“Kendall was very attentive and patient with Wookie and Butter Scotch. She definitely went the extra mile for them and was quick to communicate any issues. Highly recommended”

“Katie is a conscientious and caring dog-sitter. She did a great job establishing trust and providing emotional comfort to our dogs while we were away. One of our dogs is particularly anxious when we leave, and he responded well to Katie. Both of our dogs loved her. They received excellent care, and we appreciated the written updates and photos.”

“A massive thank you to Jake for taking such great care of our kitties while we were away on our trip! We appreciated the daily updates with detailed descriptions of the visit, and also the photos he would include for us of our boys :) Jake is an extremely reliable, dependable and communicative sitter and we will be happy to work with him again in the future!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was a kid, starting with our two family dogs, Snuggles and Peanut! Peanut was a puppy when we got her and I learned a lot about training from that experience. Both our dogs lived good long lives and required a lot of senior care near the end. I’ve also taken care of dogs and cats for friends and coworkers in the last several years when they go on vacation. I love our furry friends and being outside, something we usually have in common! I work full-time in-person Monday through Friday. I am available for pet sitting after work and can do overnight stays but would not be available during the day on weekdays. On weekends, I have a lot of availability and the longest pets would be left alone is 4-5 hours. I live in an apartment and unfortunately cannot host your pet at my home but would be thrilled to keep your furry friend company in your home! I am a very reliable and responsible person and have been at my full-time job for the last six years. My friends and coworkers trust me with their pets and know that I will communicate with them frequently and love on their pets just like they do!
About: I’ve taken care of dogs my entire life. From pet sitting, walking, and senior pet care. I am attentive and loving to all types of pets. I am currently on summer break from college, so my schedule is entirely flexible. I own a car and can commute to you anytime or day. I provide boarding, dog walking, and drop in services. Dogs in my care get frequent walks, lots of attention, and plenty of love. I want every pet to feel comfortable, happy, and at home while you’re away.
“Sarah was an excellent cat sitter! We got in-depth notes and the cutest photos with every drop in. Her questions and attentiveness during both the meet and greet and actual sitting period showed that she cared about our cats’ routines/happiness during our absence. It’s always nerve-wracking to allow someone new into our home to care for our babies, but Sarah really put those nerves at ease. Def recommend her to anyone looking for a new sitter in the area and we hope to book her again the future!”

About: All my life I have been surrounded by animals. Now me and my husband live with four cats and our dog, which we love and care for. From trimming nails to baths to play time, I really do enjoy every moment spent with them. I take care of pets on a daily basis, with whatever I can do to help make the owners life easier. I have an open availability and a very flexible schedule! I am able to adjust to any environment with a small tour. I am also able to adjust my home accordingly to the needs of the fur baby.
About: I’ve been working closely with dogs since I was four years old. We moved around a lot growing up and I would always helped her readjust to feel safe in new areas. I would get to know neighbors’ and friends’ pets, and with this early life experience, I’m a natural at getting pets to feel comfortable with me. I have experience working with senior dogs and dogs in recovery from injury, as well as dogs who have been rescued or traumatized by scary situations. I am currently in school, so my schedule is extremely flexible. I typically have 1-2 classes per weekday, either in the morning or at night, leaving the majority of my schedule open for pet care. I always make sure pets’ emotional needs are taken care of. For example, I pay very close attention to body language. At home, if my dog is ever purposefully ignoring me, I check with her to see if something is wrong.

“Edward was AMAZING with my girls. I was gone for 2 weeks and got photos and updates every time he visited them. It made me feel great knowing they were being taken care of so well while I was gone, especially since one needed insulin injections 2x a day. He isn't kidding when he says your pets will be spoiled! The girls loved him and he gave them attention and love after their meals. I will be using his services again in the future!”

“Christina took the time to learn about my dog's routine ensuring a seamless transition during my absence. I appreciated the regular updates and photos she sent, which gave me peace of mind knowing my dog was happy and well-cared for. Christina is responsible and reliable and went above and beyond to provide personalized care.”

“Melissa’s care for our cat was absolutely superb and a perfect intro to Rover for us. She was highly communicative, responsive, and cared for our cat like her own. She sent photos after the scheduled visits and took care of our home. Highly recommend booking with Melissa - we’ve already re-booked.”

About: I’ve taken care of the family corgi, Lucky, for 12 years now and have petsit for neighbor’s dogs, cats, and bunnies in the past. In addition to petsitting, throughout high school I was involved in a 4-H dog training club, where Lucky and I trained together, learning tricks and agility from certified trainers and earning AKC trick titles certifications. We got a Lucky as a puppy, so I have experience with younger dogs as well. I just graduated from JMU and don’t start my first job until the end of July, so my schedule is pretty open aside from a family vacation in June. I’m unavailable on Sunday mornings (8:30am-12pm) but otherwise have plenty of free time during the rest of the week and can do visits or walking after 12:30pm on Sundays. I’m happy to accommodate whatever needs you and your pet have for care in your home. In the past, I’ve made multiple visits a day to owners homes to feed, walk, play with, and generally just check on and spend time with the animals. I have experience walking, feeding, playing indoors and outdoors, and cleaning up after dogs. I’m unable to board dogs at my house because of my own dog, but am definitely willing to care for them in their own home.
Reston dog parents share their Rover experiences
LaurieBeth did an amazing job with my two 20-pound dogs. Her care was only exceeded by her communication through Rover. I was incredibly lucky to find a caregiver like LaurieBeth on short notice. I was able to relax and enjoy a last-minute trip. I did not worry about my pups once. They were in great hands. I would hire LaurieBeth and plan to!

Carolyn went above and beyond helping us with our dog. We needed someone 3x/day due to his many health conditions. He had just started new medicine for congestive failure and I was very nervous about leaving him. Carolyn stayed longer than requested and filled me in regularly so I wouldn’t worry. I highly recommend her!
We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter for our two kids (one 8 years old and one 16+ years)! Not only did Yvette take excellent care of our dogs, but she also went above and beyond to ensure we were kept updated on their well-being throughout our time away. Her thoughtful updates and attention to detail made us feel completely at ease. In addition to caring for our pets, Yvette also looked after our home, keeping everything tidy and secure so we could travel without any worries. It's rare to find someone who treats your pets like their own, cares for your house, and exceeds every expectation. We highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and dedicated dog sitter!
