Our cat lived to be 17—he loved being held like a baby, joined us at the dinner table, and never turned down cuddles. Later, I had a Golden Retriever/Husky mix named Bella, who was by my side for 10 wonderful years. She welcomed both of my daughters home from the hospital, and she’s still a big part of our family’s memories.
