“We have a fear reactive pup and Kira has gone above and beyond our expectations to work with her. She has taken the time to get to know Sadie and give her a chance to show her true colors. We were hesitant of Rover with a reactive dog, but couldn’t have found a better fit for our pups! We cannot recommend be her enough!”

“Dymond was wonderful with my cat! Very responsive, caring, and easy to communicate with. This was my first time leaving my cat since adopting her and I felt very comfortable doing so knowing Dymond would be checking in on her!”

About: Hi!! I’m Michele and I live in a townhouse community in North Potomac/Gaithersburg, adjacent to the Kentlands. I have owned rescue dogs for 30 years, and I have always chosen dogs that are “hard to adopt” due to having a traumatic history, having accompanying anxiety or other behavioral challenges, and/or being a wrongly stigmatized breed. All of my dogs have been mixed breeds — a Doberman mix, a Shepherd mix, a Rottweiler mix, a Pitbull mix, a Mini Pin mix, and a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. I have also been helping my daughter over the past two years with her growing petsitting business. I have spent much of my career as a consulting writer and communications specialist in the global health and international development field, and have mostly worked from home. Due to recent changes in the federal government, most U.S.-based professionals in this field lost employment in 2025, and I am taking the opportunity to branch into more entrepreneurial paths that speak to my other personal passions. I always make sure my dogs (and yours!) have plenty of exercise, water, and hugs! And of course food and any medications according to your exact instructions. When I walk dogs, I am conscious of allowing them to have ample time to sniff and explore, as this gives them the mental exercise they need and tires them out for good naps during the day. I also love to give dogs play time in fenced yard/areas with any balls/toys they enjoy. I am available for walks at any time of the day, as well as housesitting in your home (or my home if you prefer!) when you are away! I am also happy to care for cats and any other pets. Thanks so much for considering me, and I hope to meet you and your best friend(s) soon! I’m currently rebuilding my career from scratch and have plenty of time for pet care! The work paths that I am building will all be mostly work-from-home. I will provide long and short walks, additional exercise in fenced areas, water, food, and medications! I am forever a dog-on-the-furniture/bed person but will happily respect your wishes if you prefer not to allow that. I will also provide crate training if desired! I currently do not have dogs living with me full time, but my daughter has two dogs and can bring them to my house anytime if you would like some social time built in.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs through a dog walking service and other private clients! I will take care of your dog like it is my own, and make sure to follow every detail through! I am currently searching for dog walking clients. I am taking a break from school at the moment and want to fill the space with dog walking! Pet care in so important and I would love to be a helping hand for busy families/people who don’t always have the time to walk their dog. I will take care of your dog like it is my own and will care for your home as I am a guest. I appreciate the first it takes and value that.

“Mark was fantastic! He put us at ease the whole time we were away not just with great photos but with amazing information about how our two cats were doing and confirming everything was taken care of. He really went the extra mile and offered to do more than what we asked. He was reliable, kind, and the cats were clearly very comfortable with him. We would love to use him again in the future!”

“Lauren was awesome with my two dogs. They loved her the minute she came to meet them and keep me super looped in while I was away. It was such a relief to travel knowing that my babies were in good hands!”

“Mary-thank YOU for being so magical, awesome, fantastic and always going above and beyond for my kitty babies! I’m so grateful we found you! All your hard work, extra details, and special care are SO appreciated! Thank you bunches!”

About: I gotta be honest, I don't have an extensive list of pet sitting experience on my resume. But, I have pet-sat two dogs (a german shepherd and a minipoo) and have cared for three dogs throughout my life, one (collie) whose back legs gave out a year before she passed, and another two since they were puppies (black lab, jindo). My dog has hypothyroidism so I give him levothyroxine everyday and am familiar with diets to not trigger pancreatits. I have a fairly open schedule with an exception to Friday nights and Sunday mornings. Any time else I am fairly flexible and open to working! I can feed, walk, pick up, and play with your dogs anytime necessary. I can't house them but I am willing to drive reasonable distances!

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life so taking care of pets has always been second nature to me. I’m used to all the basics like walks, feeding, playtime, and making sure they are getting plenty of attention and maybe a few extra treats if allowed. For the past five years, I’ve been regularly pet sitting for friends, family, and others and I’ve met all kinds of personalities from high-energy dogs who never want to stop playing to the ones who just want to hang out and relax. I like to stick to your pet’s usual routine so they feel comfortable while you are away, and I will make sure they are well cared for and getting lots of attention the whole time! I am home from College for much of the Summer, so I will have a very flexible schedule to be able to care for your pets! Any day, any time I could be there to help you out! I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and kept on their normal routine as much as possible. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medication administration, and household rules. I always double-check doors, gates, and leashes for safety before and during care. I keep the environment calm and give pets plenty of attention so they feel relaxed while their owner is away.
“Alice exceeded our expectations in caring for our cats. They were very happy in her presence. We appreciate her clear communication and meticulous Rover cards. Her amazing care was evident throughout the stay. We were very much at ease with her cat-sitting for us, and we will gladly have her again. :)”

“Cecilia was great ! very responsive and committed, she genuinely cared about taking good care of our cat, and my shy cat warmed up to her. Would definitely recommend and book her services again when needed.”

About: I've cared for a wide variety of animals for my neighbors many times, including dogs, cats, birds, fish, a mouse, a rabbit, a guinea pig, a hamster, and even a hedgehog. They trusted me to handle feeding schedules, cleaning, walking, playtime, and basic grooming for all eight pets at once. Managing so many different animals taught me how to stay organized, patient, and attentive to each pet's unique needs. I'm comfortable with multi-pet households, and! always make sure every animal feels safe, cared for, and loved. I'm a college student home on break, so my schedule is very open right now. I'm available throughout the week and on weekends, and I can easily adjust to fit your pet's routine. Since I'm home most of the day, I have plenty of time for walks, playtime, feeding, and giving your pets lots of attention. I have a friendly dog at home and a safe, pet-friendly environment. I always supervise pets closely and make sure they feel comfortable and secure. I keep a clean space, follow any routines you provide, and make sure pets get plenty of attention and care. Whether I'm in your home or mine, I focus on creating a calm, safe environment where your pet can relax and feel loved.
About: Every pet has their own unique personality that we understand and love, in your house or in ours. Pet lovers since childhood, we've been taking care of our own and others for the past 12 years. We have a large fenced backyard, and take the dogs for walks (when appropriate) each day. While we have a mixed house, our house has separate floors for dogs and cats, as they do appreciate having their own space. We have no problems administering medicine and taking care of puppies and older dogs. We never put animals in kennels/crates. In case of emergency the vet is a few blocks away. We work different schedules, so for 22hrs of the day there is always a caretaker at home to play, feed, let outside, take for walks and just be a companion when it is needed. We do our best to understand each animal's unique personality and needs. They are all loved differently. We have a large fenced yard, a super chill golden retriever who always loves new friends, and pet friendly neighbors. Basement, first floor and backyard is for the dogs, upstairs is for the cats, including our two amazing Siberians. We have no problems administering medicine and taking care of puppies and older dogs. We do not put animals in kennels/crates. In case of emergency the vet is a few blocks away.
“We had a great experience with Nezuko’s sitter and highly recommend them! They were reliable, attentive, and very caring throughout the visit. Nezuko was well taken care of, happy, and comfortable, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. Communication was excellent, and the updates and photos were really appreciated. It’s clear they genuinely care about the pets they look after.”

“Amanda was amazing! We needed last minute drop in visits, and Amanda was very responsive to our request. She gave detailed recaps every visit + photos of what they did throughout the time. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - North Potomac
Monika was absolutely fantastic! She stepped in on short notice to watch my female German Shepherd for three days, doing drop-in visits in our home, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My dog clearly had an amazing time - she loved her walks and came back happy and relaxed. Monika kept me at ease the entire time by sending regular photos and status updates, which I really appreciated. I felt completely comfortable knowing my baby was in such caring and trustworthy hands. I would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
