“Rasmus and Elsa went back to David’s for the second time today. When we brought them, they couldn’t wait to get in an greeted David with a lot of tail wags, hugs, and kisses. They again had an amazing time. David is very sweet with them. They love him!”

“Ann and Rick made my dog Winnie feel right at home and took great care of her during our recent very long day first visit. I received reports and photos during the day, which I very much appreciated. Even though we had done a successful meet and great beforehand and Winnie trotted into their house with only a brief look back, they felt she was a bit nervous and adjusted her day accordingly. I look forward to future bookings.”

“Carlos was great with my little Ella. He sent me lots of updates and pictures. She enjoyed her stay and seems so tired from having fun. Thank you Carlos. See you on my next booking!”

“Jona was fantastic with CoCo! She took her on walks and sent us photos and updates, which we really appreciated. We’re excited to book with her again and look forward to more playdates with her furry friends!”

“Christy is everything you would want your Rover host to be. Logistically she checked all the boxes living not too far from major highway I took to my office. Easy to drop off/pick up and get back on the highway again. She responded quickly when I made an inquiry about a weekly daycare hosting for my shy miniature poodle. She demonstrated kindness and patience when our Meet and Greet began later than scheduled. During his stay, Christy texted pictures of Blinky going on a long walk or playing in the backyard. Lovely family took very good care of him. On the second day, I dropped Blinky off, he rushed through the front door without looking back. To me that said a lot because Blinky was not a social butterfly by any stretch of imagination. I can whole heartily give Christy five stars, just for that alone!”

About: I have currently have 2 dogs which I adore so much! I love playing with dogs and love spending time with then and other dogs in my neighborhood on my free time. I will ensure your dog feels at home and will take care of them as if they were my own. I currently work from home full time along with my fiancé. I wake up early to walk my dogs in the Morning before all my work calls and will take them out again usually at noon after my last call. I also have a third person (my mom who’s retired) that is free all day that watches the dogs when I’m in my office. The dogs usually are free to roam around the house and there’s usually a person on all 3 floors. I have a fenced back yard that the dogs can play if they like. I also have a large crate in my basement as well. There are at least 2 people at home most of the day that will watch the dogs play. I am very attentive when I dog watch and will play with the dogs and/or walk them on my free time.
“It was so easy coordinating Milo’s meet-and-greet and first daycare day with Asia. All the great reviews are well deserved—we’d absolutely recommend her. Milo was clearly well cared for and came home happy and healthy.”

“My dog, Aspen, had a great day with Michelle and doggy friends. I rarely leave Aspen with sitters but she was so happy when I picked her up and napped the entire way home. Michelle was great about sending updates throughout the day. We’ll be going back!”

“I highly reccomend Tamara. We were first time vistors to the area, and she was very accommodating when our plans changed last minute, was helpful answering our questions about the area, and was understanding when traveling back from D.C. took longer then we anticipated. Most importantly, my nervous dog settled in very quickly and was very comfortable staying with her, and I picked him up relaxed and happy.”

“Henry was so helpful and flexible to take our morkie last minute while we were moving into our home. He sent pics and updates throughout the day to let me know how he was doing. Thank you!”

“Krysta and Alexa did an awesome job taking care of our puppy Keegan. They were responsive and they communicated regularly with updates and photos. Keegan had fun and lot of play with his furry friends. Will definitely come back. Thank you”

“Victoria watched our very energetic dog and my 21 year old tortise! They had the best time! They came home happy and clean. I could tell she took great care of them and they had fun playing at her home! I received daily updates with pictures which made it easier to enjoy our trip and not worry about being away. Our flight home was delayed and Victoria was very understanding and accommodating. It made a stressful time a lot less stressful. I would absolutely reccomend her! Thank you Victoria!”

“Kristi-Ann, Andrew and their pup Loki were so welcoming of my crazy mutt! They took him in like one of their own and have a great dog-friendly setup. Thanks for having him on a hot day—he had way more fun than staying at home!”

“Thank you Nicole for taking great care of our puppy as it was your own. By the second day our puppy was very excited to go over, I was very at peace knowing he was in great hands. 🙌”

About: In addition to being an approved foster home for Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, I've cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, and one very cute hamster throughout my 48 years. After both of my senior rescue pups passed away from old age during Covid, I've really missed having a furry companion running around. I'm not quite ready to have my own pet full-time again but enjoy caring for others' furry friends between foster pups. Open to full day, evenings, or weekends. Seniors have a special place in my heart and are always welcome. I am very experienced with those that have special needs or medicines. I do ask that all pets are kid friendly as I have a 10 year old "trainer" that comes with me and really enjoys reading to the pups at bedtime. Though my son will keep his distance from dogs that are skittish, we want a safe and calm place for both the pet and child to stay when they're in our home. For stays in our home, especially those last minute needs, we have beds, crates, bowls, toys, and even various types of emergency food just in case. We're who you need in a pinch or if your flight is delayed on the way home. Boarding in our home always comes with multiple walks a day and often a fun adventure and patio time! Working from home makes flexible pick up and drop off scheduling a breeze for pups staying with me! I look forward to making your pet part of our family while you're away. Be sure to let me know if they'd enjoy the park and long walks or prefer a more laid back stay with extra cuddles or space to decompress and we'll adjust. We sit for many families in our neighborhood and several prior dogs have walked with us to and from school (Hi Georgie!)... while others have napped most of the day away. (Hi Duke, Lana, and Mimi, I'm looking at you!) Need me to pick up to make it easier to head out of town? Or deliver once you're home? I gotcha! I have a small fenced in yard and lots of open green space out back to keep your pup busy! Does your pet prefer a walk around the neighborhood? We'll show them around around and where the best town "gossip" is located. Our "fur-iends" who visit love to check their "pee-mails" and we know all the great spots. Have a well behaved pooch? Your pet will always have free range of my home, if they're most comfortable contained near their humans I can close off doors and block off stairs! We even have extra floor coverings for those a little older that appreciate extra traction when walking. Does the pup like crates better at night, just let me know and I'll follow your routine! We have a couple med/lg sized ones here I keep on hand, in case they're needed. I usually keep the doors off so they can use it as a safe place whenever they'd like unless mom or dad prefers otherwise! Safety is incredibly important to us so all animals will stay leashed outside and I have a 2 pet limit set on Rover so things stay calm and we have plenty of scratchies & snuggle time with the dogs who like to hang out with humans. Have a senior pup who wants to hide somewhere quiet? There's plenty of great hiding spots and we'll tote a bed over to their new favorite spot to keep them comfy.
About: Pets have been a part of my family my entire life - dogs, cats, hamsters, fish… and some at the same time. I understand that your pet is a member of your family and they will be treated as such with me. I also know that pet care is not just playtime, they require care, constant attention, to follow what you have set for them in terms of schedule and routine, reinforced love… and of course playtime and cuddles! Your pet will be safe with me and I hope to be an extension of your family’s pet care team. I am available 24/7, including weekends and holidays. I work full time from home so your pet will have my constant attention and time to ensure safety, care, and FUN! I do not currently have any pets in the home. Another driving reason for wishing you’ll share your furbaby with me - I definitely miss the companionship, company, and fun a pet brings to the home and my day.
“We were camping and wanted to spend a day in D.C. without our dog baby. Yuki has a bad case of separation anxiety and it’s always hard to leave him. So glad we found Megan as a sitter for the day and Yuki liked her from the start. He was welcomed by two doggie playmates soon after we arrived and we could tell that he would be okay. Megan sent us lots of pics and a video throughout the day which put us at ease. I wish Megan lived near me in FL because I would use her all the time!”

“Hyunbang and Love are the best!! Dora who is usually shy 🙈 got comfortable quickly and Dora did not seem ready to leave when I came to pick her up. I got SO many photos throughout the day and I know Dora can’t wait to go back. Thank you again!!”

“Jennifer was absolutely fantastic with our 1 year old pup. I felt so comfortable leaving him in her care and got regular updates throughout the day. She was also very understanding when he had accidents in her home. I can’t thank her enough for taking such great care of him and recommend her highly!”

Our dog Indigo had a great stay with Victoria. She was very welcoming and helped our shy dog adjust and feel at home. Her very friendly dog was also a great friend to our pup, which I know helped too. Victoria was accommodating to our schedule, kept us informed, and took great care of our dog. We'll definitely be back and I'm sure our Indigo will be excited to see her again!

Jennifer was absolutely fantastic with our 1 year old pup. I felt so comfortable leaving him in her care and got regular updates throughout the day. Kimberly is Amazing...She will go above and beyond to make things easy for you and your pet. My dog can be apprehensive when meeting new people and was perfectly comfortable meeting and staying with her🥰. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take care of their pet.

Daniela is amazing! My dog Whiskey is a rescue that does not trust a lot of humans so I was so incredibly happy when he recognized right away that Daniela was a safe and loving human. She is a natural with dogs and is a genuinely loving and caring person. We will definitely reach out to Daniela again for her stellar dog-sitting services.

Megan gave Mango a great puppy friend experience today. Megan is very experienced with dogs and helped Mango overcome her timidness so she could have fun. Megan also works in training with the dogs. Mango is tired out, but not overly exhausted. Thank you Megan!

BEST DOGSITTER EVER! Carlos is truly one-of-a-kind. I could not ask for a better human to care for my dog. My dog is a rescue that did not have good experiences with humans for the first 2 years of his life so naturally he is cautious of humans, but every time he sees Carlos, his tail starts wagging and he does the full-body wiggles. It makes my heart so happy and gives me peace of mind. It is obvious that Carlos truly loves dogs and cares for them like his own. He is also highly responsive, provides regular updates and amazing pictures. I cannot say enough good things about Carlos. He is the ONLY dogsitter I reach out to now. Carlos has earned my highest recommendation.

Marlee had an awesome day in daycare today. Kristi Ann did a great job taking care of her. Kristi has a very cozy home and is super dog friendly. In addition, Kristi is quick to respond to messages on Rover. She has a very positive “can do” attitude. Thank you Kristi Ann!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your West Springfield commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
