“It was so easy coordinating Milo’s meet-and-greet and first daycare day with Asia. All the great reviews are well deserved—we’d absolutely recommend her. Milo was clearly well cared for and came home happy and healthy.”

“Jona was amazing with Caruso who is a very shy dog and has separation anxiety. She made him feel very comfortable within a few minutes of our arrival and he responded to her quickly. He usually backs away from strangers and hides behind me but she was able to establish a rapport with him quickly by sitting on the floor and talking to him until he became comfortable enough to let her pet him.”

“Ann and Rick made my dog Winnie feel right at home and took great care of her during our recent very long day first visit. I received reports and photos during the day, which I very much appreciated. Even though we had done a successful meet and great beforehand and Winnie trotted into their house with only a brief look back, they felt she was a bit nervous and adjusted her day accordingly. I look forward to future bookings.”

“Thank you Sophie for treating our girl like your own, she’s always in the best hands with you. She had the best time sniffing your gardens, playing with Love, getting sprinkler time, and all the pets - she didn’t want to leave today 😆 .”

“Kind, accommodating and extremely gentle. My dog misses her instantly and she will always be the person to care for him. She sends pictures and videos and truly is remarkable. Highly recommended”

“This is our first time using Rover. Russ and Andra were amazing. Keept us updated on the boys and send us photos. We used their service while we went to the Indy car race in DC. We will definitely use them again when we are in the area again. Thank you for taking care of our boys.”

“Peace could not have had more fun with Michelle and Cinnamon running around in their very spacious back yard. It was a rainy day, but Peace didn't want to come inside. Michelle did a great job communicating to me and made sure Peace was dry when I picked her up. I seriously haven't seen Peace so excited about a daycare visit.”

“Victoria is very friendly, communicative, and cooperative! Her poodle is very friendly and sociable. Our corgi pup, Mango, had a great time with both of them! I’d highly recommend her to any dog owner I know and I’d be happy to have Mango stay again”

About: Hi, I'm Zafera. I work from home and have a flexible schedule and have a young Boxer girl named Jennifer that loves other dogs and wants to make more friends. I've dog sat off and on for years as favors for friends and neighbors and will love your pet as my own pet. So get ready for everlasting fun and energy over at Jennifer's house! I work from home during the week, but my schedule is flexible, so I have time to accommodate your pet and let them out for potty breaks and walks! I have a fenced yard and a whole room just designated for pets. I also have a loving Boxer girl that is super friendly and loves making new friends! I also will only keep one pet or one family's pets at a time. **I do request a meet and greet prior to ANY bookings to make sure dogs are compatible with my dog**
“My pup and I are regular clients of Miguelina’s. She and her family are wonderful! They’re always willing to care for my dog (even on super short notice!), are super flexible, and take excellent care of him. I cannot recommend her enough! She’s great!”

About: I have currently have 2 dogs which I adore so much! I love playing with dogs and love spending time with then and other dogs in my neighborhood on my free time. I will ensure your dog feels at home and will take care of them as if they were my own. I currently work from home full time along with my fiancé. I wake up early to walk my dogs in the Morning before all my work calls and will take them out again usually at noon after my last call. I also have a third person (my mom who’s retired) that is free all day that watches the dogs when I’m in my office. The dogs usually are free to roam around the house and there’s usually a person on all 3 floors. I have a fenced back yard that the dogs can play if they like. I also have a large crate in my basement as well. There are at least 2 people at home most of the day that will watch the dogs play. I am very attentive when I dog watch and will play with the dogs and/or walk them on my free time.

About: In addition to being an approved foster home for Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, I've cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, and one very cute hamster throughout my 48 years. After both of my senior rescue pups passed away from old age during Covid, I've really missed having a furry companion running around. I'm not quite ready to have my own pet full-time again but enjoy caring for others' furry friends between foster pups. Open to full day, evenings, or weekends. Seniors have a special place in my heart and are always welcome. I am very experienced with those that have special needs or medicines. I do ask that all pets are kid friendly as I have a 10 year old "trainer" that comes with me and really enjoys reading to the pups at bedtime. Though my son will keep his distance from dogs that are skittish, we want a safe and calm place for both the pet and child to stay when they're in our home. For stays in our home, especially those last minute needs, we have beds, crates, bowls, toys, and even various types of emergency food just in case. We're who you need in a pinch or if your flight is delayed on the way home. Boarding in our home always comes with multiple walks a day and often a fun adventure and patio time! Working from home makes flexible pick up and drop off scheduling a breeze for pups staying with me! I look forward to making your pet part of our family while you're away. Be sure to let me know if they'd enjoy the park and long walks or prefer a more laid back stay with extra cuddles or space to decompress and we'll adjust. We sit for many families in our neighborhood and several prior dogs have walked with us to and from school (Hi Georgie!)... while others have napped most of the day away. (Hi Duke, Lana, and Mimi, I'm looking at you!) Need me to pick up to make it easier to head out of town? Or deliver once you're home? I gotcha! I have a small fenced in yard and lots of open green space out back to keep your pup busy! Does your pet prefer a walk around the neighborhood? We'll show them around around and where the best town "gossip" is located. Our furiends who visit love to check their "pee-mails" and we know all the great spots. Have a well behaved pooch? Your pet will always have free range of my home, if they're most comfortable contained near their humans I can close off doors and block off stairs! We even have extra floor coverings for those a little older that appreciate extra traction when walking. Does the pup like crates better at night, just let me know and I'll follow your routine! We have a couple med/lg sized ones here I keep on hand, in case they're needed. I usually keep the doors off so they can use it as a safe place whenever they'd like unless mom or dad prefers otherwise! Safety is incredibly important to us so all animals will stay leashed outside and I have a 2 pet limit set on Rover so things stay calm and we have plenty of scratchies & snuggle time with the does who like to hang out with humans. Have a senior pup who wants to hide somewhere quiet? There's plenty of great hiding spots and we'll tote a bed over to their new favorite spot to keep them comfy.
“Kristi-Ann, Andrew and their pup Loki were so welcoming of my crazy mutt! They took him in like one of their own and have a great dog-friendly setup. Thanks for having him on a hot day—he had way more fun than staying at home!”

“When faced with a sudden family emergency, I reached out to Helena & Nathan trying to find a place for my boy, Jackson, for the day. H&N responded within minutes and we were able to work out day care for the day. I can't tell you how grateful I felt knowing that Jackson would be well cared for while I attended to my own family's needs. H&N kept me posted with plenty of photos throughout the day - and those photos really lifted my spirits when we ended up having to put a beloved family cat to sleep. I really can't thank them enough for the support and care they provided...to both me and Jackson. Rest in Peace, Mr. Kitty. You were my father's best friend and brought love and laughter into all of our lives. We'll miss you.”

“Thank you Nicole for taking great care of our puppy as it was your own. By the second day our puppy was very excited to go over, I was very at peace knowing he was in great hands. 🙌”

“Corey and Nyla were great with Lola and Coco. They put me at ease with their experience, approach and good communication. They were very sweet to our rescue dogs who are still learning the ropes of a home and sought to make them feel comfortable. We will definitely look to them for future daycare and boarding needs.”

“BEST DOG SITTER EVER!!! I could not have asked for a better dog sitter. Carlos provided many updates, pictures, videos, and I could tell from all of the pictures and videos that my little guy felt safe and comfortable, which has not always been the case with other sitters. I could also tell that Carlos genuinely enjoyed my dog. Walks, sunbathing, playing ball, cuddles and naps on the sofa. It really was like my dogs home away from home. I honestly feel like I won the lottery by finding Carlos to take care of my boy while I am at work during the day. My heart is so happy and my dog was so happy and content after his stay with Carlos. I could not be more appreciative. Top notch!!! Thank you so much, Carlos!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Springfield
I needed a last-minute sitter for my two fur babies, and she was absolutely wonderful! She was great at communicating, kept me updated, and took care of my girls like they were her own. I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in such loving and capable hands. I would definitely recommend her and will happily use her again!

Our dog Indigo had a great stay with Victoria. She was very welcoming and helped our shy dog adjust and feel at home. Her very friendly dog was also a great friend to our pup, which I know helped too. Victoria was accommodating to our schedule, kept us informed, and took great care of our dog. We'll definitely be back and I'm sure our Indigo will be excited to see her again!

Marley had such a great time with Hyunbang and Love! I'm nervous every time I leave her since Marley is an anxious girl, but Hyunbang's calming presence and regular communication put me completely at ease. I loved the constant updates and adorable photos throughout the day. My girl clearly had a blast! We have boarding booked with her in a few weeks, and I am relieved to know Marley will be in such good hands.

Jennifer was absolutely fantastic with our 1 year old pup. I felt so comfortable leaving him in her care and got regular updates throughout the day. She was also very understanding when he had accidents in her home. I can’t thank her enough for taking such great care of him and recommend her highly!

They made Chance and Po feel so at home. Both the home and back yard (fully fenced in) are clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Anya was very welcoming of both of them, and somehow both Sarah and her husband made our incredibly shy dog feel comfortable enough to ask for pets, which absolutely never happens. 10/10
Jona was amazing with Caruso who is a very shy dog and has separation anxiety. She made him feel very comfortable within a few minutes of our arrival and he responded to her quickly. He usually backs away from strangers and hides behind me but she was able to establish a rapport with him quickly by sitting on the floor and talking to him until he became comfortable enough to let her pet him.

BEST DOGSITTER EVER! Carlos is truly one-of-a-kind. I could not ask for a better human to care for my dog. My dog is a rescue that did not have good experiences with humans for the first 2 years of his life so naturally he is cautious of humans, but every time he sees Carlos, his tail starts wagging and he does the full-body wiggles. It makes my heart so happy and gives me peace of mind. It is obvious that Carlos truly loves dogs and cares for them like his own. He is also highly responsive, provides regular updates and amazing pictures. I cannot say enough good things about Carlos. He is the ONLY dogsitter I reach out to now. Carlos has earned my highest recommendation.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Springfield commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
