About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is my calm, patient, and gentle approach to each dog. I pay close attention to their body language, needs, and comfort. I'm especially good with puppies who need gentle guidance and basic training, as well as with older dogs who require more leisurely walks, extra care, and a loving, comforting presence. I treat every pet as if it were my own, with the same kindness, respect, and affection I would want for my own. I recently moved and have free time since I have online classes during the week on alternate schedules, so I have time to play with your little ones and shower them with warmth and attention. Within my family, three of them are a furry friend named Balu who is 7 years old, a cat named Copito who is 6 years old, and a kitten named Lucas who is 5 years old. I am used to taking care of them and keeping them under constant supervision, not only in their diet but also in their physical and emotional well-being.
“Mocha is a regular client of LaurieBeth's since we adopted her a few months ago. Mocha is always so excited to spend the day with her and gets lots of affection and exercise. I am also super appreciative of LaurieBeth because Mocha is working on her obedience training and LaurieBeth didn't hesitate to help us reinforce the behaviors. So grateful!”

About: I have been caring for animals since 2018 and have experience working at multiple dog boarding facilities. At one facility, I worked for over six years, where I cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. My experience includes feeding, cleaning, supervising playtime, and ensuring dogs feel safe and comfortable in a structured environment. I also have personal experience caring for senior dogs, which has helped me develop patience and attentiveness to animals with special needs. In addition to dogs, I have experience caring for rabbits, guinea pigs, and parakeets, and I understand the importance of providing gentle, calm care for small animals. My schedule is flexible, and I am currently available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and small animal care throughout the week. I am available during weekdays and have limited availability on weekends. I do my best to accommodate each client’s schedule and provide consistent, reliable care. I keep my schedule organized to ensure every animal receives the time and attention they deserve. The safety and well-being of every animal in my care is my top priority. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, behavior, and needs to ensure they feel comfortable and secure. I provide a calm, quiet environment and always supervise animals closely during my care. I am attentive to details such as feeding instructions, medications (if needed), and safe handling. I also make sure pets are kept in a clean, secure space and follow any specific instructions provided by their owner. My goal is to create a stress-free experience where both pets and owners feel confident and at ease.
About: I have over six years of experience providing dedicated care for dogs and one year with cats, specializing in everything from overnight house sitting to daily visits for walks, meals, and playtime. As a full-time pet care professional, I easily manage multi-pet households and design balanced routines tailored to each animal's needs. I have extensive experience supporting both high-energy puppies who need basic training reinforcement and senior pets requiring extra patience, gentle pacing, and medication administration. I am incredibly detail-oriented, remain completely calm under pressure, and prioritize consistent communication by sending regular text, photo, and video updates. At home, I have a friendly one-year-old Chihuahua mix who loves welcoming new dog companions. While I dedicate my own mornings, middays, and evenings to your animals, I am personally occupied on weekends between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM. During this brief window, my wife will step in to care for the pets, ensuring your animals are never left unattended and receive uninterrupted, reliable attention. I am genuinely passionate about animals—the kind of person who always stops to greet a dog on the sidewalk—and we will treat your pets with the absolute love, safety, and respect they deserve as members of the family. Pet care is the central focus of my daily schedule. Because I have a highly flexible routine, I am able to provide consistent supervision, frequent potty breaks, and structured play sessions throughout the day. My mornings start with fresh water, feeding, and an initial stretching walk, followed by regular check-ins and companionship every few hours and an evening walk. On weekends, I dedicate extra time to longer walks, outdoor play, ensuring every guest feels safe, engaged, and fully integrated into a stable daily flow. I treat every pet as if they were a member of my own family. Safety and comfort are my top priorities, so I closely follow any specific feeding schedules, house rules, and instructions you provide. My goal is to maintain your pet's normal routine to minimize any separation anxiety. I provide constant companionship, keep a watchful eye during play, and give plenty of individual attention, affection, and belly rubs so they feel completely safe and loved while you are away.
“I had a great experience! Kaylyn and Naman accommodated my last minute booking and took great care of my dogs. I’ll definitely be booking with them in the future!”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for 3 years, and I truly love what I do! I’ve cared for playful puppies, laid-back adults, and sweet senior pets, making sure each one gets the attention and care they need. Whether it’s walks, feeding, playtime, or just extra cuddles, I aim to make every pet feel relaxed and loved while their humans are gone. I am available most times Monday through Friday and can accommodate Saturday and/or Sunday and holidays with at least a weeks advance notice. I currently have a medium sized doodle and follow a routine of 2-3 walks per day, 1-2 potty and play breaks. I have a big yard with a long leash. Additionally I have a small portion of the yard that is fenced in for playtime. Dogs are allowed in my living room area.
“Ana is very kind and flexible with her schedule. She was able to watch my puppy last minute and he had the best time. He always comes back tired from all the fun! He loves playing with her dog Pluto and she is very easy to get ahold of. I always trust my puppy to have a great time. Super thankful to have found someone near me who provides a safe and fun place for my puppy to be during the day.”

“Phil and Amanda are amazing. Our two pugs can be skittish around other dogs and Phil and Amanda paired them with the perfect duo to help them get more comfortable. They took them on numerous walks and even let them snuggle in bed on an early morning drop off. I can’t recommend them more and I’ll use them again when we come to town.”

“Daphne took great care of Joey. She is super friendly, easy to communicate with and very attentive to Joey’s needs / behaviour. We will definitely be booking again! Thank you 😊”

“Bugra absolutely loved my dog and took such great care of her! It was such a relief since this was my first time using Rover. He sent pics and updates throughout the day and is great at communicating. I will definitely use him again. Highly recommend.”

About: I have been caring for my pup Murdoc since he was two months. I understand that some days there just isn’t enough time to treat our friends like the amazing pets they are. We wish we could bring them everywhere we go but when we can’t its important to leave them with someone who knows to treat them with gentle hands, love, and patience. I’ll take care of the walks and check-ins so you can come home to a happy, relaxed and loving pal. I also do overnight stays, and depending on the day I am available most weekdays and all weekends. For check-ins and walks my hours are much more flexible. Please check my availability prior to booking, as I update it every week. I am looking forward to meeting your best friend :)! I am currently a part time student, which gives me a lot of free time on weekends and weekdays. I aim to update my calendar as frequently as possible, and I am open to same day bookings unless indicated on the calendar. When house sitting, I follow instructions given my the pet owners in regards to pet schedules, feedings and home safety. Oftentimes, owners with more spacious yards prefer their dog play and potty there instead of going on walks. In those instances, I usually let the dog roam around and potty first, and if they want to play afterwards then I try to tire them out with some games before going back in. Either way, I don’t like to leave them in the yard alone in case of anything, even with fenced. I also do let all house sitting clients know that I cannot be in the home the entire stay. Rest assured they will not be alone for long, but I may occasionally step out to run errands or other drop ins. If there is a special way to enter or leave the house like if you’d prefer I enter through the garage, just let me know! As for package deliveries, whatever arrives during my stay will usually be placed inside by the front door. You can let me know if you prefer I don’t move them at all.
About: I have over 20 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments. Over the past 7 years, I’ve also volunteered with rescue organizations, fostering puppies as young as 1–2 weeks old. This has involved full-time care- feeding, socialization, basic training, and monitoring their health - until they are ready for their forever homes. Because I’ve cared for so many dogs at different stages of life, I’m very attentive to routines, diet needs, medical instructions, and behavior changes. I’m calm, patient, and confident handling shy, energetic, or anxious dogs, and I make sure each pet feels secure and comfortable from the moment they arrive. Safety and communication are extremely important to me. I follow owners’ instructions closely, maintain a clean and structured environment, and provide regular updates so you always know how your dog is doing. Whether it's a puppy, an adult dog, or a senior with special needs, I’m committed to giving every animal the same level of care and consistency I give my own. My wife (a full-time homemaker) and I ensure that your furry family member is never left alone while staying with us. One of us is always home, providing constant supervision, comfort, and companionship throughout their visit. Your dog will enjoy a fully fenced, secure play area and 2–3 walks per day. We live on 2 acres of land with plenty of open space for safe exploration and exercise, along with an 11,000 sq. ft. home that provides ample room for your pet to relax and feel comfortable.
“Akshata is very sweet and caring. Kai is usually very shy, but he seemed to get comfortable with her and her place almost immediately. She even sent me photos of him settling in, which gave me great peace of mind. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.”

About: (Price is for dogs, cats have discount) I’ve taken care of different kinds of dogs for over 8 years. From small cutie to big buddy (100lb+). I live in a house with a unfenced yard, so there are plenty of space for our furry friends. I’m working remotely at home. So my schedule is pretty flexible. I can bring them out on morning and noon for a small walk. And can walk them longer after work. I live in a house with a yard( not fenced). I have two cats and a dog. My dog loves play with other dogs. Also cats and dogs can be isolated.
“Bruno has received the best professional and personal care during his first daycare experience with Ella. We have met a Ella a day before to see how Bruno is going to like the place. Ella got a great big home with fenced backyard, which Bruno felt home as soon as he entered the home. We talked and learned about each other and dropped Bruno with Ella next day. We have received regular updates and photos from Ella to let us know how Bruno is doing throughout the day. He enjoyed his stay and played well with other doggies and don't want to come home when we went to pick him up. Bruno gave a special hug to Ella before jumping back to his car. Whenever we need a day care again for Bruno, Ella would be our first choice. Overall it's a great Experience!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
