who love animals as well. We all like to help out and your pet will never be left alone. We also have a cat named Benji but he loves to be around all animals!

Additionally, I have taken care of friends’ dogs while they are out of town by feeding, walking, and playing with them! Your pet will be cared for like my own, and rest assured they will be loved, content, fed, and safe while you are gone! I am available for last-minute holiday visits! I’m currently a full time student and work a part time job as an intern at FCPS. I am fully available during the summer! Please message me, I am very flexible! I can assure you your dogs will stay active, fed, groomed, and cared for in every way! As far as cats I have one at home so I will adjust to the cats’ personality by giving them space if need be. My family was very happh with Ji Ung and Hyunjoo taking care of our dog Toast :) They were very nice from the moment we met them and we werr able to explain both on the website as well as inperson any comments or extra details about what Toast might need. They would even send us a couple of videos here and there of him eating or playing which reassured us how well he was taken care of. Thank you both again for taking care of him so well!

About: Hi, I'm Rylee! I’ve taken care of dogs of all kinds, including my own. I have a naturally calm and chill demeanor, which I've found really helps dogs feel safe and relaxed around me. I actually have a reactive dog at home, so I have a ton of everyday experience reading dog body language, handling leash walks safely, and just being patient. Because of my dog, I exclusively offer house sitting, drop-ins, and walks at your house—that way, your pet gets to stay stress-free in their own familiar space. I also play soccer, so I'm active, super reliable, and always punctual. Whether you have a high-energy puppy or a senior dog who just wants to hang out on the couch, your pet deserves all the love while you aren't home, and I’d be so happy to hang out with them! Pet care fits really easily into my current schedule. I have a lot of flexibility during the week to match up with your busy days, and I'm totally available for weekend walks! Since I'm used to balancing soccer and everyday life, I'm really good at managing my time—meaning you can always count on me to show up on time and be there exactly when your dog needs me. Since I exclusively offer care in your home, my main goal is to keep your dog's routine exactly how they are used to! When we're out on walks, my experience with my own reactive dog means I'm always paying attention to our surroundings, avoiding surprises, and keeping leash safety a priority so we can just have fun and get some good exercise. Inside, I'm super respectful of your space and will follow all your feeding, training, and house rules to the letter. I just want you to have total peace of mind that your home is secure and your dog is safe, happy, and chilling out.

About: I have four dogs myself and I’ve worked at the Dogs Downtown Boarding/Training facility for 2 years now. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, of all personalities, puppy house/crate training, and dogs with special needs (including allergies). I know how to administer medication and emergency care, upkeep with training, and of course, giving them all the loving and play while you’re away as if they were my own. When I’m not working at the kennel your pups will have me all to themselves. I can even check on them before/after my shifts and on my 1 hour break if you’d like. I have experience with dogs of kinds of medical conditions, I’m trained in emergency protocols and I have experience administering medication. Of course, when I’m in your home my first priority will be their safety and comfort. That means making sure they’re getting all the loving and play and attention they’re craving while you’re away. When I’m in your home I won’t be staring at my phone or preoccupied with other things, I want to give my 100% to your pet because they deserve to feel like the priority, especially when they’re missing their family.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for multiple pets, including two dogs and two cats in my household. I was responsible for their daily care while my parents were at work, which included feeding, supervision, playtime, and making sure they felt safe and comfortable. I’ve cared for both small and large breeds, including a Chihuahua and a German Shepherd, and have experience raising them from a young age. Both of my dogs had anxiety, so I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and providing a calm, loving environment. I’m comfortable handling multiple pets at once and making sure each one gets the attention they need. I also have experience with basic training such as sit, stay, and reinforcing good behavior. I currently live with a friendly and calm dog named Penny, and my home provides a safe, welcoming space where dogs can relax, play, and feel at ease. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of time to provide attentive and reliable care for your pets. I’m available on weekend mornings and weekdays after 2 PM. On Sundays and Wednesdays, I have more flexible availability and can also accommodate morning requests. I’m happy to work with your schedule to make sure your pet is well cared for! I have a comfortable home with a fenced yard where your dog will have plenty of space to run, play, and relax. I also have a sweet, older dog named Penny who loves friendly company and can be a great companion for your pup! If needed, I’m happy to crate your dog as well—just let me know your preferences so I can make them feel right at home.

I am currently working from home, so I am very flexible and have the time to play and take them out from the comfort of my own home. Note: I only take one family’s dog(s) at a time ☺️ I have a safe neighborhood where I can take them on a good walk and play with as well. I have a backyard and deck where they can enjoy the weather too.

She walked our dogs while we were traveling and took them for long walks, gave them each specific medications, and alerted us when there was weather that could stress the dogs. • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
