“LaurieBeth did an amazing job with my two 20-pound dogs. Her care was only exceeded by her communication through Rover. I was incredibly lucky to find a caregiver like LaurieBeth on short notice. I was able to relax and enjoy a last-minute trip. I did not worry about my pups once. They were in great hands. I would hire LaurieBeth and plan to!”

“Jake did a great job watching my 2 cats for 4 days while my wife and I were out of town! He made sure they were fed, had fresh water, and cleaned their litter box every day. On top of that he sent adorable pics after each visit. I would definitely book Jake again, and I would recommend anyone to hire him for pet services! Thank you, Jake!”

“Kristen is incredible! She takes such good care of the pups, is always responsive, and leaves a great impression on the pups every time she visits. We will absolutely be booking with Kristen in the future.”

“Alan was requested last min. and was still able to accommodate my crazy last min planning. My Nola, is a medium size 8month old pitty. She's stuborn, yet sweet as can be, she feels intittled to belly rubs especially from new faces. Nola, tends to get annoyingly over excited with all new faces. She still has a leash pulling and jumping matter we are adressing in her dog academy training, non of those annoyances seemed to phase Alan one bit. He even came the same day I requested his services to meet Nola (all very last min.). I appreciate his flexibility, time managment, and most importantly communication curiosity (quick response time). I'm a single mother of an autistic little ball of 10yr old hyper sunshine 🌞 ... aswell as a full time Private Care for elderly and sick. Both work and personal life are very demanding. My son has been coming to work with me all last and this summer break. Alan made our summer end better with his services! I was finally able to take my son to Hershey Park, tickets which ive had since April. Bless you Alan! #dogsaver #worththebooking #verypleased #bookagainsoon”

I started taking care of my birds back in 3rd grade, and as I got older, I became the go-to person in my neighborhood for watching everyone’s dogs and cats. Caring for animals is truly second nature to me I understand their needs, moods, and how much love and attention they deserve. Now that I have a cat of my own, I completely understand the worries that come with leaving your pet in someone else’s care. That’s why I treat every fur (or feathered!) baby like my own with patience, warmth, and plenty of cuddles. You can always count on me to make sure your pets feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I currently work part-time, so I have plenty of time to focus on your fur babies! 🐾 I’m available anytime after 3–4 PM on weekdays and most weekends, except Tuesdays when I have college classes. take safety seriously from double-checking doors and leashes to keeping routines consistent. “Keila did such a wonderful job with our 95 lb jumpy/excited boxer the first time she watched him, we immediately booked her again for our next longer trip (10 days!) and am so glad we did. We felt really comfortable with her already, but every visit she did she sent photos and typically added funny notes and that made it even better. She spent a lot of time with him for drop ins and clearly gave him plenty of exercise. We will reach out to Keila and pray she’s available for all our future needs! Highly recommend.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have always loved caring for animals of all sizes and personalities. I have experience with feeding, walking, playing, giving attention, and keeping pets comfortable while their owners are away. I have also owned cats in the past and have experience cat sitting as well. I treat every pet like they are my own and understand how important it is to have someone reliable, patient, and caring looking after your furry family member. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I enjoy keeping pets active, comfortable, and on their normal routine while you’re away. I live in a comfortable bottom-floor apartment with easy access to walking trails and a nearby dog park that my own dog and I enjoy daily. I have one large, friendly dog who loves having new companions. While my yard is not fenced, I always prioritize safety with supervised outdoor time, secure leashes, and plenty of exercise through walks and play. I treat every pet as part of my routine and make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and at home.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have been caring for dogs of all ages for over 12 years. I’ve always been passionate about animal care, especially dogs and cats, and have spent years learning about animal behavior. I previously had a Labrador named Remy, who was a beloved family dog. With him, I gained hands-on experience in obedience training and trick training. I’ve also assisted with service dog training, which strengthened my understanding of structure, consistency, and behavior shaping. My current dog is Rio, a Golden Retriever and my service dog. Caring for and training him has continued to deepen my experience and commitment to positive, reliable care. I offer drop-in visits, sitting, boarding, and walking/hiking services. I’m also comfortable administering medication for senior dogs and supporting a wide range of care needs. My goal is always to provide safe, attentive, and loving care so pets feel comfortable and happy while their owners are away. I am currently petsitting full time so your furry friend will have my undivided attention. We’ll start with a potty break, breakfast if needed, and some playtime or a walk. Throughout the day, there are plenty of potty breaks, supervised play, cuddle time, and lots of attention. In the evening, we’ll enjoy another walk or play session, dinner, and some relaxing time before bed. I have a fully fenced in yard and I live in a super walkable area for lots of enrichment walks. Pups are welcome on all furniture and I have a big supply of lick mats, puzzle toys, and flirt poles to occupy them during the day. I’m happy to crate your pup if needed.
“Paige was great. She sent good feedback about how our little one was doing while we were gone. She spent time with her and sent some great photos. We would highly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter.”

“Abby took wonderful care of my cat, in every way; both kind and reliable - highly recommend her!! I instantly felt at ease with her when leaving my newly-adopted older kitty for the first time, which made traveling less worrisome for me. She stayed in great communication with me and even helped to secure my cat when apartment maintenance needed to enter my place. I’m grateful to her, and we look forward to working with her again.”

About: After growing up with a minimum of three dogs in my family I have come to realize that dogs are one of the greatest joys in life! I’ve been dog sitting for friends and family for over 20 years and I have a 7 year old pup of my own named Rocket! Prior to Rocket I had a pup named Bender for 16 years before he crossed the rainbow bridge. I love all animals but dogs really do make the world a brighter, sweeter and more cuddly place. I’m comfortable with dogs from puppy age to senior though I do generally refer to all dogs as puppies! I’m currently working part time and have availability on the mornings and afternoons, Monday through Friday and can be available on weekends if needed. My roommate and I both have dogs so catering for pets in our home is not an option but I am able to house sit overnight in the client’s home.
“Nikki was great! She was able to stop by fairly last minute to let our dog out for a short walk. She was also kind enough to come over for a short meet-and-greet beforehand so that our dog would be familiar with her. If another time comes where we need a drop-in sitter, we’ll absolutely be using Nikki again!”
About: Hello! My name is Lauryn, and I can't wait to meet your fuzzy friends. I have cared for dogs both personally and professionally since I was 12 years old. I currently live with my rescue pitbull/terrier mix who I love more than anything. I'm comfortable taking dogs for long and varied walks, as well as providing at home enrichment and care. I believe all pets deserve love exactly the way they are, and no friend is too "difficult" to deserve love. I know pet care requires great trust, and I won't take that lightly. Thank you for getting to know a little bit about me, and I hope to get to know more about your pet soon! I am a teacher, so I have lots of summer availability. I can offer daily and nightly house visits, walks and care. I also accept same day bookings. If you select me to help take care of your loved ones in your home, I promise to treat your space and your pet(s) with the same respect I treat my classroom and home. I prioritize cleanliness, organization and attentiveness while in others homes and while caring for their fuzzy friends.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Herndon
Katherine is a compassionate and conscientious sitter. My two dogs love seeing her and trust her. She makes an extra effort to follow instructions and to inquire with us if there are any concerns about the dogs. We have older dogs, and I had left a note about certain issues she might observe with one of the dogs. During visits, she attended to my dog with great care and monitored him closely to make sure he was fine before leaving from visits. She provides exceptional care, and we highly recommend her.

Carolyn went above and beyond helping us with our dog. We needed someone 3x/day due to his many health conditions. He had just started new medicine for congestive failure and I was very nervous about leaving him. Carolyn stayed longer than requested and filled me in regularly so I wouldn’t worry. I highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
