“Paige is so wonderful with our cats and we are lucky to have her take care of them. She's conscientious and sends such adorable pictures of them. I highly recommend her if you need a pet sitter.”

“Rasha took great care of our pets as usual. She’s so responsive and always lets us know how our pets are doing while we’re away. Our dog gets so excited when she sees Rasha, so I know that she gives extra care and attention.”

“Marti was truly outstanding with our pup! From the very first visit, she was thoughtful, attentive, and incredibly communicative. She made sure he was well cared for through multiple walks each day—even working around storms and hot weather to make sure he was comfortable and safe. She gave us regular, detailed updates, complete with sweet observations about his mood, habits, and how he was doing while we were away. Our dog can be a bit particular, but Marti clearly understood him and made sure he got just the right balance of activity, affection, and quiet time. She even noticed when he was a little more anxious and made sure to help him walk it off and settle with his favorite kong. We came home to a happy pup, and we felt at ease knowing he was in such good hands. We'd absolutely recommend Marti to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and communicative caregiver. She's the best!”

“I had to travel into town with my dog and it was going to be long work days. I was relieved to find Rachael and meet her — knowing my dog would be well cared for! Highly recommended her to others!”

“First time using Rover, and Olga was amazing! Frequently kept me updated on Coopers status, including plenty of pics. Had the schedule this last minute and on Thanksgiving Day, and Olga was more than happy to help. Will definitely use her again in the future, and highly recommend.”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets since Middle School! In addition to having many family pets over the years, I have had the opportunity to care for a variety of animals and have had many regulars. I treat each pet as if it’s my own and I take pet care very seriously since I also have my own and understand the importance of the care provided. I have worked with dogs and cats of all ages and breeds. I have worked with many rescues, large breeds, and many anxiety-ridden dogs. I have administered meds and dealt with heartworm with my rescue. I have had experience w/many special needs & seniors as well. I am currently working full time. This schedule is Tuesday-Friday. Weekday evenings after 5pm are available and Sat, Sun, and Monday are all flexible time-wise I currently have my own dogs so I would not bring animals here. I will treat each client’s home as they prefer and I’m very adept at adapting to different routines and environments.
“Lindsey did a great job, taking care of our dog and cats! We contacted her on short notice and she came and did a meet and greet and understood what we needed done. When we arrived home we had a happy pup, who had received his meditations, and cats who didn’t care that we left or came home.😂”

“Alexandra was great with my pups! She did an amazing job! My skittish pup Luna who barks at strangers didn’t bark at Alexandra at the meet and greet, so I knew it was a good fit! I’d definitely have Alexandra take care of the pups next time I go out of town!”

“Ashley has been so good to Dozer. She is his weekly companion for lunch time walks. She is quick to respond and communicates when she has a scheduling conflict. We have enjoyed Dozer's pics for every walk. Thank you Ashley!”

About: Hi everyone! My name is Courtney, and I’ve lived in Northern Virginia for many years. I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life and have always had a passion for caring for animals. My experience includes caring for family pets, pet sitting throughout middle and high school, volunteering with animal rescue organizations, fostering dogs and puppies, working as a doggy daycare attendant, and working as a dog bather at a pet resort. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and personalities, so I’m comfortable adapting to each pet’s unique needs. I was also a Rover sitter a few years ago before my account became inactive, so I’m excited to be back! I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I treat every pet like my own. My goal is to provide dependable, loving care while keeping your pet happy, comfortable, and safe in their own home. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! A quick note: I have a wonderful 4-year-old son who may accompany me during house-sitting stays. He has been around dogs his entire life and is very gentle, respectful, and understands how to interact with animals appropriately. He’s never had any issues with dogs and knows to always respect their space and follow my guidance. Of course, I’ll only accept bookings where clients are comfortable with this arrangement, and your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my top priority. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give your pet plenty of attention throughout the day. I work around their routine to ensure they receive consistent care, exercise, companionship, and lots of love while you’re away. My goal is to keep their day as normal and stress-free as possible. When caring for pets in your home, I do my best to keep them on their normal routine so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I’ll follow your instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and any special care your pet needs. I’ll also make sure your home is respected and kept clean, bring in mail or packages if requested, water plants, and provide regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
“I’ve never used Rover before and was very nervous, but Sarina really helped put my mind at ease! She was so sweet with our puppy Daniel, and I can tell she truly has a passion for animals and wants to give them the best care. I absolutely loved all the pictures and info i she gave on the report card - it really made my day. We’ll definitely be using Sarina’s services again.”

“Alexis did a fantastic job of caring for our cat while we were away, even when thet meant going on a scavenver hunt trying to find where in thr house she was hiding! We appreciate the awesome care Alexis provided our cat (and our plants!) and will continue to use her whenever we're out of town!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs in my family of all shapes and sizes for years. I love animals and would care for yours as my own! I am currently a student at JMU, studying biology with a minor in pre veterinary sciences! I am on winter break right now and am totally free for the next month! I am strong and athletic, so while walking dogs I would be a good candidate. I also love to play with dogs so if i’m just dropping in I will have fun with them!
About: I’ve always had a dog as a part of my life growing up ever since I was 6. In more recent years, I was the co-pet parent of a dog for roughly 3 years, and I’d like to think he turned out pretty well. I have some decent knowledge and experience when it comes to handling and training dogs, namely by encouraging desired behaviors through positive reinforcement. While my experience may not be the most comprehensive, I’d like to think I more than make up for it with my love for dogs! Some day I’d love to have one of my own, but with my current life schedule and commitments, it’s just not in the cards for me. I’ve recently had the privilege of dipping my toes into fostering pups, which has taught me a lot about caring for a dog by myself. In the meantime, I’m perfectly content walking, caring for, and loving your dog just as if it was my own! I currently work full time 9-5 (generally) M-F, but I do have periods of flexibility when I can come walk/pet sit during the day. I’m also able to take some days of the week remote. I do have some after work commitments during the week days, but they’re relatively minimal, flexible, and I’m willing to work with you to find out what works best for you, me, and your pup! I have a fairly good understanding of dog body language and mannerisms and will, under no circumstances, put your dog in any position of discomfort in your home or on our walks. I will be sure to give your dog plenty of attention and playtime, but not to the extent that the dog feels uncomfortable or threatened by me. When it comes to walks, your dog is the boss-it’s their time to sniff, exercise, and do their business while I’m just along to chaperone them. That being said, I’ll make sure to avoid any altercations with other dogs or people by limiting those interactions on walks.
“Jessica is an absolutely wonderful dog sitter, she’s super helpful with being flexible around my weird work schedule and Jacks always seems to be in a great mood after a visit from her.”

“Jillian is amazing!! She’s watched our two fur babies multiple times and they adore her!! She’s incredibly responsive and treats your babies as if they’re her own. She also does a great job keeping you up to date with pictures and texts throughout her time!!”

“Great loving family, love working with them and highly recommend! We needed someone to walk our foster dog, Natalie and her husband came to the rescue ! She’s now all ready for a loving home.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
