“Tatiana is the best. She takes such good care of my sweet girl and sends lots of pics and videos too. My pup gets social time with other dogs and a cat and she is great to work with. Great communication!”

“Harlow had a fantastic time with Katie and her family! She was well cared for, I received pictures and updates regularly and I would leave Harlow with them anytime! Wonderful experience for both of us.”

“Fen received the best care while staying with Jennifer, her family, and their pupper Henry. Jennifer provided photos and updates throughout the weekend and always responded within minutes to my messages. Would love to have her care for our Fen again anytime!”

“Highly Recommended! I couldn't be happier with the care Barfie received! Nalleli did an incredible job socializing him and kept me updated with daily photos and videos, which I truly appreciated. It was so clear he was happy, well-exercised, and loved—I'll definitely be booking again!”

“Ali was wonderful with Penny, we received daily photos and communication for two weeks. Penny felt right at home, she looked happy, relaxed and well taken care of. Penny came home bathed and with a a sweet note and new toy. We have found Penny’s home away from home and will be rebooking soon. Highly recommend Ali to take care of your fur babies.”

About: I have taken care of animals my whole life ! I have had multiple cats and dogs and my grandparents owned a dog boarding kennel, so I have lots of experience with many different dog breeds. I am a single mom and healthcare worker with a flexible schedule! I work locally and love to be outdoors and active with the kids and pets :) I be sure to follow all safety and health protocols. I work in the medical field and I pay great attention to detail. I am super responsible.
“I can't say enough good things about Karen! From the start she was so responsive and answered all my questions about her approach. I was really nervous as I was headed out of the country for over a week and my dog can be very finicky and shy in new places. She let me know how he was settling in with her and the other dogs she was watching, and gave updates and photos at least once a day. My dog often refuses to eat when stressed, but at Karen's he was happily eating his meals from the start, which for me was the biggest sign he was feeling good. He spent the rest of the trip snuggling next to her and bringing her toys so they could play. I love that she only takes small dogs and is very mindful of making sure they are all coexisting peacefully, including always separating each dog at meal time. I will definitely be using Karen again!”

“Sophia is a very good dog sitter, she knows how to make them happy. My beagle has never been boarded before but I left him with Sophia on our family camping weekend with some worries. But Sophia kept sending the pics of my dog to ensure that he was in a good hand. Great jobs!!! ”

“Marley enjoyed his stay at William’s and loved playing with his dog Maui. William updated us often with reports and fun pictures. Marley even “helped” rake leaves with William. We look forward to the next time he can stay with William.”

“Just picked up Del from Andrew & his family - Del had a wonderful stay, and I felt very comfortable leaving him there and clearly both Del and Andrew & family got along so great! I am delighted with this connection and will gladly make more arrangements. Very attentive, friendly, interactive and responsible care, highly recommend! Many thanks Andrew and family!”

“Jean was awesome as a dogsitter. He took good care of my Golden. He sent pictures and videos, and walked her daily. Most of all he was friendly and wide open to any request that I had on how to take care of her. I will definitely be bringing my dog back in the future. I feel like we finally have a go-to for a sitter.”

“Leslie is simply the best. She provides top quality care for our sweet pup. She stays in communication with us and sends updates during our dog’s stay as needed. Her knowledge of small dogs and their unique needs is an added bonus. We couldn’t ask for a better dog sitter.”

“Deborah is truly outstanding — we highly recommend her! She cared for our beloved dog Bodie for nearly two weeks while our home was on the market, and she made the entire process stress‑free. Deborah kept us updated every day on how Bodie was doing and how he was adjusting. She is accessible, responsive, professional, and genuinely caring. She’s incredibly easy to work with, and we will absolutely use her again the next time we need pet‑sitting support.”

About: I've had a dog in my home my entire life, and am always the one my friends/family turn to if they need someone to look after their pets. I have also fostered multiple dogs with leash reactivity, and have had some 1-1 work with an R+ (positive reinforcement) trainer to ensure pups can have the best experience out and about in the world while still getting their sniffs and exercise in. I occasionally run outside so I can offer to run with your pup(s) 1-2 times a week if you'd like, and I live 5 minutes away from Baron Cameron park if you like for them to play with other pups during the day at a dog park as well. Or of course we can just snuggle most of the day while I work from home. Well either way there will be lots of snuggles and pets... My last dog passed away in 2025 after a year long battle with cancer, so I have no problem giving medicine and making sure we stay on a strict schedule with food/medicine if that is what your dog needs. I look forward to becoming your pup's new best friend! I work part-time from home. I'm available for day-sitting while you're at work or overnight boarding when you're out of town. I'm typically up by 7:30, have a fenced in backyard, go on walks/runs throughout the day and love going to the dog park if your pup enjoys it! I have a 6 foot fence in my backyard that your pup can play around in. Take 2-3 x 25 minute walks around the neighborhood throughout the day and can occasionally go for 30-60 minute jogs if your pup enjoys more exercise (1-2/week)
“As always Penny received the best care with Juli! She has a great set-up in her house and fenced in yard that is similar to what Penny is used to so she feels right at home.”

I would definitely recommend Brianna. She was very responsive and compassionate in wanting to make sure Prince was comfortable during his stay. My flight was canceled and we had to adjust my pickup time and Brianna was very understanding. I truly appreciated her care and thoughtfulness.

Zach and his family have been so helpful to us over the last few months! He is so great with our dogs and they have enjoyed his mid-day walks. We also have used Zach to watch the dogs at our house over longer trips and he always leaves the house cleaner than when he arrived! Highly recommend!

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
