About: I've loved dogs my whole life and grew up caring for our family dog for over 15 years, from playful puppy years through his senior days. I'm hands-on and energetic — happy to run, wrestle, and get down and dirty when a dog wants to play hard, but just as ready to offer calm cuddles and gentle care when that's what they need. Your dog will get attentive, affectionate attention and a sitter who genuinely treats them like family. My wife and I both telework full time from home, which means someone is almost always around, so we're able to consistently keep a close eye on your dog throughout the entire day without ever leaving them alone for long stretches. In my home, pets have a comfortable, low-stress environment to settle into. I live in an end-unit townhouse with a private backyard, so they have a quiet, distraction-free space to lounge in the sun, sniff around, and relax. I love spending time with the pets in my care — whether that's joining them outside, playing, or a bit of gentle wrestling and roughhousing for the ones who enjoy it. I'm an active person, so daily exercise is never an issue. If your pet has a lot of energy to burn, I'm happy to take them on long walks or even a run to keep them happy and tired out. I'm also a big believer in routine. I like to keep my own day structured, which makes it easy for me to fold your pet's feeding, walk, potty, and rest schedule right into mine so they feel secure and their normal rhythm stays intact. Above all, I want every pet to feel safe, engaged, and at home while they're with me.

“Megan is an amazing dog walker for my dog Bowie! She is easy to get in touch with and has been super flexible with scheduling. I know Bowie looks forward to his weekly afternoon walks!!”

“Bristol, is an incredible dog walker. She constantly kept me updated on how the walks went with the notes and pics. She went above and beyond with her commitment to walking my dog. Walking her in snow, and extreme cold and windy conditions. She made leaving my pets for a week 1000% less stressful knowing they were in kind and good hands. I would 1 million percent book with her again for future trips. Thank you Bristol!!!”

“Alexander has done a stellar job with Ajax. Ajax is easily intimidated by men but Alexander has slowly but surely worked his way into Ajax’s heart. He was patient and made small progress with every visit until Ajax let him pet him, then leash him, and now walk him. Definitely someone who understands dog behavior and doesn’t rush to do his job.”

“Amanda is wonderful! She took such good care of my little Holly ☺️ She arrived on time and was super communicative and sent lots of pictures! I’ll definitely book with Amanda again!”

“Sonia is so patient and loving with our anxious pup! She went out of her way to make our dog Jane feel more comfortable with her during her first walk, and has since become a safe person in Jane’s eyes! Sonia is a great communicator and always goes above and beyond. We are very grateful!”

“Seth is absolutely fantastic! He met our dog prior to visiting and made sure they had a good introduction. Then when it was time for his walk he came right on time, took him for a nice long walk, and put him back in his crate leaving him with a pupcicle so he could settle back in on his own. We will definitely use Seth again for walking Lincoln!”

“Morgan was so great with Brownie! She was very attentive in the instructions and details I provided for the walk, and also sent cute photos! I would love to have her walk Brownie again.”

About: Over the years I have taken care of many different kinds of animals including dogs and cats (of which I've owned two of each), guinea pigs, mice, and more! In my veterinary science classes, I learned a lot about the handling of dogs, cats, and small animals and got lots of hands-on experience working with dogs during weekly grooming days. Previously, I have worked in a dog hotel as a kennel assistant where I provided many different services for dogs including feeding, cleaning and walking. Along with this, I also often pet sit for my friends and family :D I have plenty of time to look after pets this summer. If anything pops up that will be communicated through messages or on my calendar 👍 I have experience working with a variety of tempers in dogs, cats, and other animals. I'm very patient with nervous/shy animals and can match a higher energy as well.

“Mel was so great with Jack! It’s so clear that she loves dogs and they love her too. She’s now my go to for all the dog walking and care needs I need help with. Can’t recommend enough”

“Fatima has been walking my 13-year old lab mix, Kona, weekdays for a month. She’s wonderful at keeping me up-to-date about my precious old lady with pictures and messages every day. I work 30 minutes from home so I’m thankful Fatima comes over to check in on Kona and take her for a walk every day.”

“Brianne has been great to work with and we use her services every week. I love that she provides a detailed report card and photos for each walk. She's very responsive and wonderful with my dog!”

“Forest was super patient with our dog, Carmela, who tends to be nervous around new people. They were super communicative with me and made sure Carm had everything she needed. Thanks again!!”

Natasha is the best!! Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
